Beautiful, comfortable, fantastic view, and great location!

Left on 04/27/2013 for a stay in March 2013

Rent this house! If you want a beautiful, updated, spacious and comfortable home. Just about everything you need is already stocked in the house. We loved the gorgeous ocean view, pool, large kitchen and eating area, that was plenty big for our whole group to eat, play games together, and socialize.

Location is perfect to get to the ocean easily. Restaurants, shops, groceries, and the National Park, only minutes away.

Accommodating, professional, and friendly staff is there for whatever you need at any time.

We have rented homes all over the world, and were unusually, and pleasantly surprised to have such an amazing, hands on host/owner. We have never had a host like Donald who was so accommodating and helpful. He sincerely cared about our experience, and was actively involved in making sure our vacation was ideal in every way. We do give Donald much of the credit for making our experience fun, easy, and sooo relaxing, cause we hardly had to worry about a thing.

Thanks Donald and staff for a great adventure in such a beautiful country!

I highly recommend Casa Tranquila. The house is beautiful with all the ammenities that we needed. The views are absolutely stunning and the location is perfect for getting around the area. The owner, Donald, was excellent providing concierge service to meet our every need. He was on hand to help arrange any site seeing or recreational activity we were interesting in and providing exceptional advice about the area. A perfect place for enjoying gorgeous views, viewing the wildlife of Costa Rica, and having a relaxing vacation. It is a truely excellent property, excellent service, and stunning views. I couldn't have asked for more.

Casa Tranquila = perfect 40th birthday escape

Left on 04/07/2013 for a stay in March 2013

Everything about our Costa Rican escape was perfection, including our stay at Casa Tranquila. Donald was the perfect host and took care of every detail for us. We had the most amazing view of the ocean from Tranquila, yet privacy of the gardens surrounding the home -- it was the perfect setting of ocean views and forest/gardens where we had up close and personal visits by the white-faced monkeys and squirrel monkeys. Donald made the perfect connections for us, including canopy tours, white-water rafting, spa massage and even a surf lesson. We had a private cook that made the most tasty meals -- I would say even better than some of the local restaurants! It was simply a trip of a lifetime and staying at Casa Tranquila was heaven on earth. We'll be back.

Relaxing home to unwind in after day excursions experiencing all

Left on 03/23/2013 for a stay in November 2012

From the moment we were picked up at the airport to the drop off at the end of week Donald and his staff made our visit more incredible than we ever expected. All our excursions Donald had arranged ahead of time which made the trip relaxing and each day he'd check in to make sure we were lacking nothing.
The views from the house were incredible and the daily visits from the monkeys reminded you that you really were in the jungle. The kitchen was fully equipped making it easy on this family of five but definitely take advantage of Jessica, the housekeeper, cooking at least one dinner for you during your stay. Delicious!!!
Every recommendation Donald gave us for other restaurants, things to do etc were spot on!
Costa Rica is an incredible place to visit. If and when our family gets back there we would definitely book our stay at Casa Tranquila again!

It was just what we two couples were looking for.

Left on 09/20/2012 for a stay in August 2012

Our family of 4 had the wonderful opportunity to spend 5 days at Casa Tranquila in august and enjoyed every single minute of it. Donald and Jessica take such great care of their guests and ensure you have anything and everything you need while on vacation. Donald has done an amazing job on creating such a wonderful and relaxing home for which to spend your time in Manuel antonio that you won't want to leave! The house and pool were truly amazing and we spent many memorable family hours soaking up the beauty around us and relaxing in a way that we rarely get to do. When we go back to Costa Rica, we will indeed go back to Casa Tranquila - it is heaven on earth! Donald and Jessica, thank you for everything!

      Unbeatable house, host and location

Left on 04/19/2012 for a stay in March 2012

We have rented 20+ vacation properties in the U.S., Caribbean and Europe and, without a doubt, this was our family's best experience yet. Donald Corvette's service and attention to detail is unparalleled. He sincerely wants each guest to have a magnificent vacation. We are usually very independent travelers, but I know our Costa Rican experience would not have been the same without Donald's expertise and resources.

