Hi
This was our second time in this Unit -- this time - although we really like the Unit there were some items needing repair
1) The Hot Tub leaked - service was called and basically told us the Owner din't allocate any repairs for this
2) The shower in the Garage area did not work
3) The Game room in the Garage area was full of Mold and Mildew .
Suggestion -- would be nice if the Pantry was able to be used by the renters
Like mentioned -- we like this unit and will return but for the amount paid for rent - things should work that you pay for . -

This house was just "okay". The tv's in the living room and bedrooms(except the master)are very old with VCR players - who uses Vcr's? Many light bulbs were blown out in the house and outside. When we arrived the downstairs toilet didn't flush and it took the maintenance man 3 days to fix it, plus he told us that the work order had been put in 2 days before we even arrived! My husband almost fixed it himself because it was a simple part. So everyone had to run upstairs whenever they needed to use the bathroom. The hot tub broke and leaked, and the jets and temperature gauge didn't work. There was a huge roach in our bedroom during the night, and the house itself is somewhat dirty and run down. The carpet is filthy and needs replacing. You could definitely find a nicer house in Pirate's Cove for the same price as this rental! Sorry but we won't rent this one again. The porches were nice and the canal and ducks were nice.

Our 8 month lease in Pirate's Cove was wonderful. The staff was always friendly, helpful and willing to resolve any issue that may arise. The house was nicely furnished and very comfortable. We could not ask for a better experience and are looking forward to having the opportunity to enjoy Priate's Cove again!

The house & amenities in the house were adequate. The cleaning was the problem. The shelves in the freezer were not put in correctly so that led to a problem with the cooling of the refrigerator. It was mid week before the problem was solved. The maintenance staff sent ice which was a great help. There were several lights out that could have been replaced if we had called to have them replaced, but we didn't want to have to wait for the staff to do that. The sofa had pet hair on it that stuck to our clothing. We have dogs so we weren't too upset over that, It was the general cleanliness of the carpet & stairwell that we noticed the most dirt & hair. We love Pirates Cove & will come back next year & may try the same house or another. This one fit our bed arrangement the best for our family.

We were impressed by the house. It was clean, well decorated, modern, and equipped with everything we needed. We paid less than we would have for the equivalent house further down Hatteras. That said, we did miss the quieter beaches away from Nag's Head.
The little one with us enjoyed activities and the swimming pool, and the adults enjoyed the restaurant onsite (good she-crab soup).
Management was friendly and easy to deal with all around. We really had no complaints at all.

Our stay at Pirate's Cove the week before Easter was just what our family needed. With three generations in residence, there was something for everyone. The children loved the park, fishing in the pond, feeding the ducks in the canal and exploring. All of the adults relaxed, walked, ran and soaked up the energy to renew themselves from the everyday stresses at home. The house at Rudder's Cove was perfect. If felt like home. We would definitely rent it again!

We have stayed @ PC for many years. The owner of this home has taste. Beds are comfortable, sofa & furnishings are the same (have to have a comfortable sofa). Every room is spacious & equipped w/ good electronics & I love the stereo in the MBR. I just wish that renters would take more care of other people's things. It was obvious the owner supplies good items & also obvious that the Renters have a -- not my stuff -- kind of attitude. Sorry to say to the owner that the waffle iron was caked up w/old waffles & broken (I couldn't stand it so I cleaned it anyway), the nice griddle looked broken & didn't seem safe to use. The maint. man came to check the light bulbs & said a new cook top had been installed, it was already cracked & I cleaned it the best I could (I bought cleaner for it). Plenty of cabinet space in the kitchen after I straightened everything up. Thank you owner for a comfortable home for @ week (wish it were more) & shame on you renters for not taking more care of other people's things. You want it nice then leave it nice. I wish this was my daughter's family home, playground, pool, hot tub etc. very convenient for school ... perfect (they live in Manteo). So sad to leave & would love to stay again.

Rv#9 was a beautiful home. The layout was great, furnishing were awesome and location was so nice with children! We walked to the pool everyday! This was the second home we have stayed in and while we loved it, there were a few small issues. The pantry in the kitchen was used as the "owners" closet, therefore there was nowhere to store our food. There was a larger "utlity" closet across from the laundry that would have been a much better choice.
We also had a bit of a pest problem, the office at PC scheduled the home to be sprayed as soon as we reported the problem however, it didn't work! :)
And last but not least, all of the spoons were missing and some cookware (ie a crab steamer!!!) No biggie, now I own one!
All in all, we had a great time, we would stay in the home again. I would for sure recommend it to a friend!

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your stay. Once the owner was made aware of the missing items, they were replaced immediately. Unfortuately, the only climate controlled closet that can be used for the owners is the kitchen closet, as the other closet needs to be accessible for AC maintenance. However, there is ample cabinet space for food storage. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

We had a difficult time locating the house as we were told it was 9 Rudder Village but it was really 9A Pirate's way- a map in our key packet would have been helpful. Once we made it there we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The accommodations were lovely and very clean; it was very nice to be so close to downtown Manteo. Highly recommended!!

What a perfect vacation home! This house is a very comfortable place to relax after a day of fishing. It is also convenient to all the beaches while being off the beaten path just the right distance to get away from the crowds that summer brings to the outer banks. The living area is comfortable and large enough to host a couple of families. Being able to moor a boat in the backyard made fishing as convenient as possible.

This was an awesome experience - I would go back in a minute - the grounds are clean, the house was immaculate and we just loved it - we will go back. The only thing that I would recommend is that the gas grills be in better condition. For the price we paid we should have had a cleaned, newer gas grill. I think the problem is that they are cheap grills therefore they do not hold up well.
