The place is very nice second time renting this condo. Great views and they have all the extras, beach chairs,umbrellas,coolers.
Problem is with Pirate Cove mgmnt. Second year in a row had to wait til 5pm (last year later)before I could get in. I don't care what contract states you list check in at 4pm. I still have to leave by 10am the following week. Thats money out of my pocket not to mention after sitting in a 16 mile back up just to cross the bridge it would be nice to grab your keys and start relaxing. Will be going back to Nags Head next year. -

This was our first time at Pirate's Cove and sixth time in the Outer Banks this year. We have stayed with 3 other companies and Pirate's Cove has by far been the best. Our unit was clean, comfortable and had a terrific view. It was the busiest time of the year, but it did not feel like it. The pool was great. Hopefully we'll be able to take advantage next time of all the kiddie activities. We will definitely be staying here again! Thank you!!

The photos are right on the mark. Clean and comfortable
with plenty of room and easy to get to being right next to the
elevator. The covered porch with table and 4 chairs added to
our stay bringing the outdoors in. The weather could have been
better, however, all of the attractions up and down the coast
kept us entertained. Ideal area for the camera and history buff. -

We wanted a nice quiet weekend to relax and see what the Outer Banks was like in the winter! The Condo at Ballast Point was the perfect way to do that! we had everything we needed and it was a very comfortable Condo.

This unit needs a deep cleaning! I would rate the overall cleanliness as fair. The shower curtain liners need replacing. I personally bought cleaning supplies to sanitize and disinfect the bathrooms, as well as, the kitchen sink and counters. The unit is not equiped with any cleaning supplies. I think the owners should provide a minimal amount for renters.
The linens were ok. I was disappointed in the number of towels per person. Again, I had to buy laundry detergent so I could wash a load of towels and wash clothes for everyone to be able to take at least 2 showers. Again, I think the owner should supply laundry detergent.
Overall, the unit met our needs, but is in need of a "spring cleaning" and carpet cleaning. The ceiling fans looked like they hadn't been cleaned all year and the air vent returns looked the same way. Also, the renter above us came down complaining that the washer and/or dryer was shaking his whole unit. -

the community is family oriented with great fishing and access to all kinds of water sports. we loved it. dinner at Dockside was a wonderful and we had a lot of people to feed!

we loved the condo... beautiful view... however we had only two "good weather" days, the night we arrived & the day we left, rest of time a lot of wind and rain, too windy to use deck, know this is a "risk factor"... also the people living/staying upstairs from us were very noisy... apart from these two issues we had a good vacation & hope to return...

Ballast Point Villa #1413 is a great place for a summer vacation. The veiw is great. The owners are very gracious letting you use their beach & fishing equipment, bicycles and many other items.
Our only complaint was that the realator said we could walk over the bridge and use the pool. Turns out that this pool is only to be used by the home-owners. We had to drive to get to the public pool near the entrance. We felt like 2nd class citizens.

We're sorry that you were given misinformation about the pools in Pirate's Cove. It is true the closest pool to Ballast Point Villas #1413 is the smaller pool reserved for homeowners, the larger pool complex, including a kiddie pool, hot tub and clubhouse is available to all. The larger pool
is within walking distance of unit # 1413. We hope to welcome you back to Pirate's Cove in the future. -

This is a great place to stay and 2009 will be the third time we stay at Ballast Point Villas 1413 and at least the 8th time at Pirate's Cove.
The accommodations are perfect and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The view of Roanoke Sound is fantastic, we have even often seen dolphins. There is so much to do in the Outer Banks and fantastic restaurants to dine in. This is the perfect place to stay for vacation and we have even had friends and neighbors stay here too and they love it as much as we do. We highly recommend Pirate's Cove and the Outer Banks to everyone