Everything about the property exceeded our expectations. We were a family group of 7, comprised of teens, 20-somethings and 50 year olds, and Casa Tranquila was ideal for us. The bathrooms were even lovelier than the photos. We are serious home cooks, and the kitchen surpasses most rentals by a mile - it's stocked with everything you need. We did choose to have Jessica and Nathan cook dinner for us one night. Good food is important to us, and the dinner they prepared was fantastic. Don't miss this opportunity. And Jessica's impeccable, yet unobtrusive, daily housekeeping visits added to the luxurious stay.

Casa Tranquila and Manuel antonio are the perfect Costa Rican destination. You can be as active as you want - Donald arranged the zip line tour, ma Park nature hike and jet skiing/snorkeling for us - or you can just relax on beautiful, deserted beaches within easy reach. Some of my best memories, however, are floating in the pool and taking in Casa Tranquila's gorgeous views and daily visits from the white-faced monkeys.

We chose not to rent a car and found the local bus to Quepos/ma Park and taxis were all we needed when we didn't walk. Don't miss the Friday night/Saturday farmers market in Quepos! Donald handled all of our transport to/from SJO and it worked perfectly.

We enthusiastically recommend Casa Tranquila and Manuel antonio.

Our stay here was absolutely flawless.
Donald is greater than words could ever explain, he really makes you feel right at home! His organizational skills were amazing, he had everything all set up and ready to go before we even arrived, and if it wasn't for all his help i don't think we would've got to see and do all the things we ended up accomplishing during our stay. The view from Casa Tranquila takes your breath away, it really is in the perfect area! Monkeys visiting you on your porch in the afternoon is also a bonus! There is tons to do around, most things very close to the casa! We really loved how all the people there are very friendly and upbeat, also very Eco-friendly we noticed. All in all a great place to visit and a great place to stay! We miss it so much.

Left on 03/10/2012 for a stay in February 2012

We stayed at Casa Tranquila for an amazing two weeks and were ready to stay forever!! I can only agree with a comment that has been made by numerous previous guests at Casa Tranquila; the pictures do not do it justice.

Donald and his crew were so amazing and so welcoming. As a fairly adventurous crowd we had quite a wish list when it came to tours and Donald never failed to recommend and arrange the best. He is a mine of information and is always there when you need him and discreetly absent when you don't.

The Manuel antonio area is beautiful. Whether you want fantastic beaches, peaceful walks, adrenalin pumping tours or just to chill at the Casa, you will not be disappointed. There are a number of great restaurants within walking distance and plenty more a short drive/bus ride/cab ride away. Donald knows them all and will happily point you in the right direction depending on your mood.

Jessica, the housekeeper, is a gem and the meals that she and Nathan conjure up are superb and plentiful. There was so much food that we even had enough for snacks the next day - not bad considering we had our 20 year old son with us!!!

This was our first trip to Costa Rica but it definitely will not be the last. Casa Tranquila is now top of our "must do it again” list - we just need to work out how to get Donald to let us stay permanently!!!

      Thanks Donald

      Great Rental

Left on 03/04/2012 for a stay in January 2010

      Hi,
one of my favorite parts of renting a home vs. staying at a resort in CR is they always have housekeeping which do your laundry clean and fold!! (included) while we always tip them it is so great to not worry about packing extra clothes especially when you have children and are in a place with many needed clothing changes.
This property is great Location Great, view awesome, layout of rooms incredible, host great (we didn't need a lot of information since we have been to CR numerous times) From the high end products in the bathroom to the overall experaiance we may have well been in a cabana in a high end resort !
Only downthing I can think of is the upper pool deck needed some repair which I am sure has been done by now...
      Tips
The food is great the restaurant up the hill is great, as well as most there plus very resonable. Get a car you can drive to Dominical now it is worth a trip, plus when you go canopy touring you can drive yourself save some money plus leave when your ready not when the bus is leaving...

