      What a wonderful home

Left on 02/26/2013 for a stay in February 2013

We just returned from a week in Manuel antonio at Jim's beautiful open home. When we walked in the view dropped our jaw. The home opens up with glass to the expansive ocean view over the wonderful blue pool. The home is so comfortable, casual and easy with open air and fans for circulation. Everything we needed was there. Great fluffy towels and laundry done by Karen, who kept everything so tidy. Our 17 year old son was so happy with extreme adventure and the ocean. We ended up not even renting a car because it was easy to walk to restaurants and the bus was at the corner and took us to the beach and park. Our visit was too short. The Costa Rica people and taxi drivers and guides are happy, kind, and welcoming to North americans. Can't wait to return to this great home.

It's as much about Jim as about the house

Left on 01/19/2013 for a stay in December 2012

The house is perfect for two or three people, as it is two BRs. Views are wonderful - direct to the water below. The house is in good shape, though clearly lived in over the years. The pool is small, but lovely. There's a small road in between the house and the water below, but, while there are occasional road noises, the proximity to everything makes that an acceptable tradeoff. The only shop in town is a stone's throw. That's very helpful. But the real key here is Jim. He goes out of his way to organize things for you and it makes a real difference. He is a natural host and knows when to help and when to back off. Always there when you need him, but never intrusive. Really special guy. Take his advice and you won't go wrong. Manuel antonio has been developed over the years and the place is a strange combination of eco-friendly attractions and unbridled development that impedes the natural enjoyment of the place. But, it's still got local charm, beautiful views and the weather can't be beat.

Jim's house is a perfect pick if you want to have a good time in the tropics. It's amazing view with stunning sunset, pool for chilling, hammock for reading, spacious rooms with plenty of privacy and light. The house is away from the main street and walking distance to the beach, bars and restaurants. We supposed to stay one day - extended for two days -3 days -4 days and then didn't want to leave. We came back two weeks later. Jim's a stellar host and he makes your staying in Manuel antonio unforgettable. Visiting he's house is a must!

      Perfect Relaxing Getaway

Left on 01/16/2013 for a stay in December 2012

This is such a great house for relaxing and spending time with friends and family. It has an amazing ocean view, with a super clean pool, hammock, and beach chairs. Jim was such a great host, he made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. I loved the free paddleboarding tour because it was something really unique that I have never tried. I loved that there was an outside shower so sand wouldn't get in the house. It was about a 5-10 minute car or bus ride to the beach or Manuel antonio National Park, which was perfect because this house avoids the huge crowds of tourists like the hotels on the beach.

The view of the sunset is absolutely breath taking!

Absolutely fantastic experience, we loved it so much that we even extended our stay. The house is one of the most comfortable and coziest places one can ask for, with a beautiful view of the Pacific and a mesmerizing sunset. Also the location is very convenient, close to all the restaurants, bars and the beach. The service was excellent, Jim made sure that we had everything we asked for, showed us around and made our experience truly unforgettable. Highly recommend this place!

      Great Stay

Left on 10/03/2012 for a stay in June 2012

Stayed here this past June with my fiancé as the middle leg of a three week vacation in Costa Rica. We met up with friends in Manuel antonio and all stayed together at Jims in preparation for our wedding. I shouldn’t say we prepared, because Jim did all the planning for our small ceremony nearby. Our host was very helpful in providing information and insight about the area, things to do and eat and even introduced us to the best chair rental person on the beach (so nice and brought us the best Mojitos)! The house was very conveniently located and if you don’t have a car (which we didn’t) the bus runs up and down to the beach and park and there are restaurants within a short walk. I researched for probably six months previous to taking our trip, and I can tell you for easy access to all of Manuel antonio and the best view at the best price, you won’t find a better place or host. I can guarantee that we will be staying here again if Jim will have us in the future!

