Just returned from a 10 day stay at Casa Sandra ma. It was so beautifull. The house is huge, Clean, fully equipped, Wifi...even has a Garage. The main and upper floors have balconies with ocean views. Every afternoon coming from the beach we would watch the sunset. What a view! The Villa is exacly as you see in the pictures.
The casa is very well located. Restaurants, bus, taxi stand, grocery store all within walking distance no need for a car. There is a bus that will take you to Manuel antonio or Quepos @ 55 cents. My wife would walk down to the beach every day watching the birds, monkeys, so funny..and use the bus to return.
Thomas & Hazel were always there and easy to reach when needed. Hazel arranged a tour @ the ma Park with Henry the guide and a massage at the Villa. We felt safe using their recommendations and we were not disapointed.
Thank you very much for sharing your beautifull home!
It was our 1st time in ma and would definitely return to Casa Sandra without any hesitation!

Left on 01/29/2013 for a stay in January 2013
So after we left La Fortuna, we drove to Manuel antonio to stay at Casa Sandra, and were not disappointed!
The house is on a hill overlooking rainforest and the ocean, has gorgeous views of the ocean and accompanying sunsets, and we were visited by toucans, a very loud flock of green parrots, an anteater, a troupe of monkeys (more on that later) frogs, geckos, and other animals and birds that came in from the rainforest below. No, we did not feed (or eat) any of them.
The house itself was super clean, well appointed with two full bedrooms, one on the top floor one on the bottom, both with plenty of room and privacy for us and another couple. There are decks on each of three floors, all with nice views, but the upstairs bedroom view is the best. The main floor is spacious and has a large couch and a chair along with a dining room table, an open kitchen and bar with barstools, and a ½ bathroom.
The kitchen is smallish, but who cares, you’re not a chef and you’re in a cool vacation rental in Costa Rica and we managed to make two substantial dinners for four with no problems at all. There is a dishwasher, coffee maker, blah blah blah, everything you need to cook while on vacation.
There are numerous restaurants within walking distance, and a convenient grocery store, “Super Joseth”, with overpriced groceries, very close by. For cheaper food, etc. go to the “Maxi-Pali” on the way into Quepos. We had slightly pricey but very good Italian food at Victoria’s, and awesome and cheap fish tacos at Sancho’s both a two and five minute walk away, respectively.
Figuring out where to find a phone in Quepos to call Thomas when we arrived was annoying to say the least. We had to buy a phone card and then have someone help us out using it since it was in Spanish. There has to be a better way to get directions to the house than looking for a payphone in a strange town. And beware the driveway! Get everyone out of the car before you pull in and out or you will be bouncing the bottom of your car off of the hump at the top of the driveway!
Once we arrived and were settled, though, we loved the sounds of the night and morning as well, and watched the geckos and frogs chase bugs during a rainstorm, and during the day had a couple of yellow and green billed toucans fly around the trees below and onto the tree next to the deck. Monkeys appeared twice in four mornings, first in the trees on their way up the hill, and then the next day on their way down the hill, when they appeared out of nowhere and scared my wife when they overran the upstairs deck while she was reading! I had to chase them out of the upstairs room, but we laughed while the monkeys climbed the hanging chairs, played with the water in the soaking pool, and generally lounged around the deck while we remained inside the house, filming all the while.
We also spotted an apparently very itchy anteater on one of the trees below which was very cool. Who knew anteaters climbed trees?!
The concierge, Thomas and his assistant Hazel, arranged a great tour of Rainmaker with their naturalist guide, Henry Pizarro Espinoza, who pointed out the ants, snakes, and birds, and guided us through the trails and waterfalls at Rainmaker. The next day we went to Manuel antonio, a mere 5 to 10 minute drive, where we saw sloths, monkeys, butterflies, and beautiful beaches! On our final day we drove ~1 hour down to Playa Uvita and the Ballena National Park which has huge stretches of unpopulated beaches. Straight out of a postcard! Just make sure you hit the area at low tide or you may not be able to access a large portion of the beach.
We loved it at Casa Sandra! The house is beautiful, located right next to Manuel antonio in a nice neighborhood, and is surrounded by numerous restaurants within walking distance. Go, you’ll love it! -

Left on 06/21/2012 for a stay in June 2012
Pros:
--Wonderful views.
--Walk to town.
--Whole-house aC.
--Plenty of hot water and water pressure.
--Tastefully decorated all-around. Feels like a real house that real people live in, not just a rental.
--Highly professional, extremely helpful concierge fluent in four languages.
--Secure garage and house security system.
Cons:
--Jacuzzi was non-functioning during our stay. However, the owner has already stated that it's being fixed, and offered us a discount on future stays.
--King bed in master suite was actually two twin mattresses joined together. The seam between the two mattresses is annoying, especially for newlyweds/couples.
The way the house is laid out would make it ideal for two couples. The downstairs suite is comparable to the master, with nice bathroom and patio, and is two floors away from the master.
One of the highlights was the laminated activity manual that came with the house. Select an activity, and call the concierge, who takes care of everything. Big stress reducer, and the ease of setting up an activity incentivized us to do more during our stay. All of the tours we did were very professional, so I suspect some effort went into picking out the best providers. -