Left on 01/05/2012 for a stay in December 2011

We arrived late on 12/24/11 after flying all day & meeting in San Jose. Donald had arranged for pick up at airport which was great. Casa Tranquila was laid out for our family perfectly with daughters & partners on ground level & husband & I on main level. Thank heavens for the bedroom air conditioning & fans - slept very comfortably. It is very private & views are stunning. We loved the pool & spent lots of time in it due to the hot & humid temperatures. Location was convenient to several nice restaurants & the very reasonable bus line (50 cents per ride). Looking at the Pacific Ocean from house was incredible. We were surprised by the high food costs & taxes. Donald arranged for us to zipline, tour the Manuel antonio National Forest with guide & go on a Mangrove boat tour - all were amazing & guides terrific. Donald was readily available & very efficient with all plans & follow through. Having meals provided if desired was nice although we only used services twice. We hated to depart this paradise 12/31/11 but so glad we chose Costa Rica for our vacation getaway.

      Island Chic

Left on 08/12/2011 for a stay in May 2011

My family and I stayed at Casa Tranquila in May and had the most wonderful time. The house itself was even lovelier than the pictures conveyed. The decor, as you can see from the photos, is chic and modern but with a laid-back island vibe. It was open and spacious and had plenty of room for our family of four adults, one teenager, one toddler and one infant. There were three bedrooms with full/queen sized beds and a futon in the upstairs living room. Donald, the owner, even provided us with a crib for the baby so we didn't have to pack our own. The house has bath and beach/pool towels, soap, shampoo, etc.

The house was nice and spacious. The ground floor has two bedrooms (each with its own bathroom,) sitting on either side of a living room with a small kitchenette. This floor leads out to the pool area. From the pool area, stairs lead up to another deck with outdoor dining table, more lawn chairs and the outdoor grill. Then a few more stairs up is the second floor of the property, which has another bedroom and bathroom, and a larger open living area with seating area, dining area and kitchen.

The kitchen was great and fully stocked with plates, utensils, pots, etc. And even the pantry is well stocked with items such as salt, pepper, oil, hot sauce, etc. We went to the local markets and enjoyed eating most meals at home, although we did take several of Donald's recommendations and ate a few dinners out. We also made good use of the outdoor grill.

There are a few small things I want to point out. My family didn't feel any of these diminished our enjoyment of the property but figured I'd point them out for full disclosure: First, the two floors are only connected from the outside. This could be slightly annoying if it rained at night and we'd need to move back and forth between floors, but really we didn't find it at all an issue. Second, the bed in the biggest room on the ground floor is a little uncomfortable. The mattress is soft but the bed frame supporting the mattress is just slats of bamboo spread a little far apart so the mattress kind of sinks between the slats after you lay on it awhile. We were out and about and nice and tired by the end of everyday so we slept fine all week, but it definitely would have felt better if there was a firm plank supporting the mattress instead of just the slats. Last, the ground floor is a little musty smelling. But we would open the windows and patio door and turn on the fan as soon as we got home to air it out and it would be fine after a little bit.

Again, none of those few nits were a big deal to us and we absolutely loved the house. Now, as others have mentioned, aside from the house itself, the best part of staying at Casa Tranquila is Donald himself. He was extremely helpful before and during our trip. He helped us book all our tours. He has tour companies who he recommended but also was more than happy to book ones that we found ourselves (which I appreciate because sometimes you get owners who only book with certain tours because they get perks or kick backs or something). During our stay, Donald gave us restaurant recommendations and frequently checked in with us to make sure everything was going smoothly. Donald is helpful, warm and friendly and we felt free to call him before and during the trip if ever we had questions or concerns. I have done other vacation rentals and the type of attention and service Donald gives is really special!

Oh one tip: I recommend renting a car if you have a few people. There are a couple restaurants and a market in walking distance but most things are spread out and there's no sidewalk to walk on. Also, a 4WD vehicle is recommended as the house is down a bumpy, at times steep road off the main road, and the driveway for the house itself is on a fairly steep incline.

