Description from the manager
SIBLEY COTTAGE is cared for by OceanEdge in Manzanita—on-site help for renters as needed.
Brand new to our lineup and sure to make waves, this beautiful cottage will take your breath away. The scent and warmth of pine fills every room. The cottage boasts an old world charm that is simply enchanting, and it sits in the heart of Manzanita only two blocks from the beach. Designed and built by a Manzanita original, rock mason Frank Sibley, the new owners lovingly restored and remodeled it.Generous split light windows let in plenty of natural light, and a spiral staircase leads from the great room to the king loft. Sibley Cottage was absolutely adorable. The location was perfect. About a block from the main street and about 2 blocks from the beach. We would go back in a hot minute.

Lovely cottage at a great location. It's a short walk to the beach which is great with the kids. The bunk bed is also a big hit.

Portland, OR, United StatesGreat Long Weekend at Sibley Cottage
Left on 09/28/2012 for a stay in September 2012
We really enjoyed our stay at Sibley Cottage. The cottage is very cute , clean, and comfortable. The last night, when the heating system was 'overheating' the property management people were very responsive, sent someone out immediately. The only ing that keeps me from giving it a perfect 5 star rating was that the downstairs bed could have been a little more comfortable (like the one upstairs). The location was fabulous and I would definitely recommend it!

Left on 08/13/2012 for a stay in August 2012
This is our 2nd year staying in Sibley Cottage. It is on the smallish size but a good size for my wife, 2 daughters, and myself. Though 1 bathroom calls for planning. One tip - make sure you shut the upstairs windows that face the hidden courtyard of Wee House at night. The fountain is very loud.

Sibley Cottage is really one of the biggest favorites in our entire group of homes. Thanks for the tip about closing the upstairs windows at night. The Wee House Cottage does run 24-hours a day. Hmm. Wonder if we can get it on a timer. I shall ask. Looking for your return stay.

Sibley Cottage is one of our most popular rentals--no need to wonder why! Even with the open loft and spiral staircase, it is a favorite return-rental for many, many OceanEdge guests.

Sweet little cottage steps from the main drag in Manzanita and just a few blocks from the beach - great location and lots of natural light, not a lot of privacy. Beautifully decorated home but beds/pillows downstairs are firm to the point of uncomfortable.

Beds are such a personal preference. While some say too soft, others say too hard. This is the first comment Ive seen about a hard bed at Sibley Cottage and I will make sure the owner sees it.

Hillsboro, OR, United StatesWe fell in love with Manzanity & Sibley Cottage!
Left on 01/25/2012 for a stay in January 2012
We just spent an unexpectedly wonderful weekend at the Sibley Cottage in Manzanita. While the wind howled and the rain poured (not unusual for January on the Oregon Coast, we stayed cozy and warm in the beautiful (and well appointed) Sibley Cottage where we read books, watched movies, played games and just hung out. Our 8 year old immediatly claimed the room with the bunk beds as "her room" and also spent a fair amount of time up in the loft (due in large part to the fun of climbing the spiral staircase!). My husband and I loved the modern and clean decor and were amazed at how spacious the cottage is, despite it's relatively small size. We braved the elements for a couple of walks on the beach and meals out in Manzanita. Bread & Ocean was our favorite for both breakfast and lunch. We'll definitely be back in the summer and look forward to staying at the Sibley Cottage again.

We really enjoyed staying at the Sibley Cottage. It's in a good location, clean, warm, and well stocked with everything you would need.
The middle bedroom downstairs has no windows and was like sleeping in a box, but that's the only downfall I can think of. The bed was comfy. We really enjoyed the heated floors and super nice kitchen. -

We have just returned from a wonderful stay at Sibley Cottage. The cottage had everything that we could have asked for and more. I have never before stayed in a rental cottage that came equipped with a Kitchenaid mixer! The cottage was clean, cozy, quiet and in the best location ever. And my daughter thought that all of her dreams had come true when she found the case of Barbie dolls under her bed!
The staff at OceanEdge were quick to respond to our minor problem (technical issues with the TV) and made sure that we had a great vacation.
We are already planning our return trip. -

From the beginning to the end, renting Sibley Cottage was a wonderful experience. Thank you, Ocean Edge! The cottage is within walking distance to everything one would need: groceries, the beach and delicious pizza! (Pizza I am still craving now.) The cottage was clean upon arrival and we had a wonderful stay.

