A three day golf getaway to the coast. Great little cabin in the woods just a couple of blocks from downtown Manzanita. Great deck surronded by woods, charcoal grill, small kitchen, wood burning stove and comfortable conditions. Well appointed. Will return for another stay.

A nice and cozy locale within the woods and not but a short walk from the beach or the town. Inside. wonderfully decorated. Games and mugs with works from various modernists - I appreciated that. A nice fire place to boot; however, the cleaning woman came five minutes to soon and knocked five minutes too early, but that aside, the stay will outlast itself and I would gladly return.

Left on 03/23/2013 for a stay in March 2013
The house was lovely, but we did not receive any directions or code until I called the day before our stay. We booked for 3 nights, not 2. On the second day, a cleaning crew showed up to clean the house. We had to ask them to wait another day. We were very comfortable there. The wood stove was nice during the rain, hail and wind!

Portland, OR, United StatesThe Pines is cozy and private
Left on 03/19/2013 for a stay in February 2013
We really enjoyed our stay at The Pines. It has that cozy cabin feel with real wood interior walls, a wood stove, and a private view onto a wooded area (despite nearby houses). There is a pleasant upstairs loft with a half bath that we did not use except to do laundry. A couple of negatives would be that it is not especially close to the beach and it has no dishwasher.

Tigard, OR, United StatesJust what we needed
Left on 03/19/2013 for a stay in March 2013
The rental was in a quiet, private area. There were times we felt like we were the only ones in the neighborhood. It was very clean and just right for our needs. I loved the loft and could spend hours reading up there. We walked to the beach and enjoyed running on the beach with our dog. It's so great to have a beach where you're able to let your dog run free! She was in heaven! When the weather improves, we'd definitely like to return. Then we can enjoy the beautiful deck, too.

We LOVE this small, cozy, cottage that defines charming. Sitting and reading while watching the trees sway in the Winter wind and rain and hail was a perfect way to spend time out of town. Plus, the rental company are real troopers as I left a bag there and they went beyond the call of duty helping me retrieve it.

Portland, OR, United StatesGreat cozy home
Left on 01/22/2013 for a stay in January 2013
Cute cozy home good for one or two couples. The only drawbacks are that the neighbors kitchen window looks right into the back door and into the living room. Would be easily fixed with shades on the back (and front) door. Also the "cable" that is advertised is pretty weak and many of the channels were very fuzzy. Luckily watching TV wasn't a priority for us but it would have been nice for the evening while relaxing to be able to see what was on the screen without a bunch of snow. Also, we didnt care for the flannel sheets on the bed. Other than that, great place.

Auburn, WA, United StatesLoved the house and trees
Left on 12/26/2012 for a stay in December 2012
This little cabin has a peak-a-boo view of the mountains through the trees--very rustic. The wood stove heats up the place nice and toasty. The dirty dishes in the cupboard, though, are more a reflection on the previous guests, but perhaps the cleaning folk could check to make sure there are no lipstick smudges on the wine glasses! We wash dishes before we use them anyway, Love the quiet location and the great walk to the beach. Got all our exercise in and baked some lovely salmon. :)

Left on 10/17/2012 for a stay in October 2012
Overall a cute house. Great deck. Bed was pretty comfy. Kitchen just okay.
About half the cable channels were fuzzy - it wouldn't have mattered except it was dumping rain - we ended up renting some movies.
Needed a password for the dsl and when i called to get it the person who answered could not find it. She said the number was on the bottom of the modem but that didn't work. -

Very comfortable place for 2 people. Very clean. Office staff were very helpful. Downstairs could use more ligthing in the living area. The house is more like 8 blocks down a hill to the ocean. We had to drive down.

Portland, OR, United StatesSeptember in Manzanita
Left on 09/16/2012 for a stay in September 2012
The house location was great and the house itself was adorable. It is on top of the hill so it made those long runs even longer. It was extremely clean and provided plenty of room for 2-3 people. The back deck was incredibly relaxing and quiet. My only issue was limited table space for sitting down to eat/work. There was a small fold out table that had a lamp on it or the table outside on the deck. Otherwise, if you needed a working surface it had its limitations. My laptop was a laptop for the week. I will come back to The Pines in the future.