One last word of praise for Casa Tranquila: The gate to the property and the door to both floors of the house have locks. At first we didn't think anything of this, but the family staying in a house next to ours stopped by one morning to warn us that they had a burglary the night before. Apparently their house did not have a lock! No one was harmed, luckily, just electronics, etc. stolen, but a horrible thing to happen during your vacation!

So, bottom line, my family and I would highly recommend Casa Tranquila!!

Thanks, Kathy ! You and your family were a joy to have as my guests here at Casa Tranquila. Thanks for the warm words about your vacation. I am happy you understand that anytime someone stays in a home that is not his/her own, there are always minor adjustments to make. Thanks for "rising above" those differences. I also discovered that the issue next door was a safety precaution that the (perhaps overly efficient) villa manager had taken. The items had only been placed by him in a more secure location within the home, not removed. His guests were very happy to find those. My faith in the safety of Manuel Antonio was restored!
It was such a pleasure having you here. Please come back soon.

This house was everything described, and more. The photos are accurate. Not only is Donald the owner, but he serves as your personal concierge - we just told him what activities we wanted to do, and a few days before we arrived he emailed us an itinerary. He called or stopped by every day to check in and give us more details about the next-day's activities. And, being a local member of the community, he connected us with guides, etc. who were also locals, we felt like we not only had the inside scoop, but we were halfway to being locals ourselves! Other reviews mention this, but I can't say enough about the property location. We were nervous about being "trapped" without a car, but we trusted Donald and it turned out the lack of a vehicle was liberating. As a typical Western-American, I drive everywhere, so was leery of the 'it's a short walk' comments. But it's basically 2 blocks up a moderate hill to the main road and then everything else is a short stroll, local bus, or taxi ride away. While everyone in ma was friendly, Donald made us feel like part of the family.

      Casa Tranquila is a no-brainer

Left on 07/06/2011 for a stay in June 2011

Our stay at Casa Tranquila made our first trip to Costa Rica most memorable. It was a comfortable and luxurious home base. Donald was our transportation and tour planner extraordinaire! In fact, he went above and beyond the call of duty by helping out our entire group of 25 people...I could not have done it without him. All of the tours and services he recommended were superb. And we did a lot: ziplining, jetski tour, ATV tour, and a private catamaran sail. Jessica kept us in order and cooked great breakfasts. The rooms are situated in such a way that we all had privacy and the common areas are great for socializing and relaxation. The view is exceptional and I often got distracted watching the colorful birds and, of course, the monkeys. We did not rent a car but found it quite easy to get around because of the central location. We had great meals at Aguas Azules and Bambu Jam. Favorite hangouts were Byblos' bar and the Marlin at the beach. Our weather was fabulous...I am convinced that Donald ordered that up for us also! We've stayed in many vacation homes all over and the difference here is the attention to detail and the personal service...we miss you so, Donald, Jessica, Nathan, and Chelsea...our new Costa Rica friends.

      First Time in Costa Rica

Left on 05/30/2011 for a stay in February 2011

Our trip to Costa Rica,February 2011 was my first. It was planned by my partner's brother, as he has been there many times before and knew where it would be nice to visit. There were 5 of us in total. We stayed a week at Casa Tranquila in Manuel antonio. The Casa was breathtaking and close to everything you need. Donald and his housekeeper Jessica made sure everything was perfect upon our arrival.
A terrific thing about the Casa was the beautiful pool, so refreshing. The local Kisskadee bird and occasionally spotting the basilisk shyly tanning were also daily treats for me.
We eat at many wonderful restaurants that Donald will be happy to recommend to you. We spent an afternoon on a Pontoon cruise with drinks, dinner, and snorkelling. Another spent driving along the coast enjoying awesome sights. Our last day, we took the 5 minute drive to Manuel antonio National Park. It was wonderful spotting different animals & birds that live in the park. At the end of the park you will find the nicest beach of all in Manuel antonio. Soft sand, comical monkeys and the most breathtaking turquoise waters.
Everyday, our Casa was perfectly cleaned by Jessica. We hardly even knew she was there. Donald was a phone call away, if we needed something or wanted information he was ready to help. One afternoon I got a massage from Todd, recommended by Donald. He came right to the Casa and was very professional. All I can say is "wow”, the best massage I have ever received in my whole life. I highly recommend a massage from Todd!
If you're a first time visitor to Costa Rica, or you have been there many times before, I highly recommend going to Manuel antonio and booking a stay at Casa Tranquila with host Donald Corvette. It has everything you need for a wonderful relaxing holiday and is close to everything.
A personal Thank you from me, for helping me feels welcome and comfortable enough to enjoy and explore the beautiful paradise called Costa Rica.

