Welcome to your very own exclusive private tropical island only a few minutes from shore! Our 2 bedroom, 2 bath, private island home is located in the tropical turquoise waters of the Gulf of Mexico off of Marathon in the Florida Keys. This beautifully furnished property features a host of amenities suitable for every taste, complete with panoramic views of the Gulf of Mexico extending from every room of this conch style island home.

Exposed wooden beams adorn the l...iving room's cathedral ceiling, complementing the home's wood and tile floors. French doors lead from the great room to a screened front porch and to a covered deck. Our fully equipped kitchen is complete with a breakfast bar. You can also make use of the outdoor gas grill. The master suite features a sunken Jacuzzi tub with 2 sided ocean view shower - the perfect way to end a day in paradise! All utilities (electricity and fresh water) are piped underwater from the mainland, supplying all the comforts of home in this secluded tropical paradise. Rental includes a small power boat for transportation between shore and island.

Landscaped boardwalks surround the home for leisurely strolls around the island. This ancient fossilized exposed reef features native vegetation of silver buttonwood, black mangroves, sea grapes, and pitch apples which attract a vast variety of migrating and resident bird life. The crystal clear warm waters of this quintessential Keys location are occasioned by a variety of wild life including visiting dolphins, manatees, sting ray, parrot and angel fish, roosting pelicans and great herons to name a few.

  The Best Honeymoon and Private Island Paradise!

  We rented this place for our honeymoon and flew out to Miami and than rented a car and did a three hour drive down to marathon where Pretty Joe Rock Island is located. The drive by the way is very beautiful if you are not used to tropical locales. The place that you have to park at the dock on the shore where you take the boat to the island is the only thing that I can complain about at all. For two reasons, the dock should have a ladder to help to get in and out of the boat in high/low tide. The second thing is the long and narrow driveway that you need to back down if you have luggage to unload or groceries etc. The other tricky part is driving the boat to and from the Island. It is not that difficult but if you have never driven a boat it will take you a few trips to get the hang of it so take it slow the first few times. Also be warned that at low tide you should keep the boat to the right of the island on approach due to low draft for the boat. Don't be to worried thought the distance to the island from the mainland dock is only a 1/4 to maybe a 1/3 of a mile the boat ride only takes maybe 5 minutes getting in and out and tied up are the longest part of the trip. The house is gorgeous and the Island is beautiful. I can't over state how great a locale this is. It is a two bedroom place and me and my wife rented the whole thing for our honeymoon, but two couples or a small family would be more than comfortable. The island had a few large live iguanas that were just awesome to take pictures of and find in the trees. The island was also covered with tiny lizards that were every where. You could Kayak right off the island. You could Snorkel right where you were or take the boat and find a nice secluded reef to explore. I went to a Caribbean island once before but this was a much better experience. Plus with it's location on highway 1 you can get to key west attraction easily and also see great wildlife attractions like Theater of the sea and other wildlife rescue operations. You can also find all the great shopping you could want in the area. If you like beaches the Island is on Coral Reef and doesn't have one (you should bring water shoes because it can be sharp) but you can find many in the immediate area and George the island Caretaker provides local knowledge of great places to eat and visit on your stay if you ask him. The house has all the amenities you could ask for and the hot tube is a great pleasure! The house also has aC units, Fans, Microwave, Stove, Washer Driver, Dishwasher, Various Smaller Kitchen appliances a nice gas grill TV, DvD players, Stereo, and Fishing Equipment. You might want to bring Snorkel equipment. The house was nice and clean and the linens were freshly washed.
  The wildlife that can be seen just in the immediate area of the island is amazing a beautiful. This was just a great great place to stay if you are thinking of going to the keys consider this place!
