Our family has enjoyed Summer Vacation at Pirates Cove for the past 4 years. This home is spacious and comfortable. The upholstry on the bar stools and dining chairs are in need of cleaning/updating, carpet too. The cable/TV was extremely aggrevating!! You could not turn on the TV without resetting the operations!! For this home to be a pet friendly home, there was no odor, smelled fresh. Beds slept comfortably. Neighborhood was quiet, not alot of traffic. There is plenty of parking space-up to 6 vehicles. Will still vacation at Pirates Cove in the future, our family loves the amenities. Pool, childrens activities, playground...5 stars. Wonderful times are had there! Gate guards were so friendly and professional. See you all next year.
Love the Ricks Family!!!

Wonderful weekend beach wedding!

We were there the weekend after Hurricane Irene. Pirate's Cove did a great job in getting the area ready for their guests. The house was perfect for our needs. We were there for our daughter's beach wedding and everything was perfect. We had several family members coming from other states. The house was comfortable and had everything we needed. Would stay again!!
Another successful vacation to Pirates Cove...

We stayed in Rv24 in early June, 2012. Lucked out and had the best week of weather around. The house was simply spectacular. Nice touches with newer appliances, flat screens everywhere, WiFi internet was fantastic. First rate accomodations. Would stay here again and recommend to anyone asking. Thanks.

We loved the house. The kitchen was well equipped for all our cooking needs. We wish there had been a picnic table under the house for messy crab picking.
This home needs extensive up-dating and pest control.

Home was average. Love Pirates Cove amenties but this home needs a rehab. We were here for Thanksgiving week and the kitchen equipment was just not adequate ( No paring knife, electric can opener would not function, etc.) Carpets were in terrible need of cleaning. Cockroaches came crawling out at night. Management was quick to respond with pest control but by the end of our stay the roaches had already returned. Hot tub motor was broken and management again was quick to respond. Overall the house furniture was old and dingy. The flat screen TVs were an added benefit. We have stayed in Pirates Cove in the past and this was our least favorite rental.
Vacationing with friends and kids

This was our first trip to Pirates Cove. We liked the resort a lot. We thought it was well maintained and really liked the fact that we felt our children were safe riding their bikes throughout the neighborhood. I wish we could have used both pools. The "renters" pool could get a bit crowded, so that was disappointing. The house has been well-maintained. The kitchen was obviously recently updated with very nice appliances and we found everything we needed. We traveled with another family, so we really liked how there were 2 master bedrooms with the exact same layout. That was very convenient. The house was also clean although a bit cluttered with too much furniture and nicknacks, especially in the living/dining room. We loved the convenience of the computer/internet and all the big screen Tv's. We would definetly stay at Rudder Village 24 again.

Plenty of Room

Overall experience with rental was wonderful. We enjoyed the stay. Clean upon arrival. Appliances were great. Plenty of cookware. Only item we looked for that was not there was an ice cream scoop. Beds need replacing especially the Queen bedroom. The plastic mattress covers need replacing on the bunks. They make too much noise according to the children. Wallpaper needs to be repaired or replaced. Wallpaper is out of date. Deck needs a table and chairs. Golf cart would have allowed more use of the amenities without driving car. Would stay there again.

At the home there were a lot of issues that made our stay less than great. On the deck a lot of nail's were sticking up that made walking on the deck dangerous. The grill was dirty when we arrived, several fans in the home were not working and one stopped working while we were sleeping and whatever broke off the fan fell on us while we were sleeping. The house could use more kitchen items some kitchen items missing.Bathroom fan making very loud noise while on. I love Pirates Cove and will return but, I will not stay at

Rental property not up to standards

I must say that after staying at Pirates Cove for 16 years,My family and I were extremely disappointed with Rudder Village 24. The home was not up to the standards you have provided over the years.Upon arriving at the front of the bldg. We found someone had over sprayed the front steps, paint was spilled over the sidewalks and was a messy job. Upon entering the front door we found a large box with bits and pieces of the blinds, pillows etc. The blinds in the home were in poor condition, missing slats and even fell down when we tried to close them.Faucet leaked in kitchen. When we arrived home from Church Sunday PM, found the upper floor A/C had gone off and would not cool the upper floor. As it was late we waited till the next morning to call in the problem. Your initial response was quick, but the maintenance man could not repair the problem.Another man came about 3 hrs later, charged the A/C and told us that it would take a couple of hours before we would get cool air. Finally 3:30PM after not getting cool air all day we called again and the third man repaired the problem. We had bought food to cook out on the advertized grill, found the grill unservicable i.e. rusty, would not light and a complete mess. We found blood spots on the lower bedroom bedspread and also found blood spots on mattress cover in the lower master bedroom.Wallpaper had been pulled from wall in powder room.We felt that the home needed a complete overhaul. This is the first time that we have been disappointed with our rental property and feel that the money that was spent for the rental of this home was way over priced. One great point is the security team was great. Your security force has done well in that we did not see many young people miss using golf carts as in years past.Your first response to the A/C problem was commendable although he could not repair the problem. We apologize that your stay was not up to the standards you have received in the past. I wanted to let you know that the owner of Rudder Village 24 has made numerous upgrades to their home.
The home has a new air conditioning system and new hot tub. It also has been re-painted. Just to list a few other items it has 4 new flat screen HD TV's, new appliances, kitchen utensils, and blinds throughout.
We hope that you visit the Cove again soon and make your next visit as pleasant as the previous 16.

We couldn't get the house we wanted for our two week stay, so we rented this for one of the weeks. We had several issues - the main one being the cooling system. It was repaired fairly quickly. The furnishings of the kitchen were lacking. It didn't have what was really needed to prepare meals the way we are used to. They need to make some purchases of basic flatware and baking items. We have stayed in a number of homes in Pirate's Cove and dearly love the majority. Pirate's Cove is a WONDERFUL vacation destination for families large and small!! Read more
Many thanks to you for choosing Pirate's Cove for your vacation. We must apoligize that you found the kitchen lacking basic items. We do have a required items list. Please call the office anytime you have questions or need items that are missing, they will be replaced immediatly if nessessary. Our goal is to have 100% happy guests.