      Best Family Vacation ever!

Left on 04/11/2011 for a stay in March 2011

Our Spring Break in Manuel antonio, Costa Rica was amazing! The owner of Casa Tranquila, Donald, was key to our successful trip. He advised us of restaraunts, activities and beaches. It was comforting to have someone who understood our sense of adventure, but also understood the caution we had with 3 boys of varying ages. Food was spectacular everywhere we went. Kapi Kapi was our favorite, as well as Desiree cooking our dinner at Casa Tranquila one night. We also loved agua azul! Cafe Milagro has great breakfast, too. All of us enjoyed the serenity of the pool after an exciting day of atving to the rainforest, or ziplining through the jungle or hiking around the park (Gamma is the best guide ever!!). The memories will last a lifetime. One thing to note about many of the houses in Manuel antonio...often bedrooms are separated by outside stairs, so traveling with small children who need to be near the parents at all times would be an issue. Just make sure you know the sleeping arrangements and how one gets from all the bedrooms to the living spaces. Many houses have outside stairs as opposed to inside staircases. Again, it was a fabulous trip and Donald was extremely helpful.

We (3 couples) had a fabulous week at Casa Tranquila. The house is beautiful, the view of the ocean and park incredible, and Donald was the perfect host. There is lots to do in Manuel antonio- the park, the mangrove tour, the butterfly gardens- but we especially loved the Sunset Sail tour that Donald arranged. In spite of all the other activities,it was hard to pull ourselves away from the house. It was so peaceful just sitting on the pool deck or upper level deck- watching monkeys and beautiful birds, reading, floating around the pool and enjoying a daily Happy Hour! The house is in a great location and we could walk to many of the wonderful restaurants Donald suggested. We hope to return some day soon!

Don Corvette is an incredible landlord, and rapidly became a friend. He arranged for our car rental, and all our activities. He called us after each event to make sure we enjoyed ourselves, and that everything went well.
We were 3 couples traveling together, and found the house to be extremely comfortable - plenty of space for us to all be together, and enough room for privacy when we wanted it. A group of 6 friends enjoyed a week at Casa Tranquila in mid-January. We were all in agreement - it was perfect! As the "travel agent" for the group, there was a bit of trepidation on my part that the home would live up to it's description and online pictures -- well it did and more. Beautiful setting, lovely decorating, perfectly maintained -- and our own concierge service in Donald and the faithful Chelsea. Donald's knowledge of the area and willingness to be as visible or invisible as you wish would have been worth a non-existent extra fee. Take his advice on dining choices and tours - you won't be disappointed. Costa Rica and Casa Tranquila is highly recommended for a group of friends or a family. We enjoyed every minute.

      No worries

Left on 12/06/2009 for a stay in December 2006

Our family vacation was a spontaneous trip planned just three weeks before we left. Having booked the airline tickets we turned out attention to booking a place to stay. Well...as you can imagine that was a bit more difficult than we had thought. Donald stepped right in, while his place had a hold on it, he graciously began to help us look for an alternative if his place remained booked. As luck would have it, one week later, due to a change in travel plans of his other guests we found ourselves heading for Casa Tranquila. Now remember, Donald had been in touch with us for a week, looking for other places not associated with his property and during that time I found him to be a man of Integrity, humor and kindness.
In the end, we had with Donald's help, arranged for a driver to meet our plane, take the 6 of us across country to Manuel Antonio, arranged a white water rafting tour for Christmas day, deep sea fishing, horsebackriding, engaged the services of a chef, including a day at the local markets with him so the kids could participate in preparing for the meals. The views were breathtaking, the service impeccable, the stay one that we will cherish in memory for years to come. Donald is a host you can count on to provide a 5 star stay regardless of what you plan or what you spend. I love this place!
Every day the home was cleaned and cared for, the pool always ready and inviting, services extended and provided by not only locals but trusted friends of Donalds. We felt at home and cared for in every way. There is nothing that we did not like and treasure our time there, three years later...

