NATURE'S PARADISE: Amazing Views & Paradise Pool! Marigot Bay, Saint Lucia
Additional Location Information
Marigot Bay has a terrific beach & was described by James Michener as "The most beautiful Bay in the Caribbean". Our Main-House and Cottages are set high up on a hill for great views, so walking down to the beach is about 15 minutes, walking back up takes longer (a jeep is strongly recommended). The famous La Bas beach is on the north side of the bay and there are no cars or roads. You access La Bas Beach by Captain Bravo’s ferry, which runs 24/7. The boat ride is about two minutes and is fun. There are five good restaurants and one great restaurant on the bay. There is often live music at the restaurants around Marigot Bay. Anse La Raye, the next town, has a great block party called Seafood-Friday. Anse La Raye is a fishing village that has retained its character.

We stayed in Nature's Paradise in June 2013. Their property has spectacular views on top of the mountain so if you are looking for a quiet place to relax this is perfect place for you. The views from the pool are breathtaking. Wanda and David are amazing and happy to share with the guests the best the island has to offer - the best restaurants, beaches, rainforest trips - whatever you need they will help to arrange it or direct you. They are wonderful, very intelligent hosts and Wanda's homemade breads are delicious for breakfast which she serves with excellent coffee. The tropical garden they created throughout the ten years they own the property is simply amazing! We've never seen such a garden full of so many different tropical plants so beautifully landscaped with breathtaking views from each side of the garden. Simply paradise!
We will return.
The best food on the island is at "Orlando's" prepared by world's known chef Orlando who's every dish is a masterpiece that simply melts in your mouth.

We loved everything about our trip! We wanted adventure - not pampering - and a place that was off the beaten path. We found it!
David and Wanda were wonderful hosts and Marigot Bay was the perfect spot for us. We had plenty of high adventure moments: sailing, hiking, ziplining, and plenty of relaxing ones: hanging on the beach, drinking wine on our balcony, visiting with David and Wanda over breakfast and dinner. All were incredible memories that will never forget!
We have already decided that we must go back and, when we do, we will certainly stay with them again.

David and Wanda are very accommodating, gracious hosts. Our week's stay was great from day one to the last. We stayed in the cozy room in the main house for two nights and switched to the cabin shown in the photo. The cabin is spacious, tastefully decorated. We loved the canopy bed and large shower. It was nice having a kitchen with all the amenities. The service was excellent, as evidenced by the seamless move from the room to the cabin. We didn't have to lift a finger. We went on a day's excursion and found all our things neatly placed in the cabin. The pool is great - with an amazing view to boot. We thoroughly enjoyed breakfast featuring Wanda's tasty homemade bread and a variety of fruit David provided every morning. David has a wealth of information and expertise about the island and how to best enjoy it. He provided us with great service, facilitated a rental car and had the best advice on how to pass the time prior to our departure! As for activities, we highly recommend the day cruise - share it with another couple to reduce the cost, but it is worth every penny (Caribbean or us)! Marigot Bay is idyllic and has a number of great restaurants, so you need not go far to enjoy a wonderful meal at reasonable prices. We found our week's stay to be an adventure and yet very relaxing. David and Wanda have made Nature's Paradise a great location from where to begin a day's excursion around the island and so enjoyable to return to at the end of the day, or simply stay there for the day. David and Wanda are great people and we looked forward to our conversations during breakfast. We plan to return to St. Lucia soon and would not consider staying anywhere else!

This little cottage over looking the Caribbean Sea is on our list of favorite places that we've ever stayed. The breezes that sweep up form the water, the tree frogs singing at night, the meandering gardens, the cats lazing in the sun, swimming in the pool at dusk...I could go on. The Wallace's were perfect hosts and the property could not have been more beautiful and restful. We hope to go back again and again!
My husband and I stayed at Nature's Paradise for a "babymoon" while I was 6 months pregnant. David and Wanda were wonderful hosts, the cottage was the perfect size and it was great to have our own private porch. The grounds of the property are beautiful and lush. Getting to and from the location does require driving up a steep and bumpy road, but that seems to be par for the course in St. Lucia and not specific to Nature's Paradise. Marigot Bay is a nice low key town with a few nice restaurants and David and Wanda know the area well and they gave us great recommendations of where to go. We rented a mini SUV and I would strongly recommend doing this so you can explore St. Lucia on your own. I would recommend Nature's Paradise and St. Lucia to travelers who are adventurous and like to explore on their own. We did take one of David's tours (the botanical gardens and hot springs) early in our trip and it was nice to get a lay of the land from David before we went out on our own.