      "Casa Jim...The Perfect Place"

Left on 08/08/2012 for a stay in July 2012

How does one describe Casa Jim? Perfect...from the beautiful scenery to the sounds of nature calling...this place was absolutely breathtaking!!! My family and I visited Costa Rica recently (my husband & I and 2 teenage children)and stayed at Casa Jim's. Our senses were filled with incomparable sights & sounds, that created the most relaxing & peaceful vacation. This open-air house has the most amazing view of the pacific...from waking up in the morning to the sounds of the monkeys howling, birds singing and seeing the toucans flying by, to watching the beautiful sunsets. Swinging on the patio hammock enjoying the cool nightly breeze, floating in pool overlooking the moonlit ocean, and smelling the the sweet scent of the Ylang Ylang tree (fragrant tree used to produce perfumes like Channel No. 5) it was all spectacular!!!

Jim was a delight to be around...he was the perfect host!!! Making our stay even better by telling us all about the insider secrets to some great sights in the town of Manuel antonio. Like great places to eat, the perfect beach spots & he offered exciting Stand-Up Paddle Boarding & Kayak adventures. He was a true blessing to our family...making us feel right at home & always being available. His staff was great & courteous too...and his dog Chancho was so lovable!

Jim's house is the perfect place for the ultimate getaway...We all definitely miss Jim & Chancho (the pooch) and the tranquility & peace that his home gifted us with, on our family summer vacation. This vacation was better then what we could have imagined. We can't wait to visit again!!!

beautiful house in a fantastic location with a breathtaking view. walking distance to numerous restaurants and beaches or just a quick bus ride to the rain forest and national park beaches. the open air living room that overlooks the pool that overlooks the mountains and ocean is just amazing. when a storm rolled in one afternoon we kept the floor to ceiling doors open and watched the rain come across the mountains and ocean. the grocery store/market is a stone's throw away from the house and had everything we needed. the house itself has a full kitchen, giant master bedroom with bathroom, a smaller additional bedroom, separate bathroom, laundry, open air living room with tv, wifi, outdoor shower and private pool. and there's probably more that I'm forgetting! being here was the highlight of our entire trip to Costa Rica and we can not wait to plan another trip. we'll definitely be staying here the entire time we're in Costa and not just for part of our trip.

One of the most relaxing stays we've had on a vacation in a long

Left on 07/10/2012 for a stay in June 2012

Let me see if I can properly relate the experience my wife and I had during our stay at "Case Jim”. My wife and I are in our early 50's and this house was a perfect fit for our vacation. I'm not going to elaborate on all of the amazing adventures we participated in during our stay, other than to say this was a perfect location (home base) to branch to our day trips. Now let me tell you about the house itself, amazing. Yes, this is a beautiful open air home, three large section glass paneled door that when open extends the living room out to the deck and pool area. The pictures on this website say it all. Mb is huge, very comfortable bed - A/C unit in MB, never turned it on. Whether you enjoy early morning coffee on the deck listing to the howler monkeys making their morning pass thru the jungle in front of you... or just relaxing by/in the pool at the end of the day watching sunsets over the pacific enjoying something cold (we did a lot of both), this is the place to be! Local Food and Restaurants: most in walking distance and good variety. Enjoy a very nice sit down dinner in the tail section of one of Oliver North's cargo planes or hand-made tamales sold right on the street - Didn't experience a bad meal during the vacation! Jim and his staff were wonderful - if you wanted for anything they had it handled. So would I recommend this house to family and friends... yes! Would we return for repeat vacation... planning on it!

The "open air" living room is incredible and the pool with it's views so wonderful after a day of adventure. Jim is an invaluable guide with the best ideas and contacts and he can also cook! Great restauants in walking distance along with a grocery store. We had the best time and will be back!

The perfect mix of excitement and relaxation

Left on 06/29/2012 for a stay in June 2012

I have been hearing great things about Costa Rica from friends and coworkers for years but my first trip to Manuel Antonio in June 2012 exceeded all of my expectations. Not only did I take advantage of the opportunity to go on numerous excursions (repelling down waterfalls, zip lining, paddle boarding, surfing, hiking in Manuel antonio National Park...) but it is impossible not to relax while staying at this house. The view is breathtaking. You can float in the pool or swing in the hammock and take in the vistas of the hillside and sea and watch for birds flying by.  The sunsets are stunning and the breezes keep the place cool even on sunny days. Jim is the perfect host. From the moment you arrive, you can place your worries in his hands and he will give you a perfect vacation. He sets up excursions, organizes rental cars, recommends the best restaurants, takes you on shopping runs to Quepos, introduces you everyone in town, and teaches you to paddle board- the whole time keeping you amused and worry-free. He will even take you to church on Sunday if that's your thing. The house staff, Orlando and Karen, couldn't be more welcoming. They are cheerful and kind. I would love to stay here again- only longer next time.

