Suffolk, VAGreat Family Reunion for Daughter's Wedding, June 16
Left on 06/21/2012 for a stay in June 2012
My family and I loved the house - it was spacious, and centrally located to the beach and Manteo for all wedding activities. The toilet in the downstairs bathroom had to be repaired and that took two days, but we managed just fine. The check in process was fast and my guests were able to get their vehicles on the compound with no problem. There was plenty of parking at the house which was most helpful since everyone was going in different directions all week.
We will definitely come back to Pirate's Cove in the future.

Prince William County, VANice house, nice setting

Well equiped and nice house. I just wish the screens were replaced on the back porch. We needed the screens and screen doors back up to keep the little kids in sight. (It didn't matter that much because it was very rainy so we weren't out there anyway.)

Bel Air, MarylandVacation 2009
Left on 08/27/2009 for a stay in August 2009
We had a great summer vacation! The house is wonderful. This is the third year that we haved stayed in Pirates Cove. We did enjoy the location in Sailfish Point more due to its proximity to the pool and the boats. However, the houses in Sailfish Point do not accommodate more than 10 people. The only issue that we had with the house in Ballast Point was the condition of the outdoor grills. It prevented us from having a grill night.

The house at 35 Ballast Point was a wonderful experience for us. It was very clean and spacious and had a beautiful view overlooking the sound. We originally were statying in a 1 bedroom 1 bath condo that was very run down and both its TVs and dryer were not working. Pirate's Cove went above and beyond by moving us to this beautiful house for the remainder of the week. It made the remainder of the vacation a wonderful experience. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Richmond, Va.Delightful stay
Left on 07/01/2009 for a stay in June 2009
This vacation home is bright, cheerful and filled with sunshine. The bedrooms were spacious, the living area comfortable and the views spectacular! We enjoyed breakfast on the screen porch, watching the sun rise. It is close to Manteo, and easy to get to just about anywhere. The kitchen accessories were a little sparse, but we made do.
Overall a wonderful experience in a beautiful, comfortable house! -

We have stayed in Pirates Cove several times before @ VL 67 and have always enjoyed our stay. We decided on Ballast 35 a larger home so that additional family members could join us. Our main issue the big screen t.v. downstairs was not operable and there was a tiny t.v. in it's place. I wasn't told there was an issue with the t.v. at time of check in so I called the office and a gentleman came to the home and we were told the t.v. had just blew up the day before and it would be about three days before he would be able to go to Wal-Mart and purchase another one. Well I now know I was lied to about the t.v. reading the recent review the visitors before us were unable to use the t.v. also so it couldn't have blown up the day before. The problem was simply never taken care of. I also reported the home telephone was not operable, that was never repaired. The trees out back were way too big and a jungle for snakes 3 that enjoyed the pier more than we did. The last thing was the maintenance man who showed up 2 days before our departure to change the homes filters, I think that could have waited until we left (very inconsiderate). I am sure we will stay in Pirates Cove in the future and hope that things will continue to improve.

We have always enjoyed staying at Pirates Cove and BP 35 was another great house. We had a few problems but they were taken care of very quickly. The elevator was great for our elderly relatives. The tree out back should be trimmed a little so the view is better(and what a great view). The 2 disappointing things were the big screen TV downstairs did not work and it was replaced with a very small TV and the main pool was closed but we have never stayed at Pirates Cove this early and did not realize that the pool would be closed-we will know for next time. We would stay at BP 35 again,it was a great house-beautiful!!!! We love staying at Pirates Cove and are just waiting for our next vacation there.

Gloucester VAA Disappointing Stay at PC
Left on 12/14/2008 for a stay in August 2008
We have rented a number of vacation homes at Pirates Cove in the past and for the most part have been satisfied with the quality of the rental. Our stay at BP 35 was the most disappointing starting with the fact that the rental changed to a "pets invited" home after we committed to the rental. We were surprised at the condition of the carpet and other general cleanliness issues in the rental. The door fell off one of the kitchen cabinets the first night we arrived. It is obvious this was once a really nice home, but it no longer meets the standards I expect of Pirates Cove. My family has decided that with the recent price increases on the rentals and the change in the "seasons" designation coupled with our last experience at BP 35, we will not be renting at PC this summer. We truly regret this decision as we have many fond family memories of our PC vacations.

Thank you so much for taking the time to review BP35. It's layout is one of my personal favorites in PC. The owner of the property replaced all the flooring and most of the furniture on the main level in 2008. The feel is very clean and crisp and the photos of the property show the new furniture and flooring. Several years ago our vacation rental homes were listed as no pets or pets invited. We had a lot of complaints from guests with allergies. Many owners who rented their homes had animals but did not want guests to bring them so that chose "no pets". During an owners time at the property a pet would be brought into the home and the pet dander would get into the carpets, furniture etc. Our answer was to create 3 types of classifications" Pet Free Homes, Pets invited, and No tenant Pets. When we did this many owners chose to change over to a pet home to avoid the "no tenant pets" label. This is what happened to this property. I cannot tell that pets are invited when I visit it. In the past couple of years many additional upgrades have happened. We do hope you will visit again, we would love another chance to create an unforgettable experience for you and your family
