UKVery comfortable family friendly accommodation
Left on 03/04/2013 for a stay in February 2013
We stayed for 12 nights with 2 children aged 2 years and 5 months. The cottage was comfortable, pleasant, cozy and it had everything we needed. The setting is really lovely and peaceful, with lots of native birds, frogs and the resident sheep and chickens.
Roger and adele are really friendly and helpful without being intrusive, and they provided a lot of useful information about things to do in the local area. We had a great holiday and hope to be back. -

Last Spring, we spent ten weeks at Corru Gate and that was a delight. It is set on a beautiful property with orchards and sea view. This was our first stay in New Zealand and we had the feeling to enjoy the best of Kiwi lifestyle: beautiful nature and warm welcome by our hosts. Adele and Roger are wonderful, always there to help and share good tips, with a good sense of humour. Roger knows kayaking, biking and tramping in the area more than anyone.
Corru Gate is a charming cottage, nicely decorated with local art. Our children enjoyed the playground, the chickens and sheep. We were there at the time of sheep shearing, and had the chance to participate in this very special NZ experience. We also enjoyed adele’s lemon squash recipe with lemons from Corru Gate’s orchard.
Corru Gate is located near the Mapua village, which has nice cafes and art galleries. Rabbit Island, with its beautiful beach and biking tracks, is just a 15 minutes drive away. The area has lots of wineries, and beautiful views of the mountains and sea.
We highly recommend Corru Gate! -

Corru Gate was a fantastic place to stay for our family (2 adults and 2 children). It is lovely and tidy, comfortable and incredibly peaceful with everything you need. It is situated in a great spot and we had loads of fun exploring the areas around Mapua. Our daughter loved sleeping up in the loft area and playing in the treehouse! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Our family of three generations all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Corru Gate. Well equipped, clean and comfortable in serene surroundings. Close to beautiful beaches, great cafes and restaurants, so everyone gets what they want. Perfect spot for kids - let them loose in the orchard or down at the frog pond and you won't see them for hours! Roger and adele are perfect hosts, helpful and obliging but respectful of your privacy at the same time. Thanks so much - I hope we will return soon.

My friend and I had a great adventure touring the South Island of New Zealand. Staying at Corru Gate was a highlight, we were welcomed by Rodger and his kids and given great tips on where to go to eat and drink wine locally. It was wonderful to have a laundry and fresh juice and eggs from their garden. We highly recommend staying at this quaint guest house.
