Gerry's Place is a lovely home on the gulf coast in Grassy Key. This beach house has everything you need from a pool and hot tub to the ocean and sunsets. The two bedroom two bath home is very clean and nicely decorated. The owners have stocked their home with everything you could possibly need on vacation from beach towels, kayaks, fishing gear, life jackets, flat screen Tv's (cable), computer (internet), and a very well stocked kitchen.
The beach area is a bit off putting, due to the seaweed , but the long pier takes you out far enough in the water if you want to swim or snorkel in the ocean. I believe the seaweed issue is pretty typical throughout the Keys. We found a lovely beach, Sombrero, on the atlantic side if you want the white sand and a place for kids to play in the water.

My wife and I traveled with another couple from our family. This home was perfect! Everything we needed and so much more. Shopping,dining and site seeing is nearby but the home is just far enough away where you can really experience the Florida Keys relaxed lifestyle. Ellis the owner and Barb the property manager went above and beyond on answering any questions we may have had. The only thing I would have changed is how long our stay was. One week just did not seem enough to enjoy this paradise. We would love to return to Gerry's House in the future. Thank you for making our vacation outstanding!

We reviewed several rental homes online for our vacation to the Keys and decided on Gerry's Florida House. Both Gerry and the rental agent, Barbara McKee, answered our inquiries very promptly; they were very patient with all of our questions, and made booking the property a breeze.
We travelled with another couple, and Barbara arranged for the caretaker to transform the two twin beds in the guest room into a king bed. It worked great!
The home itself was welcoming. The veranda was our oasis, the view incredible. The layout of the home is perfect if you're travelling with another couple; with the guest rooms on opposite ends of the house allowing for privacy. Everything we needed was provided; from linens and beach towels to cutlery and cookware, even propane gas in the grill. Gerry has thoughtfully provided fishing poles, a small tackle box, snorkle equipment and kayaks, and beach chairs.
The "house cat" was incredibly sweet natured. He let us know when it was time for breakfast or dinner by coming to the screen door of the veranda and politely meowing. He seemed to know the food was kept just beyond the screen door. We never allowed him inside the veranda as he was perfectly content to eat, then wander around the property and to other neighbors homes I'm sure. :)
During our week at Gerry's House we saw an iguana, approximately 2 feet in length (although it seemed bigger!), a raccoon, several birds of all species, numerous lizards by the water/sandy area, and a huge frog that managed to scare the daylights out of one person in our party. We fished off the dock and caught several barracuda. That was a lot of fun!
The pool/hot tub was great, although the directions for operation need to be updated and made a bit clearer. The pool area was very private, but it could use some additional lighting. The only light being one fixture against the house was not bright enough to provide ample lighting to fhe far end of the pool area. It would be nice if they added solar powered lights around the pool fencing that would provide enough ambient lighting for all to enjoy, without attracting an inordinate amount of bugs.
We had a wonderful time at Gerry's Florida House. A totally relaxing, much needed respite from reality. We will definitely stay here again, and highly recommend the rental to anyone wishing to enjoy a week in the Keys. -

I have stayed at Gerrys House a few times over the years. It is very,peaceful, private home. The screened in deck looking out to the gulf is so relaxing a great place to eat dinner.The pool is nice place to hang out and cool off.
I love walking down the dock with a drink and watch the sun set there is nothing like it. The only thing I will hate is when I have to leave. I will be back next year thank you for sharing your home with us. -

We stayed just this past November for a week. The house is beautiful, and a great location. The view from the balcony is spectacular! This home is fully equipped,with everything and not having to pack so much was a huge plus! The bikes and fishing were so much fun! We can't wait to come back!

What a great place to stay! The inside of the house is really nice and very comfortable with plenty of room. The screened in porch is the best part because it has a beautiful view of the water and is very relaxing. The pool and hot tub are awesome. So much is provided at this house to include kayaks, bikes, toys, fishing and snorkel gear, books, cds and movies. We love the Keys and will definitely be back to this house!

We stayed at this beautiful house for a week in May. It is the perfect place to just relax and enjoy the pool, porch, and dock. Or do what we did and take full advantage of the amenities of the house! We walked every morning, dipped in the pool, hot tub, and bay (love the swim ladder off the dock!), used the kayaks, fishing and snorkeling equipment, and biked every day. Our kids loved the pool and also had fun looking for sea creatures off the dock. We enjoyed the quiet and privacy of the location coupled with the proximity to many attractions like the Dolphin Research Center, Sombrero Beach, Crane Point Hammock, the Turtle Hospital shopping, and restaurants. Plus it's only an hour to Key West! Overall it was a fantastic family vacation with just the right amount of activity and relaxation!

The best part for us was the panoramic view from the porch/balcony. Such a nice place have drinks, eat and play games. We also did snorkeling off the pier.. That was my first time doing snorkeling and kayaking. Walking on the pier at sunset was wonderful. There are many good places to eat nearby. The furnishing are keeping with the "Keys Theme" and very neat and comfortable. I felt so rested upon my return home.

Staying at Gerry's Florida House was wonderful.Comfortable,yet stylish with every amenity.
Loved having a cicktail on the dock,or outside patio at sunset.
Also close to many attractions,like the Sea Turtle Rescue,& Dolphin Exhibit.Key West just an hour away is a blast.Mallory Square is a must,with great shopping,clubs,& restaurants.
I'm already booked for next year -

Gerry's Florida House was a perfect spot for our winter getaway. The house is comfortable and private. The views of the water are truly spectacular. Everything we needed was there- kayak, bikes, heated pool and spa, etc. We will not hesitate to return.

Gerry's Florida House was great! We had a 13 year old and a 20 year old, my husband and myself. We enjoyed the fishing and snorkeling from the pier the most, we didn't even have to leave the property to have fun! Also the pool and hot tub were great! The house was very nice and with every single comfort of home.(especially internet) The house is also easy access to the beach, restaraunts, bars, and Key West. We did it all!

You want for nothing in this house. peaceful, relaxing, fun, lots to do. the porch is the best place in the house, we never sit inside, you just want to spend the day enjoying the view. It's close to great places to eat and entertainment. We drive into Key West for the day only an hour away. We fish off the dock and snorkle. The beds are very comfortable. enjoy hot afternoons in the pool and jacuzi. We love to BBQ on the grill and enjoy dinner with some wine on the porch and watch the magnificient sunsets. We enjoy bike rides in the neighborhood. My husband like to kayack on the bay. We come back year after year and look forward to our week in pardise every year.
