CalgaryRelaxing!
Left on 04/15/2013 for a stay in February 2013
My boyfriend and I stayed here last February for one week. It was amazing. House was clean and ready for us to arrive. Owner (Sam) of the guest house lives next door on the property. Sam was very friendly and helpful. He gave us lots of information about the town of Manuel antonio and what was fun to do there. The property was beautifully kept and very safe. The patio on the front of the house was my favorite part. We spent most evenings there relaxing.
The house is located right in the center of Manuel antonio, so it is close to everything. But rent a car, the hills would not be fun to walk up in that heat! It was a great home base for our holiday. I would definitly stay at this property again.
We had to go buy food for our stay and we were directed by Sam to go to the MaxiPali. It is a Costa Rican version of Walmart and they have the best prices for food or anything else you may need to buy. The stores in Manuel antonio are crazy expensive. There are also a lot of good restuarants in Manuel antonio, the food over all was fantastic. Our favorite places for food and happy hour was SalsiPuedes and the Mango Moon.
Heads up for the "offical" looking men with the whistles and safety vests at the public beach and at the entrance to the park. They demand you pay so you can park your car, but they have no right. I gave them something a few times but they are so aggressive it really turned me off from even going down there. In the end, I just ignored them and pretended they were not even there.
A few good tours we went on included:
- the National Park tour, get a guide before you start walking into the park, they will show you a lot of neat things
- Catamaran Tour
- Surfing! My favorite
- Don't go Horsebackriding! The horses are sickly and skinny.
- Also, the beaches in the national park are amazing!
Overall a great trip! I would come back to stay at this property, but this time I would stay longer!

homeSam's place was fine, except for the showers.

We enjoyed the house and it met most of our needs. Sam was accessible as he lives in the house directly above the rental. Kind enough to let us do a light load of wash in his machines. Just a couple of items: The showers were the only thing that he needs to work on a bit. The guest bathroom had such low water flow we couldn't use it. We all used to one in the master bedroom. Problem with that was it leaked on the floor every time. When I was taking a shower the last day, I turned to get more soap and I heard a popping sound behind me. Alas the plastic shower head broke and that was it for that shower. Had to finish with water streaming out of the fixture. When my husband used it next it completely came apart.
It was beautiful inside, but felt like a fortress in a run down neighborhood. The clicker to get in and out of the security gate was a bit tricky at times. The house close to everything we needed. -

Villa Casaloma was a great stay for us and our two granddaughters ages 12 and 10. The house was well located to Manuel antonio. We were able to shop the local grocery and cook in the kitchen. We were glad to find a pizza place open our first night as we had travelled over 20 hours that day. There are lots of nice local and up scale restaurants near by. After getting sunburned at the beach, the afternoon shade over the pool was wonderful. The two large bathrooms were a luxury. The master bedroom also has a dressing area/walk in closet. There is a soccer field a block away. Only cons, the air condition couldn't be run in the main living space and the roosters and dogs woke us up each morning. Yeah for ear plugs. The owner and his wife live next door and speak English. He met us in town and led us to the house.

I absolutely loved my stay. If I could correct one thing, it would be there is no a/c in the living room. I was gone most the time except at night, so it didn't affect me too much. The decks, the pool, the privacy, the house were awesome! A little walk up hill to get to town & the bus, but didn't mind it. Absolutely will stay there again! Would highly recommend!

I spent 10 days in this lovely, privately owned house. It is convenient to the beach, Manuel Antonio National Park, and lots of restaurants and other attractions. This house is clean and well maintained, There is a swimming pool, fully equipped kitchen, large bathrooms and bedrooms, and the owners are always available for assistance. Given the opportunity, I will stay here again and again. I highly recommend this house.

The location was superb. Beach and National Park were a 5 minute ride. Shops and restaurants are walking distance. The villa looks recently built, in great condition with everything working. High sealing, big rooms and a private pool with patio were a delight. It was really nice to have a broadband connection considering parrots and monkeys are swinging outside every morning. The owners were friendly and helpful. A very comfortable stay.