We had an incredible stay at Casa Sandra! The house is gorgeous. It has all the amenities you could ask for (gorgeous verandas, really comfortable bedrooms, and amazing bathrooms!). It was so comfortable and in such a beautiful setting that we found ourselves staying in, cooking and enjoying the sunsets quite a bit. The house is warm and inviting and in a wonderful location (walking distance from many restaurants and bars) and a quick cab ride to others and the beach. You can also take the bus to most spots and the bus stops just down the road from Casa Sandra. We couldn’t have asked for a better house to stay in for a wonderful week in Manuel antonio.
The staff was a+ as well. Thomas graciously arranged for our transportation from the San Jose airport after offering many different options, pricing, etc. Kathrin was extremely well versed in all that the area has to offer. We booked our sunset sail (incredible!) and our tour of Manuel antonio Park with Henry through Kathrin (another must do!) and she also gave us a great itinerary of beaches to visit outside of Manuel antonio because we were feeling adventurous and in the mood to set out and see a different area one day.
Our trip consisted of beach, beach and more beach with a few excursions thrown in throughout the week. We always loved coming home to Casa Sandra after a long day in the sun and before heading out to what became some of our favorite restaurants in the area (Victoria’s, Barba Roja and Kapi Kapi). -

We made the right choice with Casa Sandra. The communication and great attention to detail was a great asset to our vacation. No worries on mapping out your activities. The staff ensures your alligned with activities that suit your interest. The villa had all the creature comforts of home. Having a plunge pool and beautiful view of the Pacific is an extra bonus. We were able to see a Howler monkey and two Toucans our first day!
The location works well with the supermarket and restaurants within walking distance.
We really enjoyed the flexibility of the villa. We were able to do what we wanted, when we wanted. You would not have the same experience at a commercial resort. The only negative was our one week vacation. Too short a stay! -

Left on 10/16/2011 for a stay in August 2011
I stayed in this home with my family which included a 9 and 10 year old. While the house was not walking distance to the beach, and is located up a hill about a block from town, the drive to gorgeous beaches was short and cheap to park. There were many locations to walk to for dinner and a corner convenience store. The views from the balcony were outstanding. The home was fully stocked with all the comforts from home. If you travel with kids, you'll enjoy the home, but a heads up,they will be two floors away at bedtime...which we were fine with. We used the balcony every day and enjoyed watching the monkeys arrive daily. The pool is really like a giant soaking tub, not one you can do laps in...but we spent all day at the beach, so really didn't have the energy to use it after a long day. Overall, you will truly enjoy this home!! We loved it.

My husband and I had a wonderful 8 days'stay in Casa Sandra early December...loved the 180 degree views of the Pacific and awesome sunsets from the 2 terraces. We are seasoned travelers and rented Casa Sandra over the internet after conducting significant research into the Manuel antonio area. The owners responded immediately and in no time our stay was arranged. Upon arriving, we immediately fell in love with the house, within walking distance to wonderful restaurants, a great coffee shop and grocery store and is halfway between Quepos and Manuel antonio, at most 15 minutes drive. A public bus stop is very close.
The house is very well maintained and well appointed and could not have been more comfortable. The open living/dining/kitchen is huge, as is the spacious master bedroom on the upper level with king size bed, AC and fans, which opens out onto a terrace with splash pool -large enough for 4) and swinging chairs. The lower deck on the living room level has comfortable lounge furniture and 2 hammocks. The natural light , breeze and views are hard to beat .
There is a great property manager, who was very helpful assisting us in any way.
We can recommend Casa Sandra 100% -- you will not be disappointed.

This is actually our second stay in this home in this paradise. The home continues to be a source of great comfort, wonderfully furnished to fit the lifestyle of Costa Rica and the location is perfect! We were walking distance to grocery, restaurants and a healthy walk to beach down winding roads if you wish. Spectacular views from the home which include monkeys, many colorful birds and one morning we saw a rare sight, a large sloth actually in motion eating! The owner has supplied several nice references and guest books which provide a lot of information about the area, contacts for tours, etc. All in all a perfect way to spend time in Costa Rica with the amenities of home and living in the natural beauty that is Costa Rica. Pura Vida!

Our first impression was wow. It is large and roomy. It is clean and tastefully finished. We felt comfortable, relaxed and at home. It is an easy few minute drive to Manuel antonio or a few minute walk to the grocery store. Careful driving into the garage but Thomas will point that out. Great views in the evening. We didn't turn on the TV because there were monkeys, hummingbirds and lizards to see outside.
