THE LIGHTHOUSE has been a favorite Manzanita beach home for vacation renters for many years. And now it is dog friendly! It could become YOUR favorite, too.
This three bedroom, two bath home feels large and open and light inside and outside. Sit under the arbor on the front deck or enjoy the old-fashioned comfort of a hammock for summer reading.

We rented the Lighthouse for six months during the off season and it was great! Just a short walk to the great, dog friendly, beach or into the lovely little main street. The stove kept us warm and toasty through the storms and we could open the doors to the deck to soak up the sun, when it came. OceanEdge rentals were so helpful and friendly, they even brought us a fresh baked pie on Thanksgiving! House design is your basic vacation rental style with open floor plan on the top, plus one bedroom, and two bedrooms and laundry on the lower floor. It's clean, well stocked and very comfortable. No fence for the dogs, but the street is quiet and they can be closed in on the deck to soak up the sun. Overall, this is a great place to stay in Manzanita and we'd definitely recommend it.

Stayed in this house for a friends birthday with 3 others. There was plenty of room plus some. The house has been updated and has all the amenities you need for your stay! House is in close proximity of downtown and local shopping as well as being just a short walk to the beach! Bring firewood or purchase in town if your planning on building a fire. Perfect for a weekend getaway and sleeps 6 very comfortably!

The house overall was okay. We stayed there with our 4 teenage kids and we found there was not enough seating to all watch TV together. 1 love seat and a futon just did not cut. it. Also, the deck was fenced in, but the yard was not. It was not the ideal set up for bringing our dog. Even though the kitchen was updated very nicely, there were no cabinets for food and everything had to be stored on the countertop. The bedrooms downstairs do not have dressers for clothes, so either you hang everything, or leave it in the suitcase. Usually not a big deal, but we stayed there for 10 days.

A great place for us and our adult children to gather for a relaxing week. The house had all the amenities that we needed to spread out, rest and eat family meals. Loved the deck and availability of the BBQ and easy access to the beach.

Six of our family members,five adults and a one year old baby, stayed at the Lighthouse and loved it. We were very impressed with how updated and clean everything was. The appliances were top of the line and we had plenty of towels, dishes, etc. The Lighthouse was just the right size for us and conveniently located within walking distance to the beach and downtown. We would definitely recommend this rental.

Very fun, loved the beach access and the town of Manzanita. The house's location was excellent and the house was very clean. The only thing were the ants everywhere. We loved the outside balcony as well.

The Lighthouse is special and the owners have given great attention to upgrades: new kitchen counters, new skylights, new hammocks, new landscaping. Pride of ownership everywhere--and new queen bed coming soon! Those pesky ants have fooled us long enough-and finally, we think we have the right solution. You know they have nests in moist places outside-so we've learned how to go after the nests. Stay tuned; it should work! Do come back and try us again. We love this house.

Loved the house, location, etc. Lot's of amenities and we had a very enjoyable stay. There were sugar ants in the kitchen when we arrived and that was a bit of a turn off. They were also in my youngest son's bed downstairs which wasn't very fun. We know it's hard to get rid of these but would caution the owners to hire someone to rid the house of the problem so they can continue renting the place.

OMIGOSH--I just hate those sugar ants. Manzanita has had an absolute invasion of sugar ants this May and June--even in homes that didnt have renters! Now that you told us about the rascals, we have gotten rid of them. I just hope they dont sneak back in. Wish we had known while you were there, we would have taken care of the problem immediately. We are open 7 days a week and we like to know when a problem crops up so, if possible, we can clear it up before the guests have to leave. On the up side, this is a great house, great location, and the owners have knocked themselves out updating kitchen counters (granite), responding to guest suggestions, revamping the landscaping, adding outdoor hammocks. Please give us another try.

OceanEdge was a great company to rent from! They were very kind, professional — and they gave us two complimentary bottles of sparkling wine upon check-in when they found out that our party was celebrating two birthdays. The Lighthouse was a great place to stay. The lower queen bed was a little uncomfortable — I think the mattress is a little past its prime. Other than that, the place was wonderful. Will definitely stay here again, especially since it's dog friendly and really quite close to downtown and the beach! Loved it!

This is a charming home with a wrap-around deck and very comfortable for six people. The amazing homeowners have responded to renter feedback SO quickly. You can see the new granite countertops in the kitchen and on the kitchen island. There is a new couch/futon in the living room in case you want one more sleeping area. There are two hammocks for the deck. New landscaping changes the front of the house. Now, they are testing the bed themselves--so many times one guest loves a bed and the next one finds it uncomfortable. Stay tuned.

We had a great time at the Lighthouse. The house was clean and comfortable. We felt safe allowing the kids to play on the wrap-around porch-they loved the hammocks! We were just a 5 minute walk from the beach and about 10 minutes walk from downtown Manzanita. We might try to rent something with a view of the beach next time, but we would definitely rent through Ocean Edge again.

Loved the wrap-around (fenced w/gate) deck. Dogs slept in the sun. Minor complaints: nowhere to put clothes (no bureaus, no dressers,no useful table space due to light houses. closets were packed with bedding on the floor and on the shelves above) Same with kitchen, no shelf space or counter space for the food we brought. One shelf had 40 mugs on it. The two largest cabinets in the kitchen were locked for owners use only. The extra (storage?) closet in the upstairs bedroom was also locked, as was another (storage?) room on the lower floor. The house is lovely but having our clothing and food setting on the floors made it feel and look untity and was hard to work around. House needs some adult and children's games. But all in all it was a wonderful time. Everyone had fun, we played games (ours) well into the nights. OceanEdge has wonderful, caring people. And of course, the ocean itself was marvelous, beautiful and awesome, as usual. I do recommend the house highly, hopefully there will be a little more space when you go.

As soon as the homeowners saw this comment, they unpacked the closets and added dressers. So responsive. Space opened up in the kitchen, also. We'd love to supply games--and the pieces disappear for games or puzzles as soon as they are put in the houses. Occasionally, a homeowner will supply games or puzzles--and in very short order, they have be removed due to missing pieces. We highly recommend that renters bring their own favorite games. OR there is a very sweet little game store in town called OVERBOARD where you might find a new game for your entertainment.

This was our first trip to Manzanita, but it won't be our last. What a great little town and beach! The Lighthouse was the perfect place to stay, short walk to both. And it was so very welcoming and comfortable. We especially loved all the outdoors seating, front and back. Such a nice place to relax. Thank you for making our accomodations so wonderful.

We really enjoyed staying in this comfortable convenient rental. Beds were comfortable, deck offered lots of outdoor seating options, and this is a nice location. Great house layout also. Our only small complaint is lack of oil and sugar and some kind of grater in the kitchen
