Richmond VAJust ok.
Left on 08/24/2012 for a stay in August 2012
The house seem to be tired with old furnishings and soiled carpet. There were ants in kitchen and master shower did not seem clean. The drive way needs to be larger so you are not playing car jockey all the time. On the good side the deck overlooking canel was nice.

The house on the whole met our needs. The matresses on the single beds were uncomfortable. There were ants in the kitchen which ruined a package of coffee cake. The ant trap was not effective & even though we sprayed, they returned. The dryer wasn't as hot as it could be. We liked the decor & found the beach equipment adequate.

Very nice house with beautiful views. The kids enjoyed crabbing off the pier behind the house, and we enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the sunsets. Well stocked kitchen

Fast and Friendly. The house was great and very kid friendly. Great view's and wonderful walking dock. Easy access to pool and Marina. Wish the outdoor shower was usable. (Only scolding hot water). Potentially an easy fix, but we were not that concerned so we didnt contact anyone about it.

We love the location of Pirates Cove! the staff is very helpful and kind! The home was clean and had everything we needed! It was pet friendly so of course the carpets were stained but that's to be expected I guess! No ants this year thank goodness! Love being able to look at the water and walk the dogs and meet some of the people in the neighborhood! Love MiMis but wish it was opened sooner! We were tgere all week and would have gone there during the week!

North Potomac, MarylandA lovely time in a nice home.
Left on 10/31/2011 for a stay in September 2011
We had a lovely time, and absolutely love Pirate's Cove. We have vacationed there many times, and plan to do so again and again. This is a nice home in a great location, but it should be more comfortable. The table and bench chairs on the back deck are very nice, and were greatly appreciated, as we love to eat outside. The other deck furniture was, however, in terrible shape. The two rocking chairs were broken as were three of the plastic adirondack chairs, which meant that beach chairs were the only option for sitting out on the deck until we relocated the two plastic adirondack chairs from the front deck. The dining table and chairs are more stylish than comfortable, and really not well suited for a beach house. On the plus side we love the layout of the house and the fact that it is pet friendly. The baby gate at the top of the stairs leading up to the deck is a great addition for anyone with a dog or young children. Pirate's Cove is to be commended for repairing the minor damage to the home in the five days between Hurricane Irene and our arrival. Our home, the fitness center and the pool were all in good shape in a very timely manner. In fairness, Irene may have had something to do with the deck furniture, but the owners evidently opted not to replace the broken furniture during our lengthy (17 day) stay. The view from the back deck is very nice. The master bedroom is spacious with a lovely bathroom and huge walk in closet.

The Staff at Pirates Cove Vacation Rentals went beyond the call of duty to help us turn a poor vaction experience into a great one...we had booked a friend's house that turned out to be a disaster. At the last minute we were able to move to Priates Cove and enjoy a great week!

Left on 06/22/2011 for a stay in June 2011
This was a wonderful place to stay. Pretty much anything that you would use/need in your own home was supplied. The house itself was great as well as the location in Pirates Cove. We loved that we had privacy and peace and quiet, but just a mile down the road you could shop or do what ever you may want to do. We will be coming back to Pirates Cove and if we don't stay in Vl86 it will only be because more people want to come on the next trip to OBX so we may need a bigger house.

The house was spacious enough for the whole family. It was definitely a perk to be able to bring our pet along with us. We enjoyed watching Dvds, walking on the pier, and cooking out on the deck. The master bedroom is on the third floor away from the rest of the bedrooms for added privacy. It had a huge walk in closet and glamour bath. You also had the luxury of a deck you could access from the master bedroom. I would definitely rent this house again for a family vacation.

Left on 06/02/2010 for a stay in May 2010
The house was great and clean but there were ants in the kitchen and the downstairs bathroom. An exterminator would probably solve that problem. We bought some safe nontoixc ant spray it solved the ant problem. We had dogs with us but the rug was stained but clean from previouse dogs. Otherwise the view was fabulous. The house had a sunset view from the back so we could sit in the shade all day on the deck. The walkways all around the water were great for waliking the dogs. We willl be back next year. It was also so convient to the beac just over the bridge and there were parking lots for the beach. There is so much to do. We went to Corolla and rented a jeep and road on the beach and saw 20 or so wild horses and visitd the Elizabethen Garden and the town of Mateo. One of our best vacations ever!!!