Vacation of a lifetime - planning our next trip already!

Left on 06/05/2012 for a stay in May 2012

We had the most fabulous vacation at Casa Jim! The open space living in the house is perfect for enjoying the spectacular views - especially the unforgettable sunsets! The master bedroom is huge and overlooks the Pacific. The home is in a private location but convenient to the local grocer and restaurants. There are lots of exotic birds in the area that we saw from the couch! Its a short walk to the ocean and convenient to public transportation and taxis although we chose to drive.

Jim manages the property and is very generous with advice and his time to make sure your stay is unforgettable. He helped us from flights through activities, what to buy where, rental car, tour guides and return to the airport. He is a uniquely kind and bright person and we are fortunate to have met him. He has the most adorable dog Chancho who we'll also miss!

      Absolutely awful!

Left on 05/31/2012 for a stay in July 2011

Do not stay here. We have rented houses before in many different countries & this was a disappointment. I question how everyone thinks this is a 5 star property? It makes me wonder who really wrote all those other reviews?
While it does have a $1M view, it is $2.00 everything else. It was so terrible that we only stayed 1 night. Our decision to leave was reconfirmed in the morning when we found mouse droppings on the countertop.
-Property is above the busiest road in town. There is no quiet, only constant mopeds & diesel trucks at all hours
-On the bedroom side of the house, the house next door is 1 foot away (not exaggerating, if the windows opened, I could have touched it)
-House next door was under construction (even Sat & Sun)
-Property is above a bar, so you hear music all night & beer bottles clanking into the trash
-Master bedroom (MB) blinds do not open & close. They are missing slats. On 1 of the floors-to-ceiling windows, the blinds do not pull down
-The MB windows facing the neighbors have no blinds so they can see you from their patio
-The MB shower has a glass ceiling, where the neighbors can look down into
-The only aC is in the MB
-Ran shower for 15 min. - never got hot water
-Pump outside MB (guessing bar's water pump or neighbor's) sounds like a motorcycle is in your bedroom. 1x/min until 10pm
-French doors opening to pool are not easy to fold back as they are warped & scrape the tile floor
-Toilet in MB drips all night long
-Banister on the patio has nothing between the railing and the ground, so small children can fall through
-Pool is cloudy green - doesn't look like something you want to swim in
Most upsetting of all is that Jim portrays himself as a kind & honest man, which appears also to be untrue. Although he seemed apologetic about our experience & said he would make arrangements for a refund (see email picture), we never got any of our money back. He began avoiding and not returning our phone calls.

One bad apple does not spoil the entire basket. Feel free to ask me for contact numbers from any of my guest for a personal reference. Ms. Richards decided she was going to write a bad review unless I gave her a full refund. I do not respond to treats and I went out of my way to accommodate this group. I am always willing to work with people and understand that my place may not be the perfect fit for everyone. 26 years I have been here making people have memorable vacations but for some people there is no hope - that is why we recommend Cancun to those people.

Casa de Jim was the perfect spot for our vacation. The views were unreal with the pool deck overlooking the pacific and the mountains. Besides the views the house was in a perfect spot for trips to the beach and rainforest excursions. It was also nice that a grocery store was right around the corner. There were also plenty of restaurants within walking distance which offer both great dinners and plenty of night life activities. There was a full kitchen, laundry room, and large living room which also overlooked the pacific. I'd highly recommend this place for anyone seeking to enjoy all that costa rica offers.

Amazing View & Location + Super Friendly

Left on 05/08/2012 for a stay in May 2012

Had a blast. Awesome house with 260 degree panoramic view of the ocean. View the master bedroom is spectacular. I liked the fold away doors that transformed the living room into an extension of the patio. The location is excellent. There's a grocery store about 50 yards from the house as well as a smoothie stand. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance, both luxury dining and dive places. Try Jose's for the best hole-in-the wall burrito you'll ever have.

