Experience a sense of history, as well as style when you plan a stay at this charming, two-bedroom Oregon Coast vacation rental. Built in 1873, this structure was the original stage coach house for the town of Mapleton. Today, this cute riverfront cottage is complete with a white picket fence in front, and a modern kitchen inside, as well as a hot tub, and a large, private fishing hole.
Right on the Suislaw River, 18 miles from downtown Florence and the sandy beaches of the Oregon Coast, this Stage House offers a peaceful, serene environment for relaxing and recharging. Cozy up on the living room sofa in front of the fire and watch a DV...D or cable TV. The ambiance here is stylish and modern, but still laid back enough for the whole family.
The modern kitchen is bright and spacious, with granite countertops and room for preparing a big, hearty dinner. In the morning, use the espresso maker for a coffee drink out on the porch. Or, wander the backyard cup in hand, for amazing views of the river. There's no better way to wake up in the morning than with this view!
In the evenings, soak in the four-person hot tub while the sun is goes down. You'll enjoy views and fresh air while you relax and soothe sore muscles. It's just the thing after a day out hiking or fishing. Also in back, you'll have a charcoal grill - just pick up some chicken thighs and corn on the cob at the store, and you'll be all set for a summer barbecue right by the scenic river's edge.
Downstairs, there's a bedroom with a full bed, while the master bedroom is located upstairs. In this lovely room, you'll enjoy a queen sized bed right underneath a decorative chandelier. From the floral bedding, white paneled walls, and private deck, this room is sure to please. Best of all is the private bathroom and its wonderful, jacuzzi tub. Surrounded by a skylight and wall-mounted candles, this room will produce a spa-like experience for its lucky occupants. Up to four guests can be accommodated at this historic Oregon Coast vacation rental, as well as one dog with a $10 daily fee ($40 minimum per stay).
Right from the property, you can walk along the river with your four-legged companion, fish in the private fishing hole, or just enjoy a beautiful sunny day from the front porch. Take a hike off the beaten path to Sweet Falls Creek, passing foot bridges, rocks, and waterfalls. You'll experience all that the great outdoors has to offer without even leaving town.
This quiet Lane County community is surrounded by the Suislaw National Forest and, though small, it does offer a couple of restaurants on nights you don't feel like cooking - Gingerbread Village Restaurant or Frank's. But, if you make the short drive to Florence, you'll have many more options. Additionally, this 20 minute drive following the river is a great day trip for browsing Old Town Florence's galleries and shops. From here, Heceta Beach is just a bit farther north, offering a long, sandy shore for beachcombing, sand castle building, or kite flying.
And, if you want to bring an ATV trailer for a day down at the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, there's ample room in the driveway of this Oregon Coast vacation rental!
This welcoming riverfront cottage offers a bounty of outdoor activities within a stone's throw, as well as all of the comforts of a modern vacation home, but with all of the history that comes with a 19th century dwelling. Relax and enjoy a breezy summer day or a colorful fall retreat at this charming getaway.