Left on 11/30/2009 for a stay in March 2009

I had the most wonderful time staying at Casa Tranquila.

I didn't really know what to expect, never having been to Manuel Antonio, and considering I made a reservation 2 days before my arrival. I drove down this secluded side street to Casa Tranquila which was convenient walking distance to the grocery store, bars, beaches, and restaurants. As I walked through the gates I found an amazing exterior with pool, outdoor shower, comfy lawn chairs, bbq and great eating area, all overlooking the most spectacular view. When I walked in the interior, it was hip and stylish and all the appointments from the bedrooms, showers, living areas, kitchen, and patios were all more than the on-line pictures represented. This is when I knew I got Lucky!

I was greeted by the property owner and his staff. They were friendly, engaging and respectful, and understood that a beautiful home and view are only part of the experience. The owner and I spoke for awhile and it was quite apparent that he would be personally tending to all my needs while in town. It was nice to rent a house and not just get a key, but to get a full service staff. There were many things in my 18 day stay that the owner arranged for me, and they were all done without a glitch. The most incredible thing though was when I asked him to arrange a private yoga instructor to come to the house. He had never done it before, but with in no time it was arranged. I never had to make more than one phone call to get anything done, it was so convenient. The owner of Casa Tranquila is such a lovely, warm endearing person, and his desire to enlighten and heighten your experience is what makes this such a special place. You really leave knowing that you have a second home in Manuel Antonio and a life-long friend. This is what I call fate!

Casa Tranquila was integral to my Costa Rican experience. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

I stayed at Casa Tranquila with family on vacation in the begining of Feb, 2008.
We were well taken care of and felt we had someone to call on at anytime!
The accomodations were perfect and we felt right at home! The home is also very well taken care of, definitely recomended! If we had any questions or concerns our host (Donald) was just a quick phone call away. The chef that came to cook for us was well worth it - the food was incredible!!!
We took a Snorkeling/sunset/sightseeing cruise, and Canopy tour (recomended through Casa Tranquila) and they were both tons of fun. The Cruise is good for anyone, and the conopy tour more so for the adventurous ones! Also the National Park is a great place to see some animals if you go early, although we saw the most animals in our own back yard!
It was easy to get around and hail a cab or hop on the bus. When geting in the cab make sure the price is decided before they drive off though otherwise you may end up paying more than you expected.
I loved Costa Rica and staying at Casa Tranquilla made our trip even better!!!

Left on 11/14/2009 for a stay in February 2008

Casa Tranquila is not some guy renting out his home to make some extra money. This is a former corporate professional running a serious business and loving every minute of it. The accomodations were accurately represented - beautiful and perfectly situated between Quepos and Manuel Antonio National Park. This property works perfectly for 3 couples. We happen to like to cook (and caught our own Mahi Mahi which provided 3 meals for the six of us). The kitchen is well equiped. Having the option of eating inside or out on the deck was a bonus. Our host arranged for a chef to prepare dinner for us one evening. The food was magnificent and the characters delightful.

Juan and Jessica kept the house and grounds in emaculate condition throughout our stay though we hardly knew they were there.

Our host did a fabulous job of providing accurate and helpful information prior to our trip...from whether to drive or fly from San Jose, to whether or not to rent a vehicle, to where to exchange currancy and many many more insights into the local culture and economy.

He arranged all of our excursions in advance, provided helpful tips of ways to maximize each experience, and confirmed details each day with us and the guides.

