The unit we rented this year was the best ever!! We've rented at pirates cove before and were always very pleased, but the unit we stayed in this year was exceptional. It was very tastefully decorated. We felt like we were staying in a real home vs that standard rental unit feel. There were several extra little conveniences that contributed to our comfort as well. The media center was a bit of a challenge to operate, but the weather was so nice we didn't spend too much time indoors!! The location was quiet and had a beautiful peaceful view of the sound. We will definitely be back!! The Johnson's

We enjoyed this vacation very much but ran into a case of head lice. When we first arrived the condo was nice but seemed a bit unclean compared to last years. My youngest daughter had her own room and bathroom and she was the only one with it. My guess is it was on one of the pillows in her room. Luckily no one else has gotten it.

This place was as rated; an excellent place for our summer vacation. We had stayed at Pirates Cove before and love it, but this place was tops. Outstanding view, comfortable and lovely decor, lots of room. The service is great also. Someone who had stayed there before us had left the air on at too low of a setting, so the system was not working up to par. It was a dual system and one unit was not cooling efficiently. We stopped by the office and it had just closed, but a gentleman came to the door to see what we needed. We explained what was going on and he said he would make sure someone took care of it the next morning. And so it was.

We loved this condo. The personal touches, pictures on the wall and family pictures made it very inviting. Sitting outside and enjoying a cup of cofee was a treat as the view was tremendous. We loved the porch with table and enough chairs for sitting. It is a beautiful well maintained condo- and definitely one to stay at again.

We recieved great service.
The home was perfect. We needed handicap accessible and this worked perfectly for my mother's needs. We all enjoyed the view.
The only thing that was tough were all of the mosquitos. Not Pirates Cove's fault, just bad timing.
My daughter wanted to use the playground - but again bad timeing for Irene! -

I loved the condominium. The condo was decorated beautifully with nice personal touches. It really was very spacious and I loved the floor plan. My only complaints were with housekeeping. I really felt they have done a great injustice to this unit by not cleaning it properly. If Pirate's Cove Management rectifies these issues, it is a wonderful place to vacation.

Pirates Cove was extremely clean, well kept, and attractive. My family felt very safe and secure.
The Ballast Pt Condo was as advertised. Very well appointed, roomy, and clean. My son was happy to have his own space. If we retun to OBX, we would chose Ballast Pt
over other options within Pirates Cove.
I like the gated concept, and staff at Pirates cove was very helpful. One very minor complaint. Verrry eary in the morning a Tour Boat would come past the Building and wake me up. It seems to me that Pirates Cove could tell them to be farther out on the Sound that early in the am.

Georgeous sunrise view from this home with tons of deck space available to enjoy. This home includes everything from outdoor tables, dvds and cds, to plenty of cooking supplies. Beautiful decor! Pirates Cove activities are perfect for children. This house easily accomodated our 2 boys and 2 girls. The community has quiet walking areas, playground, close to Coquina Beach and historic Manteo. We were there 10 years ago for our honeymoon, brought our 4 children this year, and will continue to go to Pirates Cove for years to come. This home will be our first choice! It was a true home away from home and one of the most memorable, special vacations with our family. Thank you to the owners of this wonderful vacation home.

The expansive, soundfront view makes this a great vacation home. The comfortable yet luxurious decor and stellar community make it a place you'd like to live. It compares favorably against some of the nicest places in Duck and Corolla - with its only real detraction being the lack of walking beach access.

one towel per person is ridiculous. I did laundry every single day, sometimes twice a day for towels. Save yourself the money for water and electricity and leave your guests more than one towel.
The condo was beautiful. A couple beach chairs at 10.00 a piece would have been nice. We bought some and left them there for the next people. -

Our family has stayed in the same condo for two years now, and we will be back for sure. The layout of the condo is great and the views are spectacular. We cooked almost every night in the well-stocked kitchen. The cookware is of decent quality which is a rarity in many rentals. The decor of the unit is lovely - elegant, eclectic, yet not stuffy.
Pirate's Cove has been our vacation destination for four or five years now. The staff is courteous and solicitous. We have had two minor glitches over our visits, and they were dealt with quickly and professionally. We love the safety of the community and the convenience of the location. With two small kids, the pool and playground suit us better than a house right on the beach. -

The condo was ready for arrival. The security and check in people were
most gracious and friendly upon our arrival They allowed us to put our boat
in the slip assigned, and then we moved in.
The unit (#1325) was huge with three bedrooms and a full wrap around
porch overlooking the sound. The place was as clean as a "whistle" and
clearly maintained beautifully by the owner. The bathrooms were sparkling
and almost had a new smell to them.
The kitchen with a full supply of utensils, dishes and appliances was just
what we were looking for! The only fault I could find with the unit was my
inability to get the TV on in the living room. I am sure that this was my
fault because all the other 's worked just fine.
I think the best thing that I liked about the unit was the privacy of an end
unit, the views of the bay, and the comfort of the beds. We had a fabulous
time in unit 1325 and hope to be back next year to rent this unit again. -

I, along with two girlfriends, have been retreating to Pirates Cove for over 10 years! We have stayed in the Ballast Point Villa for the last several visits and plan to be back in May 2009. This house has everything we need while away from home and is beautifully decorated. If you are looking for comfort and water views, this is the place for you. But NOT over Memorial Day weekend. That time is mine!

We really enjoyed our stay in this villa... the only thing that we did not like is that the king size master bed was as hard as sleeping out on the asphalt in the parking lot. Seriously, I hunted down every unused blanket in the condo to lay beneath my spot as I attempted to sleep. Other than that, the place was very nicely decorated and the view was amazing.. we all enjoyed watching the boats and jet skis out on the water when we were just hanging out. I would recommed this place if you are looking for a adorable condo on the water!
