York, PAWonderful family vacation
Left on 07/15/2012 for a stay in June 2012
We had a very enjoyable stay. The accommodations were extremely clean and comfortable and a perfect fit for our family. It was nice to have refreshments available by the pool, and also the various events for the kids. Highly recommend this property. The staff made everything so smooth and easy -- very friendly.

This was a great week's vacation for the seven of us - five adults and two young kids. The house is very well appointed, nicely furnished, very clean, great location right on the boardwalk with beautiful views over the salt marsh and the sound towards Manteo, and there's ample room for a group this size. A couple of things to improve - wireless reception was spotty, and the hot water heater conked out twice! Service response was fast and the Pirates Cove staff were helpful and courteous, but the owner really should take care of these problems for the long term. If they were fixed we would certainly stay here again.

Overall it was wonderful, beyond expectations. It looked like they had been in the process of re-habbing the house and we could tell they put a lot of work into it. There were little things here and there but overall it was wonderful. We loved it that there was a crab pot and took full advantage of that. Very good! Beautiful! Thanks!

Chesterfield, VAHad a great time!
Left on 08/17/2011 for a stay in July 2011
Generally, the house was clean, in great shape, ready to move in and enjoy!
Except for a few items:
1) Needed to call for Hvac service due to leak over one of the bedrooms due to a blocked condensate pipe.
2) Was told at office before move-in not to use the right sink in the kitchen as there was a problem. Called the office immediately after moving in, said it had already been fixed. Mixed communication.
3) Second floor air conditioning did not work well, particularly on above 90 degree days, was constantly above 80 degrees inside.
4) Beds were too hard to sleep on.
Would recommend better quality beds and improved air conditioning.
Except for these items, we had a great time! -

Dallastown, PAFavorite living area thus far
Left on 07/20/2011 for a stay in July 2011
This was our 10th year at Pirates cove and our first time in this particular home. We loved everything about the 2nd floor main living area and the balconies.
The only reason I didn't rate it a 5 is because the sliding door in the master suite did not work and I didn't care for the layout of the master suite. Other than that it is awesome!

This house accommodated our family comfortably - from the adults to the baby. The open floorplan allowed everyone to be together even though involved in different activities. We were impressed with how well the kitchen was stocked with appliances and utensils. Nothing was forgotten or overlooked! The only problem was that the week was over much too quickly.

YorktownAwesome house
Left on 08/25/2010 for a stay in August 2010
We stayed at Hammock #51 with our family of 4 and another family of 4. This house had so much room it was amazing. The views from the back deck where perfect. We spent many of the nights hanging out on the back deck with the kids looking at all the amazing stars. The location of the house backing up to the sound made it seem very private and peaceful. The inside was super comfortable from the couches to the bedrooms. The updstairs had a very open floor plan with lots of natural light. Pirates Cove itself it a great place to stay in the outerbanks. You get a nice safe community feel while being centrally located between Nags Head and Manteo. I would look forward to staying at this cottage again.

Raleigh NCMuch Needed!
Left on 08/04/2010 for a stay in July 2010
The house was beautiful. I've stayed at Pirate's Cove before and many other places over the years on the Outer Banks. Pirate's Cove is my favorite. I don't necessarily want to be on the ocean so the sound and marsh are perfect. Driving to my spot out at Pea Island on the Nat'l Seashore is short and sweet and the pool at Pirate's Cove always provides other "water time." Everyone is always friends out there, so much so, that I hope by next year, I'll be talking to a realtor about a property. I learned this one was for sale but just a bit out of my price range but I'd love to have it. Sorry it may not be available in the future as a place to stay but there are other houses just as wonderful. Don't worry, I'll be back and soon. Most likely in Sept. when the crowds are gone and the ocean finally gets warm. Thanks for for doing such a great job keeping the properties looking so great. That's a big bonus for renters and potential buyers! See you soon!

Dallas, TexasA great house!
Left on 09/23/2009 for a stay in September 2009
This house is by far the most spectacular I have visited in Pirate's Cove. Nothing has been left out that a vacationer could possibly want. Plan to look into this house for next year also!

Beautiful Chesapeake Bay, MarylandHad a great time.
Left on 07/25/2009 for a stay in July 2009
The house was well appointed and convenient for multi families with children.
There are several areas within the home that allows separation without
seclusion for reading , conversations but still in sight of the activities. The
location was great for the amenities of Pirates cove and to other towns for
ocean visits, shopping and attractions. We have stayed in several homes in
Pirates Cove through the years but this one suited our needs the best. Many
stairs for those that have ambulatory difficulty, -

Virginia Beach, VirginiaWonderful for all ages
Left on 12/16/2008 for a stay in June 2007
We spent a wonderful week in our Hammock Village home. Even with my husband, two daughters and their families, plus guests there was plenty of room for everyone. The kids varied in age from infants to teenagers. With the pool within walking distance and the beach, shopping and Manteo just a few miles away there was plenty to do for everyone. The view was lovely as well.
We are planning on many return trips.
However, all the stairs might be difficult for some people. The living area is two flights up. The master bedroom is not on the main floor.
I would highlt recommend this home.