Jim was a great host and friend to us during our stay. He's from the United States, but he's lived in Costa Rica for a long time and is knowledgeable about the area. If you want to go to the Manual antonio National Park, ask Jim to set you up with Dago for a guided tour.

      Thanks Jim!

Leave your cares behind once you hike up the slanted driveway and catch a glimpse of your private infinity pool overlooking the calm Pacific. The open air design of this beautiful home puts you instantly at ease, as do the lilting songs of the colorful birds that decorate the dense jungle surrounding. The house was spotless and included a fully stocked kitchen, outdoor shower and separate laundry room, all of which were serviced daily by friendly, unobtrusive staff. I loved the natural flow of each day, which started with a 5 minute walk to a charming coffee joint in "town" and ended back at the house in time for the million dollar sunset. The toughest part of my stay was getting out of the hammock. I can't wait to come back!

      Room with a View...

Left on 04/23/2012 for a stay in April 2012

I'm not sure a review can quite capture how dreamy it was to call Jim's place home for a week. Once inside you feel a million miles away from everything (in a good way) with one of the best, if not 'the' best views in Manuel antonio. Wake up calls were provided free of charge by song birds in the am and the sunset in the photos doesn't do the real thing justice. Amazingly enough, once you step outside the entrance you're immediately in the heart of the local vibe, with cafes, restaurants and local shops less than a 5 minute walk.

I don't have enough space to talk about how special Jim made our stay. He hooked us up with guides, the best local beaches, waterfall repelling and the best food in town. His generosity, knowledge and heart infused our stay in Manuel antonio with something you do not often find.

Run, don't walk to Casa de Jim's place! Be prepared to want to stay longer than your return ticket's date.

This was truly a vacation we will never forget. The views from the house were breathtaking. One of our favorite things after one of our day's adventures was to watch the sunset over the ocean while relaxing in the pool. The house is in a great location within 5 minutes of the beach and national park. Jim is such a tremendous resource and he helped organize all of our activities including, but not limited to, zip-lining in the rainforest, repelling down a waterfall, surfing and paddle boarding lessons and a guided tour of national park. We boogie boarded almost every day and loved seeing all the wildlife, especially the monkeys! We have two teenagers who were less than excited to be on a trip with their parents and they absolutely loved it!!!

This house is a clifftop gem. Picture yourself laying in a hammock, watching the sun set between two cliffs into the shimmering Pacific, with an occasional sailboat drifting across the horizon. No, you're not dreaming, this is Jim's paradise. The staff are wondering and go out of their way to make you comfortable and ensure you have everything you need. Jim seems to know everyone in the area and will happily recommend guides/companies for anything you'd like to do. The house has an ideal location for access to beautiful beaches, the well-known Manuel antonio Park (5 min tax/bus ride), local markets, and a plethora of great bars/restaurants. I recommend El avion (you can enjoy a drink from inside a salvaged military plane in the middle of the jungle!), Cantina (great BBQ chicken cooked over an open fire!), and a fantastic burrito place just down the street too small to have a name. Whether your vacation includes adventure, relaxing, wining/dining (or all three!), you'll certainly find it here. A very relaxing vacation worlds away from our busy New York lives! Thank you!

I could not imagine a more inviting house to go with the gorgeous landscape right outside. Jim is a great help if you are looking for things to do in the area, and he will recommend excellent guides for whatever it is you want to do. Whether it is just laying on the gorgeous beach, checking out the exotic local wildlife, or zip-lining through the jungle, it is all within reach of the house. A stunning house and stay, I would wholly recommend experiencing this little slice of paradise.

      Exceptional rental property!

Left on 05/18/2011 for a stay in April 2011

The first half of my Manuel antonio trip I stayed at a nearby hotel and the second half I stayed at this rental property. I cannot express how superior staying at Jim's property was in comparison to my experience at the hotel. Jim and his staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. I appreciated their efforts to ensure I had the best vacation possible. Jim was an outstanding host and helped me set up jet skiing and canopy tours, which were absolutely fantastic!

