Description from the owner
This house is located in Bungalows Las Palmas, a group of 16 A-frame houses situated on two and one-half acres of beautifully landscaped grounds, located off the main road which connects Quepos and Manuel Antonio.
Although you are far enough away from the main road not to hear it, you are only a three minute walk away from the bus stop on the main road. The local bus costs about 40 cents US and it takes you to the beach and the famous Manuel Antonio National Park, or into the town of Puerto Quepos. If you are driving, there is off street parking. We are about 7 minutes from town and about 10 minutes from the beach.

Whitby, Ontario, CanadaA month of total serenity
Left on 02/19/2013 for a stay in January 2013
After spending a week in San Jose we were very excited to fly down to Quepos. Upon arriving at the airport, Letty was there to meet us and drive us to the condo, where she gave us a quick tour and then offered to drive us into town to stock up on groceries, which we did. Our first impression of Letty is that she is well educated and had an abundance of information to offer, from pamphlets left in the condo to places to eat. The condo in our mind was everything we needed, we are in our late 40's and have travelled extensively. Our criteria for renting this was the laid back atmosphere and far enough away from any commercialism. We found it very peaceful and quiet, the only sounds were from the wildlife which was wonderful. There is a pool in the complex which is great in the afternoon's when it can become quite hot and sticky. We were within walking distance to the town of Quepos and a short bus ride to Manuel antonio Park. This is not a five star property but if you are looking for value for money and an intimate setting with tons of wildlife, this is the place. We did not end up cooking in the kitchen very much, mostly breakfast, but the large fridge is definitely essential. During the month that we were there we saw more wildlife while sitting on the upper deck than we saw during our hikes through Manuel antonio Park. The washing machine is wonderful and knowing it was there really helped us pack lightly as we could 'wash and wear'. We would definitely recommend this wonderful place, we hope to return. Lance and Letty were phenomenal!

Phoenix, ArizonaA rare bargain in Manuel antonio
Left on 07/30/2012 for a stay in July 2012
We just finished a two week stay at this condo. Letty and Lance own the unit, have lived there, and have put in those special touches like the surge protectors for the computers and the heated linen closet (which is far more valuable than you might imagine).
Letty picked us up at the Quepos airport, and took us to the local market to pick up provisions prior to showing us the condo. If you can imagine living in a condo in the jungle, you will like it here. Be sure to bring extra headlamps or flashlights, as the power can go out with some frequency during the rainy season.
Remember, too, that ants are everywhere (you're in the jungle, after all), so cleanliness in the kitchen is essential. Everything must be sealed, tightly.
The petite "tico clothes washing machine" is really a hoot. It reminds me of how my grandmother washed clothes 40 years ago. It really works great.
If you are looking for a four-star hotel experience, if you must have long, hot showers, and if you require a bug-free environment ... you probably should look somewhere else (and probably choose a different place to visit entirely). However, if you like the idea of camping in the jungle with many of the comforts of home (including cable tv and great internet), and you like the thought of getting a true deal in an area where bargains are few and far between, this condo is for you! -

Loved the condo. It is comfortable and airy. The condo feels likes it is in the middle of the jungle. You will hear/see monkeys and iguanas. The plant life surrounding the condo is beautiful. The owners Letty and Lance are very helpful and for someone traveling alone its nice to know that someone is looking out for you. I plan on returning and renting the condo again! My experience was a good one!

The a frame cottage was basic and certainly a bargain for what we paid. The amenities were quite pleasant depite a nearby cottage doing renovations. This is the first cottage so as everybody passes by and any conversation on the path sounds like they are in the room with you.
the path going up to the condos was probably the only drawback and its isolation if you like to walk to places (mind you there are a few good places within walking distance) and if you are athletic you can walk to Quepos and take the bus back up the hill.
This is not luxary accomodations and for the price an excellent bargain. It is cute and great for a young couple looking for adventure and good and secure place to to stay while in Manuel antonio -

Atlanta, Georgia USALook no further, this is by far the best bungalow at Las Palmas
Left on 09/22/2011 for a stay in August 2011
If you are considering an extended stay in Manuel antonio, this bungalow is a great option. Since the owners lived in the bungalow originally, it's the important little details that set this property apart (immaculately maintained interior and exterior, all outlets complete with surge protectors, washer/dryer, motion lights outside, comfortable bed and furniture, fully stocked kitchen, and my favorite...a heated closet to keep mildew from growing on your clothes/towels). This property also has the advantage of a good breeze and ample sunshine even during the rainy season. On Wednesday and Friday you can hear live jazz from La Hacienda as you take a nightcap on your back patio.
I highly recommend renting the unit, and in fact have already sent a few folks their way...better book your trip while it's still available!!! Pura Vida! -

