Spokane, WashingtonSpectacular ocean view!
Left on 12/03/2012 for a stay in July 2012
We really enjoyed our stay at the Sandcastle. The view was spectacular so we could watch the grandkids digging and building sandcastles(or join them :-), kite surfers, other beach activities and sunsets from the top/main living level. The home is kid-friendly and our grandkids played upstairs and downstairs. We wished the downstairs could be closed off (for quietness for early sleepers). The many steps up for entry could be limiting to some, but gives you the wonderful view! The kitchen worked very well for us. The short walks to Main Street and the city park were also assets. It is a charming town. The property manager was excellent to work with. We will return!

Victoria, British ColumbiaBest location in Manzanita!
Left on 06/02/2012 for a stay in May 2012
The Sandcastle is a lovely, spacious home right on the beach. The entrance was a bit off-putting (full trash cans had been knocked over and garbage was strewn around the entrance area), but the interior was great. There was plenty of room for all of us (4 adults and 2 children), and the kitchen was adequately equipped. We were disappointed that there is no internet access. The view is fabulous & it was wonderful to walk out of the door and be on the beach in a minute. The main business street is only a short walk away. Note: bring your own toiletries and hairdryer.

Left on 03/09/2012 for a stay in September 2011
This was the perfect beach get-away for the whole family! There was something for everyone to do, from small children to the adults. I loved drinking coffee on the porch while watching the kids play in the sand just below us, walking to the grocery store with our fresh food for the day, as well as browsing in all of the fun and unique shops up and down main street...all within walking distance! Exactly what the Dr. ordered for a great, private, little get-away! I would definitly go back and recommend to anyone I know. The owner is also "very" accommodating, friendly and easy to work with...thanks Tom:)

SeattleDream house on the beach
Left on 09/15/2011 for a stay in August 2011
This was our second year at the Sandcastle, and we hope to be back for more. The house has a gorgeous view of Manzanita beach, and is literally a few steps from the sand. It's also a convenient short walk to the town's other amenities. We enjoyed the spacious, comfortable living room, and the big room below is perfect for kids. The house is roomy, attractive, well-stocked, clean, the owners are responsive... and that view can't be beat. Highly recommended.

Fircrest, WAFabulous beach-front stay
Left on 09/07/2011 for a stay in July 2011
Our family spent one week at the Sandcastle. The house is directly overlooking the beach and access to the beach is through the boat ramp directly to the left of the house. Very convenient! The house is spacious with a great room downstairs for kids to play in and laundry facilities (a must on a week-long vacation with kids!)
Besides the usual kite-flying, sandcastle-building fun on the beach, we were able to watch fire and coast guard rescue training on the beach and even caught a race on the beach on our last day. A great view and expansive windows from the living room to watch it all on stormy days.
Only wish the kitchen was stocked with some updated pots and pans (Teflon was flaking from the ones there) and a few extra kitchen utensils (extra mixing bowls, measuring cups/spoons, rolling pin, baking dishes...) as we cooked most of our own meals. But, they did have the basics that most people would need for light cooking.
My own family would vacation in Manzanita every summer three decades ago and it has barely changed in that time - still a cozy little town with a few shops and a beautiful, quiet beach. This is no Seaside (thank goodness!) but has easy access up and down the coast to other warm towns. -

We've stayed at the Sandcastle every Summer since the late90's. Our kids and grandkids love it. The oceanfront view is beautiful no matter what the weather is. Lots of choices play on the beach stay on the deck or walk into town. It's a cozy well kept home. We always look forward
to going there.

Left on 05/03/2011 for a stay in February 2011
I've stayed at this beach house with girlfriends and my family. It's is wonderful, so comfortable and all the luxuries of home. The views are amazing, beach access right out the front door. Walk to shopping, restaurants or the beach. I recently went with girlfriends for a scrap book weekend and we watched the storms come and go. My friends can't wait to go again next year. My kids also love how close it is to the beach to go out and play and come back to the house to eat lunch and then run right back outside.

Lake Forest Park, WAA unique, comfortable home with an incredible location.
Left on 05/01/2011 for a stay in August 2010
Have you ever dreamed of a vacation on the ocean where the only thing in front of you as you survey the waves and beach is Japan? The Sandcastle at Manzanita is that place. Wonderfully appointed home, equidistant to the town's shopping and the local golf course. It's a place where you can sit and watch all the beach activity or walk a few feet from the front door and be part of it. By the end of the week, you are at one with the beach and the waves.

Left on 04/30/2011 for a stay in August 2010
The Sandcastle has been our family's favorite summer vacation spot since 2003. It's proximity to the beach, the shops and a golf course can't be beat. The house is well-equipped with everything we need to either cook a goumet meal or build our own castle out on the sand. For variety, we have shopped for other vacation rentals on the Oregon Coast, but we are always drawn back to the Sandcastle!
