Broadbeach WatersVery very disappointing indeed
Left on 09/30/2012 for a stay in April 2012
We stayed in Marbella for nine days, having travelled two months on the QM2 we disembarked in Malaga.
We previously lived and worked in Europe for over 13 years, and we last visited Marbella 6 years earlier. We had high expectations. But they were short-lived, since Marbella had changed dramatically.
What we found was a depressed city, empty of action and energy; this was very different to past memories. Evidently, the negative impacts on the Spanish economy and the housing market have had a dramatic negative impact on Marbella. Driving around Fuengirola & Torremolinos was no different. Frankly, we will not return to Marbella, and it was very disappointing.
As for the apartment, this was very disappointing. The amenities were old and terrible. The mattress must have been a collectors item, and the kitchen utensils were old, messy, with the pans carrying allot of black residue. We really had the impression that the owners were not at all interested in maintaining the apartment. The listing is overstated in many respects, including the illusion of viewing the ocean.
I have never graded any experience as a 1 out of 5, but this is a first, since this is all it deserves. The apartment and the amenities needs to be substantially upgraded and modernised, or the rental price needs to be dramatically reduced, since the current rates are far in excess of what you get.
Ps We have now been travelling for 8 months over 20 countries, and this rates as our worst experience.Response from Gerard Kelly - 11/29/2012
Owner
Mr Montgomery stays in the apartment in April yet he posts his review on 30th September?? His comments relating to his stay in April were not factually correct then, and they were certainly not valid at the time he posted them on over 5 months later. One guest stayed in the apartment for over 4 weeks in July and he has booked again for the same period in 2013.
A normal person would post comments with the view of alerting the owner to certain short-comings so that the owner might take the opportunity to rectify them for future guests. It takes a very strange mind to post such negative comments over 5 months after staying in an accommodation. -

SolihullFabulous location, lovely people, excellent value

Dealing with the owner Gerard was a pleasure from start to finish. The reviews were the decision maker for me and they couldnt have been more spot on. Gerard and his family collected us from the bus station which was a great help and a lovely touch. The apartment is spacious and well equiped and is perfectly located, 2 mins walk from the harbour and beach and only 1 minute from the shopping centre.
The pool area was clean and well kept and mostly empty except for the life guard. There is also a gym and tennis court, which we did not use but looked well equiped. The air con in the apartment was a welcome luxury, everything that we needed was there. The rooms were spacious, comfy and clean with a huge balcony and plenty of seating.
We ate on the harbour front every day and although it was a little more expensive than other european resorts, it wasnt that much more than a nice restaurant here in England and we found the quality to be excellent and well worth the extra.
We would heartily recommend afternoon cocktails at Joys Bar, very reasonable and comfy. Evening meals were fabulous at aretusa'a, an Italian restaurant with a wide ranging menu, exquisite food and superb staff.
Marbella is only a short bus ride away ( catch the bus just inside the side of the shopping centre L1 bus), or you can get a boat across from the harbour side. Although Marbella was nothing compared to Puerto Banus, there is no comparing the two.
Walking around the harbour at Puerto Banus is a excellent, full of designer boutiques, top of the range sports cars and unbelievable yachts.
I cant recommend Puerto banus highly enough, but the location, price and owners of the apartment we stayed at absolutely made our holiday, I will stay here again without question.
Thank you Gerard, Bridget and Grace for your hospitality. -

Left on 06/15/2011 for a stay in May 2011
We wholeheartedly agree with every one of the many positive aspects mentioned in earlier reviews regarding the presentation, facilities and location of this apartment. We were immediately comfortable upon entering, and managed to catch up on some much needed sleep during our time there. The terrace and its views, and the secure basement level parking, were very much appreciated. Communication with the owner, Gerard Kelly, was always very forthcoming, easy, clear, concise and friendly, even when we arrived earlier than anticipated and very jet lagged. All good !

This is a beautiful apt. with every Mod. Con. and superb Tce. It is very conveniently situated with views to the sea on the left and Sierra Nevada Mnts. on the right. The famous Puerto Banus Marina is less than 5 mins. away. We can honestly say it is one of the best apts. we have ever stayed in and the owner and his wife could not have been more helpful.

The owner kindly met us from the bus station which was a great help. The apartment is opposite El Corte Ingles and 2 minutes from the beach. It was very peaceful and we had great views of the sea and the mountains.
There was everything we needed in the flat which was clean and comfortable.
We would be happy to go again. -

Left on 11/26/2010 for a stay in October 2010
Our holiday in Puerto Banus was fantastic! The apartment was defintely a great find ;) Very modern, spacious and comfortable. Also most importantly it was very afforable. It was only 2 minutes walk to the beach and a few metres to all your shopping needs. The gym and pool were really good too.
Defintely would stay here again, thankyou to Gerard, Bridget and Grace for being so warm and hospitable. -

Left on 11/13/2010 for a stay in October 2010
I can highly recommend this large, spacious and immaculate apartment. Great location, beside El Corte Ingles, beach, and a short walk to the marina. 24 hour security, fully fitted with all facilities. We spent a week here, and found it much better than a hotel room. Gerard the owner was great, even meeting us at Marbella bus station..

DublinBrilliant Holiday
Left on 09/10/2010 for a stay in August 2010
The apartment is very clean bright spacious and well equipped, it had everything we needed and more. The location is perfect if you want to shop, eat, drink and go to the beach and clubs in puerto banus. It is only a short taxi ride to marbella also. The reception staff are very friendly, the pool staff are very strict but it is probably neccessary to be so as the pool and lounge area were immaculate. i would reccommend it to anyone thinking of coming to puerto banus.

we spent a very good week holiday in this nice and small apartment but very confortable, and has everything you need and more.the location is suficiently close to Marbella, and to a big mall called LA CAÑADA.the location of the apartement is wonderfull because it´s close to the beach,to corte ingles hipercor market,to restaurants.. and you don t need to take the car.definitely i liked this apartement.

DublinExcellent central location
Left on 08/19/2010 for a stay in July 2010
We chose this apartment for it's central location and it did not disappoint. We had supermarket, shops, restaurants, bars and clubs on our doorstep. We did not need taxis or car rental as buses were available close by. The excellent Levante beach is 5 minutes walk as is the Port with all the beautiful boats and shops.
The apartment was as advertised and my only negative would be that it is a bit dated in it's decor. It is comfortable and clean with everything one could need. The kitchen is well stocked with all appliances in full working order. The beds were comfortable but the bed linen needs to be updated. It was a bit tired...!
All in all an excellent rental experience and one I would do again.

Th apartment is in an excellent, excellent location!
