Splendido Bb in ottima posizione: a piedi si possono facilmente raggiungere delle calette in cui, in pieno agosto, il mio ragazzo ed io siamo riusciti a rimanere soli per un'intera mattinata!Autentico paradiso!Le camere sono nuove, pulitissime e ben arredate. La proprietaria prepara delle colazioni davvero ottime e abbondanti (cornetti, panini, marmellata fatta in casa, torte, frutta, yoghurt): volendo si potrebbe saltar il pranzo!
Fatevi consigliare le spiagge direttamente dalla signora che è molto cordiale e chiacchiera volentieri! -

Più di un comune B&B; e meglio di un albergo, la casa del Gelso di Maratea in contrada acquafredda, ha rappresentato per me quello che vorrei trovare in ogni soggiorno e vacanza.
Immerso in un giardino multicolore, vista sul mare, questo B&B; offre accoglienza e attenzione squisita, pulizia, comodità e cura del dettaglio.
Tre camere ognuna di diverso colore e dotate di confort e con caratteristiche di comodità comuni in cui è piacevole crogiolarsi e riposare, leggere o semplicemente ascoltare il silenzio della natura.
non perdetevi i dolci fatti in casa che variano di giorno in giorno e che si possono gustare durante la colazione su un piacevole terrazzino all'aperto, vista mare . Camere nuove, maiolicate e curate in ogni dettaglio.
Un B&B; a gestione familiare, in cui la discrezione e il desiderio di far stare bene i propri ospiti completano un soggiorno da sperimentare.
La cornice di Maratea, inoltre, come luogo di mare e di scoperta, uno di più bei luoghi di mare del nostro paese, rendono il tutto un'esperienza da fare!!!

My husband and I stumbled across this little gem while trying to find an affordable place to stay on route to Sicily.
It is right next to a 4 star hotel so the location is excellent and the price is too. The restaurant in the hotel is great for a nice romantic dinner.
La casa del Gelso is right next to (200 steps from) a crystal clear pebble beach, which we had all to ourselves.
The hosts are lovely and we enjoyed chatting to them. Our only regret was not having more time to stay and enjoy the beautiful location.
We would highly recommend this place. This region seems somewhat untouched by tourists - let's hope it remains that way! It's like being on the amalfi coast (windy coastal road and similar scenery) without the price tag or crowds.

Initially having a slight problem finding La Casa Del Gelso (mainly our fault), Nadia saved us by meeting us in the village of aquafredda. Del Gelso is a beautiful B&B; set in the heart of the village. The accommodation was very clean, well appointed, with it’s own little terrace and parking in a private area in front of the house. As the owner and family lived on the premises there was always someone there to answer any questions on the local restaurants and places to visit but the family were in no way intrusive. As with all of our stay in B&B;’s in Italy and Sicily, breakfast was very good. Depending on the length of your stay a visit to the mountain top with “The Redeemer” is a must - for the views to the sea and to the mountains and as the son in law of the owner designed the local tourist map he has excellent knowledge of places to visit in the immediate area and further a field including Paestum (another must visit)
One of the “jewels in the crown” for our visit to this part of Italy and one we would recommend to anyone. -

Ottimo B&B; in una cornice unica, mare da favola. Cortesia, ospitalità e buoni servizi. La colazione con vista mare è mozzafiato...e poi tanta frutta, buoni croissants ed un pizzico di simpatia e cordialità da parte della padrona di casa. Sicuramente ci ritorneremo!!!

Il b&b; è una splendida villetta immersa nel verde a pochi passi dal mare.La camera era ben arredata e soprattutto pulita. la colazione è molto abbondante e soprattutto di qualità con croissant, frutta e tanto altro.il soggiorno è durato solo due giorni ma portiamo con noi il ricordo della cordialità e ospitalità ricevuta dalla Sign.ra Nadia e dalla sua famiglia.Ci torneremo presto!!

Actually very nice and welcoming people! They allow you to know the place in its real essence, and in the best way. Maratea and its surroundings are wonderful, the bed and breakfast is perfectly located in a heavenly, quiet place and it is even possible to see the sea from the terrace. The rooms are very clean... In short: difficult to find a better place!

This is a wonderful bed and breakfast in acquafredda just a few kilometers from Maratea. The bed and breakfast is exceptionally comfortable, attractive and clean. Each room is well furnished with plenty of space to put away clothes. Each room has a clean and modern bathroom with plenty of hot water. There is air conditioning available. We were served a wonderful and filling breakfast every morning on the patio with a gorgeous sea view; it was romantic and charming. The hosts live on-site and are extremely knowledgeable about the area and are exceptionally helpful and friendly. They have maps of the area; can help with information on hikes, restaurants, local wines, etc. It is a five minute walk to the beach. Maratea is incredibly beautiful. It's a mini amalfi without the crowds; a perfect spot to relax and enjoy nature. In front of you is the sea and behind you is the Pollino National Park with mountains over 7,000 ft high. This is a perfect spot for outdoor activities. I stayed for 3 nights in april 2011 and it wasn't long enough.

We have just come back from this beautiful B&B; in a village just a few kms from Maratea itself called acquafredda. The room was quite small for the 5 of us, (2 adults, 2 children and a crazy dog) but that was possibly due to the amount of stuff we always take with us! The bathroom was spotless and brand new, with fluffy white towels. We had a little private garden to our room which was great to sit in the sun in the morning and read. We were looked after so well by Nadia and her wonderful family. They could not do enough for us, packing us off with panini for lunch one day, torta di chocolato and a big bag of lemons when we left. You have breakfast on the terrace with a beautiful sea view whilst tucking into scrumptious cornetti, hot coffee, fruit and even creme caramel, a real treat! My only criticism is that there are not many places to eat within walking distance, but that may be the time of year more than anything, as the hotels next door were closed, and the restaurant down the road was also closed. The beaches around Maratea were deserted and beautiful with amazing blue water. It is a very interesting place with a fab old town, the big statue which is a must. We also explored into the Pollino national park and found it so dramatic. We will be back!

We stay 2 nights in this very beautiful b&b; and have a really great time.Our room was comfortable with air con(we didn't use it because it was always same pleasant temperature in the room also during the very hot day),beautiful bathroom and everything was very,very clean! They have private car parking so you don't need to worry where to park(it's almost always problem in Italy especially in august),splendid garden around,where you have breakfast every morning serve on tablecloth with fresh flower from their garden even more beautiful then it looks on photos! The nearest beach is just 5 min. walk from b&b;,it's small but it's beautiful(reachable only by foot),otherwise other beaches are easy accesible by car. I highly recommend this beautiful place,with friendly and pleasant hosts where u can peacefully enjoy your holidays.