The house was extremely clean and the surrounding grounds were beautiful and meticulously maintained. My favorite part of the property was the back deck; I spent many hours in the hammock reading on that trip. Whether you're in the master bedroom or kitchen, your view will be spectacular. Every evening I looked forward to watching the sun set over the ocean, it was truly stunning. While the photos of the house are breathtaking, they hardly compare to how beautiful the views are in person.

In addition, the property is set in a wonderful, safe neighborhood with nearby restaurants, stores, and banks. I would highly recommend renting this property as it was one of the best vacations I have ever had. I definitely plan on returning and staying here!

      At home in Paradise

Left on 04/26/2011 for a stay in April 2011

The photos tell part of the story - unbelievable views, bright and open living space blending seamlessly from indoors to out and oh yes, the views. what you can't tell from the photos is the perfect comfort you experience as a guest. Upon arrival, fresh flowers, fruit and other basics await you along with the most welcoming host and staff imagineable - it's like visiting family (without the drama!). Jim, Emmy and Orlando are always there when you need them and not there when you want some privacy. Friendly local advice and tips about what to do and how to do it, an introduction to some of the local foods, and plenty of warm smiles made me feel right at home. The float in the pool also a nice bonus - as i spent many a lazy afternoon floating above the jungle and sea in my own private paradise. Pura Vida indeed!

Pura Vida...one of the most relaxing vacations ever.

Left on 04/13/2011 for a stay in April 2011

First off, the pictures do not lie. The views from Jim's rental house are amazing. There were times when we were rushing back to the house just to take in the sunset from the deck. Jim and his staff were the best and very accommodating. Jim and his staff took care of everything for us. when we arrived at the place and got settled in, Jim took us around to show us the lay of the land and where everything was located. Any tours or anything that we wanted to do we just told Jim and he arranged everything, no fuss no muss. It was so relaxing that it was the first time on vacation that I took my watch off and left it off until it was time to leave. This was probably the most relaxing vacation I have ever had and a lot of it was due to the location, the house, and to Jim and his staff. I'm already planning on going back in September...Pura Vida!!!

The home was comfortable, relaxing and had everything you needed. My friends and I stayed for a week... the kitchen was so useful. Jim was also the best for guidance and told us the best restaurants to eat at, what to see, and even specific people to request when going on tours and so on. It was really a wonderful experience and I miss this house everyday. Especially the sunsets.

      Amazing, relaxing, hassle-free vacation

Left on 03/20/2011 for a stay in March 2011

We stayed at Jim's house with another couple in March and had the most amazing trip. The house has unbelievable views and is very comfortable and clean. The pool is even bigger than it looks in the pictures and is great for hanging out and relaxing. The sunsets from the deck are unbelievable as well. The kitchen was great for cooking, which we did a few nights. The property in general is very well kept and the staff was friendly and helpful. The housekeeper helped us with shopping and did our laundry, dishes, etc everyday. Jim was the perfect host. He was there if we needed anything, but completely unnoticeable if we did not. It was so nice to go on a vacation where we did not need to research activities, restaurants, etc. He set us up with a rental car, fishing trip, ziplining and national park tour, each of which was a wonderful experience. Anytime we asked for a recommendation for a restaurant, he was spot on.
We were a little concerned about the location of the house because we were not familiar with the area, but the location was perfect. There is a grocery store (which has pretty much anything you would need) half of a block from the house. We also walked to dinner almost every night because there are a bunch of great options nearby. We drove to the beach because we had coolers and a bunch of other toys (provided by Jim), but it is walking distance as well.
Overall, we can't say enough good things about our trip. We hope to come back soon!

Love, love, love the house, atmosphere and beach

Left on 03/05/2011 for a stay in February 2011

Had a wonderful stay here and cannot say enough great things about it. Every day was the same - sunny and warm. The house is lovely and the views in the pictures do not do it justice. Every night is an amazing sunset; the kitchen is perfect for cooking with friends; the living room walls of glass doors open to create an unobstructed link between the patio and the living room, making the house breezy and airy. The infinity pool is refreshing and well maintained by the gardener. The master bedroom is spacious and has a wonderful view of the ocean.

