Wonderful house and property. There is plenty to do for the whole family. Grandma and Granddaddy enjoyed sitting on the covered porch watching the fishing boats come into the marina and watching the folks fishing on the dock. The grandchildren loved the pool and the rest of us just loved being with the family. This is our second year staying at a Pirates Cove home, and they are always very clean and the grounds are nicely landscaped. I would definitely recommend this property.

This house was perfect for us this year. I have adult children who enjoy a larger bed than twin and they each had their own room. Only draw back was the master suite on upper level with balcony only has queen bed...not king.

What a great place! The view was amazing. The house was beautiful and the people at the resort were wonderful. Lots of things for my 12 yr. old son to do. He loved the fishing tournament for kids and the pool party.
The hot tub needs to be fixed. Even on high there are hardly any bubbles. We tried it one night and didn't bother with it again. Very disappointing. Otherwise a great place. We already reserved it for next year! -

We had a wonderful time on vacation this year. We have stayed in 4 different Pirates Cove homes. They have all been a pleasant experience, however this one was different because of the location. We loved sitting on the deck and enjoying the view of the water and the boats coming in and out. We would definately stay in this home again.

Campbell Hall, NYDisappointed in the upkeep of the home this year.
Left on 08/15/2009 for a stay in July 2009
I love staying at Pirates Cove, and have stayed three years in a row. This
year, however, has me second guessing whether or not I'll be staying in
Pirates Cove, or at least Sailfish 61, next year.
The house's main TV died, the dishwasher was practically falling out of the
counter space and had a broken handle, and the hot tub was filled with a
gray goo.
Pirates Cove was responsive and did try to fix our issues, but the wait was
inconvenient. Once the hot tub was drained and refilled, the jets barely
worked and we were unable to use the hot tub for the duration of the trip.
We feel for the amount of money we pay everything should be operation.
We pay extra for the amenities such as the hot tub and the nice TV's, and
expect them to be operation. One thing going wrong is no big deal, but a
bunch of things going wrong on a trip make us think that there has been
some lack of diligence in making sure the home is as advertised.Response from Pirate's Cove Vacation Rentals & Property Mngmnt - 09/20/2009

Manager
Thank you for taking the time to let us know how we can improve our service. Customer service is of the greatest importance to us at Pirate’s Cove Vacation Rentals & Property Management. We strive for excellence and expect every guest to arrive and find a well maintained home.
The dishwasher has been secured and will not move about as you witnessed. During construction of the house the dishwasher was not secured as it should have been, thanks you for helping us get this resolved.
The plasma big screen TV was struck during a typical Outer banks lighting storm. Upon the report and inspection a 32" TV was purchased and installed. Because of the size of the original TV I am sure a 32” TV looked small. The owner will replace the big screen TV during the fall/winter season.
I have no records of an issue with the hot tub. Each Saturday between guests the hot tub is emptied, refilled, and chemically balanced. Each Wednesday the chemicals are checked and the tub inspected. We are very strict about our hot tub procedures and employ the best sub contractors available to maintain our spas for your use. Any other experience than that listed above was a gross overlook on our part and our subcontractor. This is not our standard.
We invite you to return and would love the opportunity to show you the sparkle, and great time to be had on a Pirate’s Cove Vacation.
Hope to see you soon,
Pirate’s Cove Vacation & Property Management

GOOD: The home was VERY clean. One the cleanest in all our years renting at Pirates Cove. The kitchen was well stocked. Bedrooms were very spacious. We really enjoyed the decks. There was ample outside furniture. We were concerned about the location since we usually stay at Ballast Point (smaller group coming this year and we couldn't justify the need for a larger home). We ended up emjoying the location. It had easy access to the marina/store/pool/etc and we found ourselves getting up each morning to walk on the docks. Gameroom was nice - Great TV's that were used on a rainy day for movie viewing.
Issues: Living room area is much smaller than in other homes. The bridge traffic can be noisy when you are just hoping to sit on the deck and watch the boats/water. The dishwasher was not attached to the granite countertop and would tip forward when loading/unloading. There were numerous issues with the hot tub during our week. Parts were ordered and it was fixed. However, the jets still didn't have much pressure.
Overall: A good home. Decent rental. Would definitely stay here again. Pirates Cove is a GREAT community. As the owner of the Christmas Store in Manteo stated, "everything at Pirates Cove always looks perfect...the landscaping, flowers, fountains, docks, roadways...someone is always working to keep them immaculate."
NOTE: The neighbors were also very nice. He offered us some fresh tuna he had caught in the morning. As permanent residents, they were very welcoming to us even though we were just vacationers.
