WNCThe condo was out of date, ill equipped and uncomfortable

I stayed in BV 1013. I enjoyed the Pirate's Cove grounds and facilities. The check in staff and secuurity were very friendly and helpful. The fitness room was good and I enjoyed running on the development's roads, and walking on its trails. The marsh land and sound views, especialyy at sunset were great. I was very surprised by the condo I stayed in. Both shower heads were like standing under a fire hose and couldn't be adjusted to where they didn't hurt. The furniture in the living room seemed like it was purchased at a yard sale in the 90's. It was soiled and very uncomfortable. I doubt if it ever was comfortable. The beds were like sleeping on plywood; my back hurt every day. The carpet looked like it was original to the unit as well, just worn out and though it was probably "cleaned" it didn't look clean. If this is the way the rest of the rental units are I wouldn't recommend staying at Pirate's Cove to other government travelers on extended detail to the area. It would be better to stay at a hotel.

My stay was good and all of the anemities were great. My only complaint is the mold that was on the bathroom ceiling. I have allergies and am extremely allergic to mold. This is very dangerous to let mold stay in any type of building.

I can not remember ever staying at a more wonderfull location for a vacation. I have been coming to the outerbanks for years, and have always been disatisfied with the accomodations I have previously chosen.However,I was most thrilled when we arrived at the Pirates Cove to discover a clean,well maintained an comfortable home.We are an older couple with a small dog,and the service we were afforded was top notch in every respect.We especially liked the security and the sense of order that was prevalent throughout the entire complex.This plus the fishing opportunities right at the location itself. We will stay here again,We loved it.