Jim, the owner, lives nearby and has lived in the area for a number of years. He has great suggestions for things to do (like zipline canopy or white water rafting or checking out the rainforest) and will help coordinate them for you if needed. The housekeeper is very helpful, does laundry, helps food shopping and even told us how to make ceviche. Even the gardener cut a coconut for us to drink one day.

Manuel antonio is great for tourists who want to be surrounded by beauty and not the feel of obnoxious big resorts. There are plenty of restaurants or places to get a drink if that's your thing. You can easily fly into Quepos from San Jose too, which is a bonus. Overall, I can't wait to go back!!!

Our stay in Manuel antonio would not have been the same had we stayed
anywhere else. great location - just a short walk to the grocery
store, all the restaurants and the beach. We stayed in Manuel antonio
for more than a week and checked out most of the hot spots, and I can
honestly say that the view from this property's deck is the best
you'll find in town. Jim was the best Host we could have asked
for, and his staff taking care of the property did a great job and
were always willing to help out in any way. Manuel antonio is
beautiful, but some days I just wanted to hang around the house
because it was so amazing and relaxing. My friends and I were beyond
      upset to leave.

The most breathtaking views in Costa Rica!

Left on 12/29/2010 for a stay in December 2010

I stayed in this beautiful little house with three other friends, and it was by far the most fun we have had on a vacation. We woke every morning to a magnificent view of the ocean, and brightly colored birds and butterflies alighting on the deck. The open air style of the house was breezy and well appointed, with a great kitchen to take advantage of all the fresh fish and produce you can buy there. We spent a lot of time in the small swimming pool with an infinity edge, which is the best place to watch the awesome sunsets (wine glass in hand, of course!). The housekeeper was wonderful, and will even do your laundry for you. There is a small market at the bottom of the hill, a two minute walk, where you can buy almost anything you need. You can also walk to the beach, which we did several times. Overall one of my favorite vacation stays ever!

Imagine walking into paradise! You find yourself walking up a quaint little road with a convenient corner store located just a minute away from your house! You will be met with a smile and "Pura Vida" from the neighbors and locals as you walk past the sweet smelling flowers! Once you arrive at the front door, you will think ah... this has a nice beach feel that is private, beautiful and easy to get to... Then you will open the door...and the views will take your breath away!

I spent 10 days in this amazing house, and I could not speak more highly of the place! It is by far the best vacation house I have ever stayed in! Its clean, comfortable, safe and incredibly relaxing! The perfectly sized pool is nicely complimented by a hammock and comfortable seating. The house is fully outfitted with everything you will need and the beds are amazing! The gardens and flowers around the house really give you a feel for the Costa Rican climate, and the service is incredible! You are also a 30 second walk to a bus where you can catch a quick ride into Quepos for the farmers market, shopping or to grab a bus to many beautiful areas right outside Manuel antonio! Or you can go 5 minutes the other direction to one of the most incredible and relaxing beaches I've ever been. Its so close you can even take a gorgeous walk or run if you like! There are many cute restaurants, coffee shops, and tiendas throughout the area, as well as many good bars with great music! If you are interested, the national park has amazing wildlife and beaches, and Jim will set you up with the best guide in town! I highly recommend this rental to anyone who wants a relaxing, beautiful and heart filled experience! Manuel antonio feels like a second home to me now!

Enjoy paradise! And don't forget to watch every sunset because they are all incredible!

      Jim Rescued our vacation

Left on 11/20/2010 for a stay in November 2010

My wife and I vacationed in Costa Rica with our friends in the beginning of November. We were expecting the rainy season to be coming to a close and it was but with a vengeance. We planned to only stay with Jim for 4 days and in another town for the remainder of the trip.
When we arrived the weather was beautiful and the house was amazing. The view alone from pretty much anywhere in the house was enough to floor anyone. I initially thought the pictures on the web page where great but no picture could do the view justice. It was almost spiritual to relax in the pool with a drink and look at the beautiful coast line.
Unfortunately, the rain was unusually heavy for the remainder of our trip and we had to spend a lot more time in the house then we had expected. Luckily we where able to stay at Jim's the whole time and live it up in this great house.
Everything was very clean and really spacious. Plenty of room. The staff was extremely friendly and was around only we needed them.
I would highly recommend this house. The location is perfect. It is located right down the street from a supermarket and a short hike to the beach. We will definitely be coming back.
      Thanks Jim,

