Stresa, ItalyStupendo palazzo e stupenda ospitalita'
Left on 01/10/2013 for a stay in November 2012

ajacciowe had a wonderful time
Left on 06/13/2012 for a stay in July 2011
We had a wonderful time in Mantova the location and comfort of the apartment was the base for our experience.
it was truly amazing... the pictures don't really show how beautiful the palace is;
Loved how people gave us directions by the number of minutes to walk. The Palace is right in the center of everything and we enjoyed the beautiful views of the town. The location is close to the train station and we were easily able to do day trips out of Verona.
Nice to have the air conditioning. Guido was very welcoming and helpful.
Faustina was excellent. She also provided great information when we called her later with another question. We loved our time here and we are planning to return

Our stay in the Torre was everything we expected and more. We stayed for two weeks. The accommodation is clean and extremely comfortable and the family's lovely maid, Faustina, who speaks English, comes every day and looks after you very well. If you want flunkies and hotel-posh this is not for you, but if you want a unique, off-beat experience staying in a real, utterly private and historic building, this is it. It was too hot to use the roof very much in July but it would be a wonderful asset in May or September. Mantova is a great place with lots of lovely restaurants and cafe-bars, as well as being a good centre for touring Verona (including the Opera Festival), Parma and Trento, all easily reached and fantastic.

Great location,in front of the Palazzo Ducale There is a lovely bakery just on the corner with great treats to take back for your morning coffee. If you enjoy walking and exploring the back streets along the way, this is the ideal spot.Great open market right down the square on friday .. -

Lovely enormous room with gorgeous frescos on wall and all you need for a very comfy stay. A very friendly welcome and kind help throughout our stay. Perfectly situated for easy access to city - whilst being a lovely peaceful retreat. Panoramic views on the terrace - we learned this is the highest terrace in Mantova in a lived in building.

New York, N.Y.Visit Mantua as a Renaissance gentleman
Left on 11/05/2010 for a stay in August 2010
A vast room decorated with faded frescoes at the top of a 12th-century tower in the Palazzo Castiglione; 360-degree views of Mantua and its lagoons from the roof terrace; comfortably appointed; air conditioning. Service is charming and helpful (the owner lending me his laptop when mine failed to connect to the wi-fi).
No better way to discover this splendid and intimate city than in surroundings that have belonged for 400 years to descendants of the Renaissance humanist Baldesar Castiglione, whose portrait by his friend Raphael hangs in the Louvre and whose _Book of the Courtier_ defined the the Renaissance gentleman. -

Palazzo Castiglioni is the ancient Palazzo Ducale in Mantova. In this ancient bulding there's an apartment reserved by the Count Castiglioni for their guest.
It's a perfect large room with an incredible bed, original painting, a huge terrace with a Mantova's full view. The bathroom is clear, big and confortable. All is in an atmosfere warm and historic. One of my best experience in Italy. Strong recommended. -