Left on 09/01/2012 for a stay in August 2012
After 30+ years of going to the coast this was our first time staying this far North. The rental (Sunset) made the process very easy gave good directions and the in and out were effortless. The house was well cared for and had every thing we needed to have meals and be comfortable. I would reccomend, however, that the places to go be updated so it wound be easier to find services in the area.Overall very nice experience

Left on 08/27/2012 for a stay in August 2012
This is not our first trip to the Pines. Our family really enjoys the space and would buy it in a heartbeat. No, I really mean it. We enjoyed upgraded furniture and TV. Agree with others that the pots could be upgraded. Had an unbalanced washer issue that shook the entire space but the staff took care of it very quickly and nicely. Weather was perfect and we had a great time. Thanks for the stay.

The house is convenient in every way. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our meals. The new furniture on the deck outside made for great eating outside or just sitting down with a good book.

Left on 08/01/2012 for a stay in July 2012
We have stayed at the Pines many times over the years. It's a nice, small cabin. The furniture has been upgraded recently and looks nice. The couch in the loft looks and sits great, but is miserable to sleep on. Next time we will bring an air bed for our loft sleeper. The pots and pans in the kitchen have seen better days--we usually bring some of our own to use.

Very cute, with "mountainy" cabin feel. Perfect for our family of four. Only negative was that we it was too far to walk to the beach so we had to drive, which wasn't a big deal. No yard to play in either, but a nice deck.
We would stay here again. -
Pullman, WA, United StatesGreat spot on the coast!
Left on 07/29/2012 for a stay in July 2012
Loved Manzanita! Not as touristy as other towns on the northern coast. This house is cozy and homey. Kitchen large enough to cook for yourself, plus grill, but no dishwasher and you have to wash your own dishes, so just bring paper goods. Also, this is a pet friendly home, which I didnt realize until I found pet hair on my things.
Overall, a great location at a good price. -

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Manzanita. Our we spent half the week out and about in the sunshine, coming home only to pass out after a day of fun; the other half cuddled by the wood stove watching movies and listening to rain fall on the deck!

Left on 07/04/2012 for a stay in June 2012
Overall we were really happy with our rental house, and I would definitely rent a house again instead of staying in a hotel. The house was well-maintained, in a nice woodsy and quiet location, and it included everything we could want or need! There are a couple of things there that could have used a bit of maintenance, but that's always the case it seems. Overall a great stay and we would go again.

Left on 05/27/2012 for a stay in May 2012
I was switched to this property because my original reservation was not habitable. Arrived to an in progress 2-day logging of the property; spider nest in the bed frame; cheap bed; no window covering to block immediate view next door; was chared and additional $119. on my VISA for cleaning/taxes because i will have to move twice to fill the 17 day reservation due to the mgmt. co. not inspecting the original dirty property.

Seattle, WA, United Statesgreat escape cabin!
Left on 05/03/2012 for a stay in May 2012
The place was perfect for us; 2 busy Seattlites getting away for 3 nights. There was more than enough room for two. We especially enjoyed the upstairs loft, the large deck nestled in the pines (hence the name!), games, and the stained glass window. You can't go wrong with this place if you are looking for a spring getaway vacation spot on the coast! It was easy to walk to town and the beach; I just wish it have a view of the ocean or was a bit closer.

This property was exactly as described and was perfect for the two of us to escape the city, relax and enjoy the winter storms in Manzanita. It is small but spotless and homey and we enjoyed reading by the fire and walking down along the beach. We thought the large deck would make it a great summer escape, too.

We thought this home was adorable. Just wish the couch was more comfortable and there was a larger TV. Also, the light in the kitchen could be improved. We upgraded to another home and couldn't have been happier. The management at Sunset Vacation Rentals go out of their way to accomodate and help make your stay a happy one. I can't wait to come to the beach again.