We enjoyed an amazing time at Nature's Paradise! The view from our cabin was incredible, as we would sit back and enjoy the beautiful color of the Caribbean Sea along with watching the sail boats arrive or depart from the harbour. David and Wanda do a very good job of looking after the little things that make the difference between a good vacation or great vacation. We were glad that we had booked David for a personal tour of the island as he is also an excellent tour guide. The breakfast times were personalised with Wanda's oven fresh muffins and bread each morning.
The reason for the beauty is that you are quite high up the mountain side, which is also is the cause for the reason that some people may not like the location since it was a bumpy ride on a mountain road to and from town or a 1/2 hour walk which is unlit at night for part of the way. For us it was well worth the bumpy road however you should be aware of this before arriving. Thanks again David and Wanda for a great time.

This is a brilliant place to stay if you like being a little off the beaten track and independent. It was very quiet and well away from the main tourist areas, and a great base from which to explore the island. The cottage was comfortable and private, and we thoroughly enjoyed breakfast up at the main house, a chance to share stories with other guests.

My husband and I went to St. Lucia for the first time over Christmas and spent weeks researching places to stay. We were looking for an intimate, boutique property with an incredible view and we found all that - and much more - at Nature's Paradise! The owners, David and Wanda, could not have been more helpful or hospitable. From the moment we arrived to St. Lucia, where a driver David had arranged was waiting to pick us up (on Christmas Day no less!), we felt completely at home. If you are looking for a large, all-inclusive resort with tons of amenities and no interaction with the locals, then please stay at Sandals...there's three of them on the Island! However, if what you are looking for is a unique, one-of-a-kind experience on the beautiful island of St. Lucia, then I can't recommend Nature's Paradise highly enough.
The property is surrounded by beautiful, lush foliage providing privacy and a true tropical feel. From the pool, you have a breathtaking view overlooking the Caribbean Sea and my husband enjoyed swimming a few laps here every morning. Breakfast is served promptly at 8 a.m. each weekday and we thoroughly enjoyed the spread of fresh, local fruit (papayas, pineapple and grapefruit, oh my!) cheese, coffee, tea and homemade bread baked by Wanda. It was a perfect way to start each day in St. Lucia and we valued spending this time with David and Wanda and the two or three other couples who were staying at Nature's Paradise (there's only four guest rooms on the entire property). We would all swap stories from the previous day and share recommendations for tours and activities we enjoyed. After breakfast, my husband and I would head out on a different adventure (many either recommended or coordinated directly by David). From ziplining in the rainforest to sailing and snorkeling to hiking Gros Piton, St. Lucia has so much to offer and Nature's Paradise is the best place to experience it all!
Our charming cottage was scenic, private and a true escape in pa

Because the cottages are so popular in winter, we stayed in a B&B; room waiting for our cottage. Both were clean, comfortable and supplied with all the needed amenities. We did most of our own cooking and managed well. My landscape architect husband appreciated the magnificent tropical landscape that Wanda installed. We particularly enjoyed the tropical breakfasts on the veranda where we met the other guests and relaxing by the pool and waterfall with a glass of wine and the awesome sunsets at the end of the day or when we weren't off exploring. Although the location is remote (and a challenge to find the first time), it is centrally located and accessible to other offerings on St Lucia. Dave and Wanda are knowledgeable and delightful hosts, sharing their stateside past and adventures on the island. They either recommend spots to explore or lead island tours to their secret places. The native staff were also friendly and helpful. If you hate the fast pace and busyness of a huge resort, we recommend Nature's Paradise as an ideal, off-the-beaten path, relaxing alternative for a St Lucia vacation.
A most pleasurable vacation experience with wonderful memories

We rented the avacado Cottage at Nature's Paradise on Marigot Bay in St.Lucia in January of this year (2012). A quiet respite surrounded by nature overlooking the Carribean Sea was a wonderful vacation home base.
David and Wanda are most gracious hosts who are keenly interested in your well being and comfort. As a car is necessary to vacation in St. Lucia, David and Wanda are very generous with their time and expert advice to help you get the most enjoyment from your vacation time.
I cannot recommend it highly enough to anyone who wants a unique location on a most beautiful tropical island. Be sure to take David's jungle tour. Wanda's muffins alone are worth the trip.

We liked Nature's Paradise very much because of the location, lots of restaurants and great views of Marigot Bay, I think a great place for the traveler, not the tourist. Accommodation was very nice, clean and very helpful hosts. Nice to have the kitchen if you want to stay in the odd night. The roads up to the property can be daunting but you do get used to it by the end of the week. Lots of fun adventure on St. Lucia and our hosts are most knowledgeable about how to enjoy these different excursions. I loved the location of Nature's Paradise, you can drive north and south easily because you are basically in the centre of the island on the west coast.....highly recommend Nature's Paradise, I think one of the best places to stay in St. Lucia..........