The stay was excellent. Great communication before arrival for advice on the area and some ideas about what to expect. Was even able to get a ride from the airport without have to take a taxi or shuttle which was awesome after a day of travelling to arrive.
The bungalow itself is located between Quepos and Manuel antonio just off the main road towards the jungle, the view from the balcony off the loft and the screened deck is all treetops and is beautiful during the day and at night. Was there during Green season and the Bungalow stayed quite cool as there was almost always a breeze blowing through. And the thunderstorms at night made for a spectacular lightshow.
Getting around from the condo to the town or the beach was very easy as the busses are frequent and cheap, or you can walk if you feel energetic. The amenities in the condo were excellent, for a longer stay the kitchen is nice if you do not want to eat out all the time, and the bed is very comfortable. The pool area is very nice and clean, and great for if you don't feel like going to the beach.
Letty and Lance were very quick to answer any questions I had to help me get aquainted with the aread, and there was always something to do. I would recommend this condo to anyone who wants to have someplace to relax and take in the sights and sounds of the jungle and have awesome beaches and nightlife only a little ways away. -

We really enjoyed our stay here, it was basic but very comfortable and the closed in porch was fabulous. Being able to make our own meals and do our laundry was a real bonus and plus meeting other people, mainly Canadians at the same location was an added treat. We were located betwen two excellent areas, Quepos and Manual antonio. Taxi's and buses were very close by, but we enjoyed walking to Quepos instead. I'd recommend the local bus to San antonio. When it was time to leave (sadly) we were able to catch the coach straight through to San Jose for next to nothing. Ask your hosts about this.
We also went swimming in the pool at least twice a day but a beautiful sand beach awaits at San antonio if you prefer the ocean
Letty and her husband were kind enough to pick us up when we fly from San Jose. They also took us to pick up a few groceries before introducing us to our new residence. We can't say enough about our hosts. -

Toronto, Ontario,CanadaThe Best Bungalow in Manuel antonio
Left on 09/10/2011 for a stay in January 2010
My husband and I have stayed in this Bungalow many times over the past 13 years While we stayed at others in the area there is no comparison. This clean spacious house has the most privacy and the best opportunity to see the many varieties of bird and animals possible. We spent many days competely content to sit in the screened back porch and enjoy the view of the jungle with the different species of wildlife including monkeys and birds. The serenity is unbelievable. The bungalow has everything you need for either a short or long stay.We had our daughter and 2 grandchildren come for a week during our 2 month stay and we were all very comfortable. The owners have ensured security is top notch - inside and out.The kitchen is stocked with everything you need for cooking at home, bedding and bath supplies are abundant, internet access helps to stay in touch with family without having to go to one of the cafes in town. Having a washer and dryer at the bungalow is an incredible bonus that not many rentals have. This a-frame has a breeze that flows through the house from the great screened windows making air conditioning unneccessary which is unheard of during the high season! There is a beautiful pool in a serene setting that we made great use of. We find the location of the bungalow perfect! It is midway between town and the beach with a two minute walk and you are at the main road with bus access or you can walk to town on an old road that has stunning views of the ocean. We found havng the phone made it very easy to call a taxi for our nights out or to keep in touch with friends. The landlords are like no others we have come across in our experiences. They ensure you have eveything you need not just upon arrival but throughout your stay and will be there at the drop of a hat if anything is required. They were a great source of information on the many activities in the area and can arrange anything that you may require. We cannot think of staying anywhere else but the best bungalow!

Left on 07/15/2011 for a stay in October 2010
We liked this house so much, we rented for a month! Very convenient location between ma and Quepos with bus just at the end of the driveway. We mostly enjoyed the monkey's visiting the home every morning. The screened in porch is especially nice for those rainy days (we were there in October) and the pool was a plus on the very hot days. Las Palmas is one of the nicest settings in the whole area. The owners are very helpful, friendly and showed us all the "must see" spots in the area. Make sure to visit La Hacienda for a drink, it is walking distance from the house! Pura Vida
