This was our second trip to Pirates Cove and we were not thrilled with this rental. The outdoor patio furniture coverings are falling apart, you fall through when you sit on them, and I am a small person of normal weight. The silverware in the kitchen is horrible, it is Extremely cheap. The chairs in the living room are worn, the bed in the Master suite is Very Cheap and Hard. The pool table is very nice, but they have it stored in a small room downstairs where it smells horribly of Mold ! They have a dehumidifer in the room, but it is not helping. The lights on the Hot tub on the deck Do not work. We will not be staying at this home again.

My family celebrated it's 14th year vacationing at Pirates Cove and it is our home away from home. The staff is always wonderfully helpful with anything you need and I look forward to talking with them every year. This was the first time we rented VL 100 and will probably not be renting it again. I suspect that this owner was new to renting as the kitchen, although beautiful, was missing alot of equipment, dishes, and such that we needed to feed our group of 10. The ladies in the rental office fixed the problem while we were there. The deck furniture is falling apart and I ended up taking a needle and thread to the deck chairs to fix the netting so the cushions did not fall through the back while you were sitting on them. The pool table was a wonderful asset to have, especially on the rainy days, but there is no a/C in the pool room, only a dehumidifier. Pool cues were missing tips. Small bedroom with trundle bed has a tv that has limited channels that are not fuzzy and repairman came out to say it was probably old tv or cable - no DVD in room so little girls were not happy. I do not understand why Owners still have VCR players when no one watches VCR tapes anymore. WiFi is available and came in handy to get Netflix with our PS3 game console. Master bedroom bed was hard as a rock and required me to visit the chiropractor twice while on vacation. Nice selection of Dvd's to watch and board games for rainy days. Beautiful view of preservation area and manteo waterfront from deck, with roomy hottub.
