Añoro is a unique word with no direct translation. It is pronounced 'ahn-your-o' and in Spanish refers to deep desire for something missing in your heart.

Completed January 2013, Casa Añoro is the newest luxury home in Manuel Antonio. Casa Añoro rests on one of the highest points in town in an exclusive community of multi-million dollar homes.

The villa was designed by Michael Cunningham who has owned homes and managed dozens of properties in Manuel Antonio for many years, including the award winning CasaTolteca. Casa Añoro will become his personal home in 2014. In other words,... this year is the only chance you have to see Casa Añoro before it is taken off the rental market.

Indoor / Outdoor Living:

Open the entire 20 foot wall of windows separating the indoor great room with the outdoor terrazza to give you almost 1000 square feet of great-room living area, completely covered by beautiful slabs of exotic coral stone flooring. Take two steps down to the pool area for even more lounging space.

Of course, the entire home does have air-conditioning, but you will probably never need it since the home was designed to capture the breezes and sweep them through the house.

Gourmet Kitchen:

The owners love to eat, drink, and entertain and have actually attended culinary school. The kitchen is equipped to please any chef. The 12 feet of counter space contains Bosch, Kitchen Aid, and Decor appliances. In addition, there is a 9 foot island to prepare and serve food. Of course, the wine refrigerator is available for your use.

Limited Stairs:

Manuel Antonio is a very hilly town forcing virtually every home in town to have many stairs. However, Casa Añoro has all the essentials on one floor. Park your car and walk in the front door, the master bedroom, kitchen, living area, and outdoor terrazza are all on one floor making it handicap accessible. There are only two steps down to the pool level.

Ultimate Location:

Casa Añoro is located at the very end of a private road, overlooking the famous Gaia reserve. This means no cars, traffic, noise, or even other people will ever go past the home. You are in complete privacy surrounded by rain forest, our gardens, and acres of private nature reserve... yet you are just 2.5 minutes from the main road where you will find dozens of restaurants and small shops.

Huge panoramic ocean views stretch across the horizon allowing you to have perfect ocean sunsets every night, any day of the year.

Unique Pool:

With the corner or our infinity edge pool facing straight up the coast line, you can daydream as you watch the surf breaking on miles and miles of shoreline. The large pool also includes a sitting area at the far edge where you can relax and enjoy the views while having a cool drink. Even the tiles in the pool are unique... made from imported light blue Italian glass with gold veins to catch the light.

  Casa anoro is perfectly situated to enjoy spectacularly colorful sunsets over the water. Mornings are equally gorgeous as birds chirp and sing. We enjoyed seeing many tropical birds including a tucan who visited us several times. The house has spectacular views with floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding doors, and the cliff-side setting leaves you feeling like you're suspended in nature. The locals are friendly and truly appreciate the tourists. It's a perfect location to enjoy luxurious relaxation after morning adventures. We enjoyed a guided nature walk, mangrove boat tours, and invigorating ziplines, but the highlight of the vacation were the quiet hours spent at Casa anoro.

  Absolutely amazing property. Plenty of room for 6 people to socialize but also has private balconies and spots to have some private time to read, or just enjoy the perfect weather and beauty of the rainforest. Trip up the mountain to the Casa is a challenge and I would definitely recommend a 4 wheel drive vehicle. That said, the view is 100% worth it and Thomas, the concierge lead us up the first time. Mike, the owner is easy to work with and his Thomas's assistant, Hazel was fabulous. She arranged all of our adventures and even did some last minute rearranging without a problem.
  The property is beautifully furnished and well equipped for meal preparation. A personal chef is available but we just never got around to that. However, I am sure we would have been pleased. We went white water rafting, zip-lining, some went on the Rain Maker Tour and we also had a boat tour through the Mangroves with Manuel antonio Expeditions. All these awesome adventures were recommended and arranged by Mike's staff.