Fantastic location. The cottage has a very well stocked kitchen to make it feel like home. The furnishings are not as comfortable as could be. A little distraction when you have play time out on the beach all day and then want to have lounge time later. Futon couch and chairs are not comfortable...ever. Perfect for a couple or small family. One large bathroom. Overall a great stay and time.

Seattle, WAVery Charming
Left on 09/19/2011 for a stay in September 2011
We had 3 adults and two children staying in this small cottage for a week. It was just the right size to be cozy but with enough rooms so as to have some personal space for those rainy days when we didn't go out much. It actually felt bigger than the pictures
show. The house seems to have everything anyone could possibly need- including a small sewing kit and a barbecue. Although it doesn't have a view, and one room lacks any windows at all, it is very close to the beach and to shops which for us was more important.
One reviewer reported the fountain in an adjacent courtyard was quite loud, but we could only hear it upstairs with the window open. We enjoyed our stay tremendously, the house was clean and comfortable. -

We loved the house. I think we would have probably done better in a bigger, house with a living room with carpet. We felt sort of cramped. I did love the kitchen. All the appliances were really nice and loved the location. It was really a great time at
the beach and I highly recommend Sibley Cottage to other folks. We will be back next year, hopefully in a huge house on the beach so our entire extended family can come and our dog. Thank you. Suzanne -
Renton, WAA little gem in Manzanita
Left on 08/01/2011 for a stay in July 2011
Over the fifteen plus years of coming to Manzanita we have stayed in a wide variety of places. Sibley Cottage was one of the best. It is well suited for a stay at the beach with it's easy to maintain stone floors and sturdy furniture. The beds were the best we have experienced. It is small but for our family of four plus two dogs it was great. Other pluses include a fantastic location, a well equipped kitchen, great fixtures, and internet access. A few minuses include no backyard, an amazingly loud fountain behind the property, and a difficult front door lock. But every property has it's quirks. Our stay for the summer of 2011 was great, made even better by this wonderful little house.

We had a great stay with our two young children and another couple. There was just the right amount of space for all of us. The only thing I would have liked was a bath tub for the kids but they both learned how to take showers:) Great place and I highly recommend it.

This is a very nice place for a couple, small family or two couples. Nicely upgraded and very clean. It was nice to be only a block from town and the beach. We did enjoy the lawn chairs and sun between the rain showers. Overall we enjoyed our stay and plan to return with some of our friends and family for a nice quite weekend or more.

Cottage is great, well appointed, great location and has everything you need. The second post going up the railing needs a new screw noticed no screw is in place. The only reason I gave it a 4 on cleanliness was the tv console was not well dusted but other than that it was 5 star and clean. The only thing that would have been a nice addition would be a small step stool for kids for the bathroom. Other than that, I can't think of anything else it would need. Was very pleased overall with our experience thank you.

Beautiful and well lit place. Heated stone floors kept you cozy. Open layout. We went with Grandma and Grandpa, and took a little one. Put her to sleep in the Queen bedroom - which was a little tight, but the lack of windows helped with naps. We slept in the bunk beds! And grandma and grandpa upstairs in the King. Some of the appliances were a bit bewildering in their complexity - newfangled! But new and clean. Can't say enough - beautiful and well lit even when it rained. No stove/fireplace - but the heated floors kept us warm and cozy - didn't even notice it. The pricing on this place was great. Near to the beach and to downtown.

I felt that the $95 cleaning fee was a little high. We did a lot of cleaning before we left. I am not sure how the fee breaks down, and I am sure it is at a level that is needed. Maybe break it up so that part of it is a cleaning fee and part of it is a deposit that responsible renters could get back. From our point of view $95 has a high sticker shock and would be the only thing holding me back from renting this house again without looking into other options.
This is the one negative about this property. Otherwise the staff was very friendly and the house was very nice. -

All of our customers who have a dog are required to have a dog interview. We do this to ensure that the dogs are on flea treatment and that the owners are responsible pet owners.