The house is in a great location for a relaxing stay at Pirate's Cove. There is minimal noise from the traffic on hwy. 64, which was so nice!
The home was clean & had all the essentials, although it could have used a good vacuum prior to our arrival... there were balls of dog hair rolling around on the carpet like little tumbleweeds. Once I vacuumed them away, it was great! Nice view of the salt marsh from the back deck & upper porch.
It's certainly one we'd visit again. -

Left on 09/16/2009 for a stay in September 2009
We had a great stay at this home. It is very clean and perfect for families with dogs. However, there are ants in the kitchen and bathrooms. There were even ants that sprayed out of the jets of the jacuzzi tub. However, since I am not a big fan or user of jacuzzi tubs that didn't really bother me. The dishwasher was broken while we were there and it leaked everywhere causing my niece to fall and bump her head so beware of that. Hopefully it'll get fixed! All in all though when renting a house there are bound to issues. It is a home, not a hotel. However, it is clean and nice and in a great neighborhood!

This was our 11th year vacationing at PC and our first in VL #86. Lynn in
the rental office was as helpful as always and it is great to talk to familiar
staff members year after year. I really liked that this was a pet friendly
home and would have liked to have stayed our entire 10 days in this house
but it was not available. Loved having a larger back yard and watching the
herons hunting for fish from the deck. This was also close to our friends in
VL. Was not thrilled to share my space with ants in the kitchen and random
water bugs but the rental office was quick to send out the pest control and
by the end of the week they were gone. Dining room table and chairs were
not quite large enough for everyone to sit down together and extremely
uncomfortable (heavy metal chairs with no back cushioning). Kitchen was
well stocked although we had Lynn bring us a roaster as there were no large
pans to accomodate a 10 lb roast. Loved the golf cart parade on July 4th!
And the tye-dye shirts as always. As this was a celebration of life after
cancer treatment we absolutely made the most of our visit this year,
introducing new friends to PC and enjoying every minute. -

The house was clean and in great shape. The grounds were beautiful. We had a full set of visitors and there was plenty of room. The back porches and view were most relaxing. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well supplied with dishes and all the necessary cook ware. The outdoor grill was a nice plus that got plenty of use. The only minus was there weren't all the necessary cleaning supplies (Windex, trash bags, etc) to keep the home as clean as it deserves.

Left on 07/31/2009 for a stay in June 2009
I like to bring my dog with me, but I'm always afraid I'm going to wind up with a smelly, stained home. Not so with Village Landings #86. Everything is immaculate. The yard is also a great size for playing fetch with your dog, although beware that you don't throw too far - my OCD border collie went right over into the swamp to catch one ball! Anyway, it was a very clean home, it was convenient to park the boat at the canal space right in back of the house, our kids had lots of space to play and the neighborhood is very pet friendly. We plan to come back to this home year after year.

We absolutly loved the home we stayed at in Pirates Cove. The canal out back was awesome for crabbing and the deck was a wonderful place to eat! The home was well stocked and very clean.
We did have two problems and the staff at Pirate's Cove corrected the issues very fast. If you have a crawling child be aware there are two sets of stairs and no gates. The stairs were too wide for our gate. Our baby did fine, we just had to be very careful.
I recommend this home for your stay. We truely created some fabulous memories. Can't wait to go back! -

This home is well stocked with dishes and cooking utensils and has a lovely view of the canal/marsh/Sound. It was clean and quiet. The deck is very sunny - so much so that we couldn't actually eat out there. The outdoor shower was not operational. Be aware that this is a four-level home and there are lots of steps. There is a small queen suite right next to the front door and a small BR with 2 single beds right off the living room (level 2 or main level). The 3rd level has a bathroom and another BR with 2 twins. 4th level is the Master suite with HUGE walk-in closet, bathroom and private deck. Our kids enjoyed playing in the yard and crabbing off the boardwalk behind the house. I would go again!

Thank you for taking the time to review Village Landing 86. In reviewing the work orders for that property I see someone had turned the water off at the main and the shower head was cracked. I see those things have been taken care of. We look forward to seeing you again.

Left on 01/27/2009 for a stay in June 2008
We stayed in this home in June of last year and were very pleased with our stay. The home was just as described, and pictured.
The home was well-kept and very clean. We enjoyed the view from the back porches. Our children really enjoyed fishing and crabbing from the dock directly behind the home. My husband and I also enjoyed evening walks on the boardwalks thoughout the community. Pirate's Cove is our favorite place to stay when vacationing on the Outer Banks. We love that we are close to all the action in Nags Head and surrounding areas, yet tucked far enough away that it is very quiet and relaxing.
I would highly recommend this fantastic home to anyone taking a trip to OBX!