      Wonderful stay atop Manuel Antonio

Left on 04/28/2010 for a stay in April 2010

There isn't much I can't say about this place. The house is immaculate. Its white walls and tile provide a great contrast with the incredible, well tended garden of tropical flora that surrounds the house. Everything inside and out is top notch. More importantly, the view is mind blowing. Whether you drinking your morning coffee, catching some afternoon z's in the hammock or floating in the pool at sunset, the moutains rising to the north and the ever expasive coastline and ocean to the west serve to humble and impress. The service was great and friendly, any questions are answered, the place is kept clean. All the neccesities are in place for cooking and staying in, and the bus stop/main road are nearby which makes it easy to get to the beach, the park, and many restaurants in the area. If an inside day is called for, there is a big flat screen with lots of channels, and relaxing in the house with the doors open and the breeze blowing through is awesome. This is a sweet vacation home. I'd recommend it to anyone. (That is, anyone who like to have fun.) Thanks Jim and Co.

It had a stunning view, luxurious pool with all the amenities, hammocks to lounge by the pool, and gaze into the remarkable surroundings that Costa Rica has to offer. The service was impeccable, friendly, and off the charts professional. The rooms are cozy but spacious, clean, and with brigthly colored decor, perfect for a tropical setting. The kitchen was large and convenient for all of our cooking needs. It was great to have a washing machine to finish up our holidays with coming home with CLEAN laundry!! I would definately recommend this rental home, as it is strategically located exactly between Quepos and Manuel Antonio beach, walking distance from a bus stop, convenience store, and local restaurants. The owner and staff are friendly, helpful and resourceful in terms of arranging local tours and general information to share. The view was exquisite and I would gladly come back and visit!!

I stayed a week at "over the rainbow" and cannot wait to return. Upon arriving I thought I was misplaced and was in a movie stars house. The views from the house are probably the best I have ever seen in my life. We actually never wanted to leave the house because you could almost see everything that the area had to offer from the family room, kitchen, pool, and even the bedroom. You can close all the doors and windows if it gets a bit chilly or you can open everything up and feel like you are in a tree house. Monkeys and exotic birds can be seen by the pool and the sunsets are to die for. I showed the photos of the house to friends and they are interested in booking this house in the future. I honestly have no negative comments about this house or location. Pura Vida.

WOW! You have to see this GREAT PLACE!

Left on 03/18/2010 for a stay in February 2010

Where to begin.. An incredible view is the first thing that strikes you when you walk into the open air living room which transitions onto the patio with the infinity pool. The folding doors make this all into one room during the beautiful breezy days. As you lounge in the pool you will watch the toucans, humming birds, butterflys, and many other birds I do not know the names of, flutter about.AND don't miss the monkeys in the trees across the street! There are several small restaraunts within walking distance of this house and the food is great (We suggest the Rosa con Poya (SP?) (Rice & Chicken) at Angels..it is great! The owner, Jim, can give you all the advice as far as where the good food is, activities etc. A must is the tour through the Manuel Antonio National Park (ask for Dagoberto the BEST guide in the park!) We have been to many places, this is by far the best. In addition to the great place to stay, the staff is super helpful and very unobtrusive and friendly. Say hello to Emmy and Orlando when you stay there! You owe it to yourself to see an area of a beautiful country far enough away the "tourist traps" to be authentic, but close enough to activities to be great fun. The beach and National Park are minutes away, as are a small kind of "touristy" town (Quepos...about 5 minutes away). Also a small grocery store a short walk from the house. If you feel adventurous, rent a car (again Jim can get you the best deals) and take a scenic drive around the countryside (Dominical is a great short drive destination). Enjoy the wildlife, beaches, park and waves. Bring your sunblock, the sun is intense. If you are into boogie boarding or surfing the waves are great at the beach. There is a great snorkeling, kayaking place just outside Quepos as well. That about does it as I wanted to share as much as I could about one of the best vacations we have ever had! Stayed Feb.24th-Mar.3rd 2010.
