The worst experience

We had a really bad experience with the stay itself, the condo, and especially with how we were treated by the owner, Mr. Joe Batte.
In a nutshell, we were suprised by an extensive building renovation right in the middle of our stay, with people drilling and banging all day long starting at 8am. The worst part was when they decided to sand our unit's door at 9am while we still were getting up.
After attempting to contact the owner for two days of construction, all in vain, we moved to a different place. We got no apologies from the owner, and instead were treated quite badly when trying to recover the advance payment. Throughout the entire process there were minor, but in retrospect entirely consistent missteps in communication on Mr. Batte's part, such as persistent aithmetic mistakes in his favor. Another telling fact is how he sent us the lease contract, which contained some disclaimer about "minor" construction work planned for the time of our stay (but with no inconvenience to us!). We only got the contract after he received our payment in full and even then after our persistent emails and even phone calls. Until then we had no idea of any possible issues, and would have surely chosen a different condo if he was forthcoming with the information.
The unit itself is OK, but fairly old and in mediocre condition. Some parts required repair (e.g. the screen door). The sheets for the pull-out sofa simply had holes. The kitchen was a little better, with some new appliances.

We have been renting our beautiful property for many years with very favorable responses from our guests. Unfortunately, this guest did not like the neighbors already there, and chose to make false statements regarding our property, in an attempt to get out and take their rental money w/them. Not liking the neighbors is one thing, but bad mouthing our property is very wrong. This person was given a refund & the neighbors were very appreciative of it!

Excellent location, second floor balcony is wonderful, unit is perfect for two people. I have stayed here every year for the past seven or eight years and plan to do so again. While not as fancy it is much more relaxing and accommodating than the bigger hotels on the island.

We have stayed in this condo several times, have never had any problems. It is safe, very clean, quiet, great location and the sunsets are the best! Joe is always willing to help in any way possible!

My husband and I enjoyed two weeks at this wonderful condo. The balcony is a special treat, very large and spacious. We had lunch everyday sitting out on the balcony. The balcony is also a great place to get some sun. The condo is very clean and met all our needs. The pool and hot tub was wonderful. The grounds are well maintained. The boardwalk to to beach is easy and the beach is a great for walking and shelling.
