We very much enjoyed our stay at BV 622 over Labor Day weekend. Plenty of room for my husband and me, our kids, and my parents. The kids loved the bunk bed room. Views from the 2 main bedrooms and deck were amazing. Location was fantastic - very central. Enjoyed the pool as well. Definitely plan to return!

This was our third summer at the property and our stay was just as good as the first. We originally selected this property because it includes a lot of baby/toddler items that take up a lot of room in your vehicle (i.e. booster seat/highchair/gates). All advertised items were present again this summer.
More important than the individual property is Pirate's Cove itself. This is a great location that offers a tremendous amount of variety and is very kid-friendly. From the kid's fishing tournaments to the family movie night in the pool, there is always something going on. Plenty for adults to do too. If you have never been during the Pirate's Cove Billfish Tournament, go...it is a great time to be there!

I have been coming to the OBX for over 25 years and this was the best place I have ever stayed. We had two kids and 5 adults and there was still a great amount of breathing room. My son (2.5 yrs) loved feeding the ducks and looking at all the boats. Our view was amazing - the staff was even more awesome and have continued to be (we left some clothes in the dryer and they are mailing them back to us). The restaurant on-site was very good and not as pricey as you would think. The location rocked! Close enough to the fun but far enough away to relax. The only downside was the bunk beds in this condo. They seemed a bit unsafe so only one of us slept in the bottom bunk while the other slept on the couch. Not a deal breaker by any means but it would be so much nicer if there was a way to fit two twins instead of the bunk beds. I have two kids under the age of 3 we did annoy the second round of people below us but the front office was so amazing about it that it really made us want to rent from only PC. In fact if we could we would buy here! We loved it that much! Thank you again and see you next year!
Unfortunate experience after 13 fabulous years at Pirates Cove

I have vacationed at Pirate's Cove over the Memorial Day weekend for the past 13 years. It seems I've worked with the same office personnel for almost as many years when booking our rental and always they've been pleasant to deal with on the phone or via email and when checking in and out. Recently something obviously changed in the management and/or personnel at Pirate's Cove Realty and I experienced first hand a break down in the customer service that has kept me and my girlfriends returning year after year.
Due to a booking error made by Pirate's Cove, and one the office was not willing to fix until the '11th hour', this vacation was less than relaxing. Ken, my customer service rep, was reluctant to be helpful in the matter; immediately he reminded me that 1) I had already signed the contract and 2) I had already paid in full.
Although I explained to Ken that I am a repeat customer of 13 years at Pirates Cove and I've rented the same unit for the same weekend for the past 6 years it was not an option to say to me, "We will be happy to work with you. Let me see what I can do for you." No, I had to sit back and wait for him to decide if he would offer us another unit, 1 day prior to my departure for the Outer Banks.
In the end, we were offered another unit,Bv 622. This is not our usual unit when we visit Pirate's Cove but it did the job. It was dusty, not freshly cleaned, which again, not the norm for Pirate's Cove.
Needless to say, there are more details to this story but I feel it most important to stress that I am disapointed that what was once a place I longed to get away to with my girlfriends is no longer. And Ken, nice matters!
This is a great condo with all the necessary amenties and in a wonderful location. I have rented homes at Pirate's Cove on five different occasions and the service received has been excellent. However, on two visits we have had numerous interuptions due to painting and repairs being done while we were on vacation. The first time this happened we had an elevator and access to the apartment was no problem. This year we had several situations when we could not exit or enter the condo due to the stairs being closed for painting and repairs. Waiting five minutes is one thing but forty-five is another.