This is the first time in all of our adventures that my husband is interest in a return trip. It may have something to do with catching a sail fish and seeing whales which were both on his bucket list.

Left on 11/13/2009 for a stay in September 2009

Nearly a month later, all six of us who visited Costa Rica together are still excited about our memorable moments at Casa Tranquilla. Of course, we knew we were on to something special when Donald, the Casa’s owner, devoted so much time and experience to arranging our tours—zip lining, hiking at Manuel Antonio Park, snorkeling, kayaking—and he knew and provided the best. What a treat it was when we returned to the Casa each day to know that our shimmering blue pool above the dazzling Pacific had been cleaned and was ready for a relaxing swim. And, what a great feeling when we entered the Casa itself to know our thoughtful maid had refreshed the colorful Bali décor in each room to perfection. The Casa featured three bedrooms where none of us felt we were taking second place to another. The living areas were comfortable and inviting, too. We thought we would need to go to Manuel Antonio Park to experience the wildlife, but instead we found it all around us. Colorful birds and two troops of monkeys visited our patio and there’s nothing quite like being awakened by a chorus of howler monkeys just yards away. Hospitality, shared experiences, décor, pool-side elegance, birds and animals, spectacular vistas—and all for what was certainly a great value..Casa Tranquilla.

When pampering is a necessity, Casa Tranquila is the place to do

Left on 11/13/2009 for a stay in February 2007

We had the incredible good fortune to have Casa Tranquila recommended to us by a friend. We threw our normal hesitancy in booking this type vacation away and just went for it. What a blessing it turned out to be! It was February 2007 and my family had been going through a crisis. We left the snow and cold rain behind to absorb the healing tranquility of Casa Tranquila. Don communicated with us every step of the way and made the foreign travel unbelievably easy. We had a mere 4 hour non-stop flight from Charlotte and left the plane to bright warm sunshine.

The house was arranged to perfectly accommodate our family while giving privacy to my husband and me. The monkeys running across the pool area provided daily entertainment and the fresh tropical fruit smoothies became a daily treat.

We relaxed and felt the stress melt away. We especially enjoyed the Mangrove Boat Tour Don arranged for us. He also booked a fishing excursion and provided a chef to cook our catch along with native Costan Rican dishes. It was heavenly.

We sent gloating emails to our friends when we listened to the news about the Jet Blue airplanes being stranded in the snow, and we toured the national park seeing animals we never dreamed of seeing.

Our first trip was so perfect, we went back in June 2009. That time, I treated myself to a Tropical Treatment at Spa Uno while my friends went on the zip line. There's something for everybody at Casa Tranquila even if it's simply sitting by the pool and gazing at the Pacific.

They say the 3rd time's the charm, and my next trip is already booked for May. I can't wait!

I stayed at Casa Tranquila for 8 nights in April of this year. The host of Casa Tranquila was very informative and helpful not only when I was there but prior to my arrival. Donald is professional in his approach to satisfy your vacation needs with a personal touch. All the details were taken care of in the house as well as the tours that I wanted to take part in when in Costa Rica. The property is convenient to all the restaurants, bars, and bus stops. I walked to the beach from Casa Tranquila every day (about a 25 minute walk) and ended the day in the pool with magnificent views of the Pacific. Waking up in the bamboo bed with a view to kill for; there was nothing to do but relax. And if you're lucky, you'll see monkeys and other wildlife on the property and in the neighborhood. I had 8 great days and would always check availability at Casa Tranquila on my return to Manuel Antonio.

We were 2 families (4 people in one, 2 in another) traveling together, and
this was a perfect place for us. There was plenty of room and plenty to do--
tour of the national park, whitewater rafting, zipline tour, etc. Donald could
not have been more helpful in providing information and arranging
activities for us--he himself is one of the property's greatest assets! Great
access, great views (construction excepted), a beautiful, well-appointed
house and pool. The only downside was construction directly across the
street while we were there, but this could not have been foreseen and is
presumably short-term. We had a car, but you could easily stay here
without one and do all you want to, by walking, taking short cab rides, etc.
      Recommended without reservation!