Well, we had two weeks of relaxing and joyful holidays with Wanda & David, who are the most friendly landlords you can imagine. They provide a great tropical breakfast in the morning and we loved the nice talks with the other guests. The cottage is spacious and clean, with incomparable view over the sea. The area is absolutely quiet and the premises are well cared, the environment is unspoiled. The swimmingpool is best cleaned and the terrace offers also great view. The kitchen is well equipped, all the devices work reliably.
It's a good place to stay, because you can reach all parts of the island by car within less then two hours.

During our short stay on St. Lucia we split our stay between one of the big resorts and the quaint, quiet, Nature's Paradise. For romance and time to catch up with each other, hands down Nature's Paradise is the way to go. David and Wanda were great hosts and always helped in pointing us in the right direction. The views from the porch of the cottage were fantastic and relaxing. We also enjoyed having what turned into a private swimming pool. While staying here, make sure you make reservations to go to the Rainforest Hideaway restaurant just down the hill. It's not only the best restaurant on the Island, but would be near the top in most cities in the world. You should also check out Pigeon Island and the little restaurant inside their National Park. The magic of St. Lucia and the romantic atmosphere at Nature's Paradise and the surrounding area made for the best trip of my life. Nature's Paradise will always hold a special memory as we got engaged while staying here. I will never forget it and someday hope to go back, who knows, maybe to get married.

We spent a wonderful 10 days at Nature's Paradise in Banana Cottage overlooking Marigot Bay. It was a beautiful cottage with everything you need to stay in and cook and just sit on the veranda to watch the boats and sunsets in the bay. It's high in the hills with the sounds of birdsong by day and frogs by night. You'll definitely need a jeep. This is a world away from 'all-inclusives' and resorts at the North of the island. Stay here if your passion is to explore and find the real St Lucia. Make sure you go on the Soufriere trip with David, he knows all the local hideouts and lunch at Ladera is a treat. Hiking is good too but bare in mind that St Lucia is a relatively unspoilt mountainous island and you will go up some steep climbs but there's usually a waterfall pool to cool off in. David & Wanda are wonderful hosts and nothing is too much trouble for them and Wanda's breakfasts are fantastic. All in all a terrific treat and memories to last a lifetime.

We had an amazing trip to Nature's Paradise! Dave and Wanda were fantastic, and did everything they could to make sure our trip exceeded our expectations (which it did). The grounds of Nature's Paradise are beautiful, and the views from the cottages and the pool were fantastic. The cottages were adorable and well-apointed, and had everything we needed. We loved having Dave and Wanda there because they helped us plan our days and gave us lots of great suggestions of things to do and see on the island. Dave set up a charted snorkling trip, which was incredible. Use them as a resource as much as you can, they know the best places on the island. And Wanda's breakfasts were amazing! Fresh fruit, bread, juices and cheese! We looked forward to it every morning! The town of Marigot Bay is great, lots of shops and cute resturants. We LOVED Chateau Mygo and went there almost every night. We saved Rainforest Hideaway for our last night and were not disappointed, it is a must-eat resturant! The beach is close by the the cottage, very quiet and relaxed. There is also a beautiful private cove down the hill from the cottage, we enjoyed having that all to ourselves! Dave also took us on a tour of St. Lucia, which was great. His knowledge can only come from someone who truly loves the island. We enjoyed the Botanical Gardens and the Hot Springs, but our favorite on the tour was lunch at Dashenne at the Ladera resort in between the Pitons. It was one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. Dave's tour is a must-do. I highly recommend staying at the Avacado Cottage, just writing this review makes me want to go back!

Dave and Wanda were great hosts. Dave provided detailed information on all the amenities and was an excellent tour guide. Wanda provided a hands on tour of a local market and a tour of the city of Castries. The cottage is private and overlooks the beautiful bay. The entire property is a gardeners dream come true. We loved it even though there were some issues.
I definately would make this spot a yearly vacation destination if the cottage was air conditioned. It was hard us to sleep at night because the cottage was hot and humid. This may have been in part because we just came from freezing weather to 85 degrees and humid instantly. The water shortage at the time severly limited the amount showering one could do to cool down. We relied on the swimming pool at night to somewhat cool us down before bed time.

This was one of our best holidays. David and Wanda are wonderful guest and they make you feel at home right away. You will not get such a view from an all inclusive as you will at Nature's Paradise. We stayed in one of the cottages with a great private deck overlooking the water. It was nice to have a kitchen to use, but there was a choice of some great restaurants in Marigot Bay. Wanda always had a delicious breakfast served with some of the fruits on the property. The gardens so lovingly taken care by Wanda and David should be in the Better Homes and Gardens. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about the accomodations.
