      Honeymoon condo

Left on 08/01/2012 for a stay in July 2012

My husband and I had postponed our honeymoon and our stay here was worth the wait. We had everythinhg we needed and more. Being located so close to so many things (town and the beach) we were able to get around with little time in the car.

I was concerned about getting a good night sleep and that concern was over after the first night. Very comfortable in the king size bed. We loved having the balcony access from the room. Having a full kitchen made our time there very affordable. Food in town was cheaper than at home.

Counting the days until our return. Bringing friends next time.

      Nice if Unspectacular

Left on 04/27/2012 for a stay in July 2011

We (two adults and two children ages 5 and 7) stayed in this unit for a week from July 2 through July 9, 2011. Check in and check out were an absolute breeze and well managed. The unit itself was clean and nice overall. As mentioned in another review the fireplace didn't work, but not really a big deal for us. Having two full bathrooms was nice, especially when coming back from the beach. Pirate's Cove is very nice complex overall. The pool was clean, well managed, and large enough to accomodate numerous guests. The staff at Pirate's Cove were very friendly and always eager to help. The kids activities at the clubhouse were outstanding. Our kids really enjoyed the crabbing. The location is convenient being just a short trip over the bridge from Nag's Head and just a few minutes from Manteo which is a really nice quiet little town on Roanoke Island. Would highly recommend Pirate's Cove to anyone who wants to go to the Outer Banks. Many of the islands ended up being a little too commercialized for us, so we spent much of our time in Manteo or at the beach directly across from the Bodie Island Lighthouse which was nice and much, much less crowded than the beach at Jenette's Pier.

      Great weather for the Holidays

Left on 01/01/2012 for a stay in December 2011

The unit was very comfortable, fireplace didn't work and there wasn't anyone in the office. Enjoyed being at Pirate's Cove, we love it there.

      The Perfect Get away Spot!!!

Left on 05/26/2011 for a stay in May 2011

Me, my wife, our daughter, and my mom stayed here for a three day excursion as my wife was in a wedding in Manteo. The check in was seamless, there is water every way inside Pirate's Cove, there are ducks and seagulls everywhere (which my daughter loved), when we first got there it was just so relaxed and beautiful! The condo is spacious with one of the best canal views in the entire complex (after walking and driving around). There is plenty of stuff to do right inside Pirate's cove, with a Ship Store, a Marina (with some beautiful yachts), and a very good restaurant (has great local crab legs and seafood). Nags head and the Tanger Outlets are only 1.2 miles away. So this is the perfect location if you want to stay in a non-commercialized area that is super close to everything including the beaches and the good thing is you save some cash because you're not right on the beach. Even my mom said she had the best most relaxing time she has had at the coast in a long time!

This is what a vacation should be

Left on 04/27/2011 for a stay in April 2011

Our stay was excellent... we loved the serenity of the place and it was just what we needed. No "touristy" pressure to do things, everything was really up to us whenever we wanted it.

We had a two bedroom, two bath condo which was clean and had a view of the canal. We woke up to the Sun rising over it every morning...

We made our own meals in the kitchen an went out a few times to eat, but homemade meals were the best.

The kids also had a great time at the playground.. and a few sights and beaches in nearby Kitty Hawk and Nags Head.

Moving forward this will be our new spring break spot.

The rest & relaxation we expected!

Left on 09/23/2010 for a stay in September 2010

The condo was clean and had everything my wife and I needed for a very relaxing stay. The people that work at Pirates Cove were helpful and friendly as usual. This was our sixth stay at Pirates Cove and certainly won't be our last. Can't wait for summer 2011.

This unit was very clean but it does have a few issues.

Left on 10/01/2009 for a stay in September 2009

This unit was clean but the cabinet space has alot to be desired. No room for putting away groceries or storing other items. The kitchen supplies was very limited and the owners really needs to address the cable service. Very limited number of channels to watch and I was really disapointed when I could not watch Monday night football.

The Pirates Cove Staff was the best. I visit the Outer Banks area several times a year and your staff was the most pleasant people I have rented from. Hats off to you.

      Thanks
      Mike

Left on 07/08/2009 for a stay in July 2009

The reservation experience was very easy and thorough, the unit was clean, comfortable, well equiped and had great views
the only concern was arriving to find maintenence workers on the deck doing some repairs to the building, they finished up before diner and
did not work over the holiday weekend
July 4th activities in Pirates Cove were alot of fun, especially the golf cart parade and decorating contest

      Anniversary treasure

Left on 12/12/2008 for a stay in June 2008

My husband and I stayed here for a week, celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. Our sailboat was parked just outside at the canalfront dock, a convenience that allowed us to hop on and sail whenever the winds were agreeable - which turned out to be daily(first week in June). The few flights of outside steps were tiring when moving stuff in, but this condo was WELL worth the effort and rental money. Clean, well-equipped and oriented perfectly for a view of the sound and none of the hot late afternoon sunlight. Pirates Cove has fitness rooms and a lovely pool, and is a short drive from a choice of wonderful Outer Banks beaches. Too bad there aren't better facilities for parking the boat trailer, although they do have a place off site near Manteo. An EXCELLENT meal may be had at Basnight's Lone Cedar Restaurant on the causeway.
