      As advertised

Left on 05/02/2013 for a stay in May 2013

Without being redundant to other reviews, the property is "as described" and that is all you can ask for. Owner was easy and efficient to deal with, on-site manager was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable of entire island. Clean, generally quiet location and amenities as described. Agreed with previous review that they certainly can upgrade pool lounge chairs for comfort and possibly have pool floats for guests, but those are fairly picky items. Location almost dictates that you rent a car. Otherwise, good stay and an easy place to get lost for a week.

We had a Fabulous time in St. Lucia. Our stay at Marigot Palms was very relaxing, fun and beautiful. We stayed at the Windsor 1 bedroom upper level. The room looked exactly as you see in the pictures on Trip advisory, clean, spacious, modern with a beautiful view of Marigot Bay. We loved our stay there, waking up every morning to a beautiful view, enjoying a little piece of Paradise. It was the perfect place for us to stay. The location met our needs. Amenities were very good and Cyrus was the icing on the cake. He was very helpful, trustworthy, friendly, and made it hassle free to get around. Cyrus you Rock!!St. Lucia is a beautiful island and, the people are friendly and nice. : )

      Almost perfect in every way

Left on 11/09/2012 for a stay in October 2012

We were looking for a relaxing break with sunshine & nearby amenities without the hassle of the more built up resorts. Marigot Palms hits the spot. From the moment we were picked up at the airport to our return the manager, Cyrus, provided a friendly, attentive but also 'low key' manager/driver/tour guide. The furniture in the home was of a very high standard and the kitchen was fitted with all we needed and more. Could possibly have done with a bit more wardrobe space in the bedroom.
The view of the bay from the property is to die for, the marina is about 5 minutes walk downhill but about 15 coming back! - possibly not suitable for older or less agile guests, although Cyrus can arrange lifts & there are taxis for when he's not around.
There are 4 or 5 restaurants around the bay and the food was always of the highest standard and reasonably priced for the quality served.
Hard to pick any real faults, the following are small matters to serve my point:
      1. The sunloungers are no longer as per the website. They are now the standard hard plastic type with no cushions. Certainly not comfortable and not in character with the property.
      2. Parasols are past their best and need to be replaced
      3. Cyrus needs to be more punctual - waiting to be picked up by him was a bit stressful at times. But he does make up for this with his friendlyness.

      Chilling out at Marigot Palms

Left on 10/30/2012 for a stay in October 2012

We had just returned from a great stay at Marigot Palms which was a real home from home. The location is beautiful with an amazing view of the bay and the accommodation is excellent. We made full use of the swimming pool and soaked up the rays, the weather being perfect virtually every day we were there. Cyrus was very helpful and was full of useful information on what to do locally. We took one excellent day trip with him and another by boat and both were most enjoyable. All is all a very relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Having been to the Island before, this being the first time in Marigot Bay, only being there can one describe the absolute beauty of the surroundings. I don't have enough room on this review to touch on all the high points of my stay, only to sum it up in one word. Relaxing. My heart slowed twenty beats a minute sitting on the patio taking in the relaxed pace of the life surrounding the Bay. The caretaker for the property, Cyrus, was nothing less than perfect. The locals were extremely warm, and friendly. The rental was top-notch, and more beautiful in person, with every amenity needed to make this the most wonderful view(and close to town) than any other I saw. If there were anything negative I could say, it would be the steep road up the hill, but than again, the excersize was much needed after the awesome food served at the quaint restaurants on the water. Other than that, it all goes back to one word. Relaxing...A definate must see!!!

Spectacular view from the patio. One of the yachts at the marina. 248 foot!

We stayed at Marigot Palms for a week in the Sandringham apartment. It was extremely spacious with excellent facilities, cooking, sleeping, walking distance to Mari-gourmet supermarket. Restaurants were all close by in Marigot Bay. We loved being here so much we did not leave and sightsee around the rest of St Lucia. The pool and views of the passing parade of yachts were magnificient. The resident dog "Ben" was lovely, friendly and great security to have around.

Our stay at Marigot Palms was amazing, we stayed 7 days from 4/2/12 - 4./9/12 This was our first experience renting a villa vs staying in a big hotel. Let me tell you the experience was fantastic. We stayed in the Windsor suite which was just as pictured. Equipped with everything you need to make some meals on the cheap. Cyrus, the property manager, even stopped at a grocery store on the way to Marigot after picking us up at the airport. We also utilized Cyrus for a tour and he arranged a great sunset cruise for us. Ask him for restaurant recommendations and get better food than you'll find at some of the hotels! Cyrus is a great, friendly, reliable resource. We would not hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend Marigot Palms.

Beautiful view and pool area-room is average

Left on 04/08/2012 for a stay in March 2012

Marigot Bay is beautiful and the view from Marigot Palms pool deck is beautiful. We stayed on the upper level and had a nice view from our balcony as well.
Cyrus, the property manager is very pleasant and tries to accomodate, although he is not available when he is touring other guests.
The pool deck is beautiful and adequate for 8 guests, although there are only 4 lounge chairs and the cushions are not fit to lie on, so we used the chairs with towels only.
If you don't have a car, the walk up and down to the bay is about ten minutes but quite steep. Unfortunately, the owners have left little info about the area, and since this was our first time in St. Lucia, we had to learn without much help. The price is higher than cottages across the bay, which are also quite nice.
All in all, a beautiful restful spot which could be even better with a little attention to detail by the owners.

Left on 03/02/2012 for a stay in February 2012

I would just like to echo many of the other reviews, amazing view, very clean and tidy. Good access to restaurants in the bay and some will come and collect you as it is a bit of a walk...loved the idea of being given a mobile phone to contact Cyrus, this was especially useful a we hired a car that was a little less than robust so it gave us peace of mind. Cyrus also organised 2 villa Bbq's which were excellent both the food and company. We loved being able to open the patio doors and being by the pool, watching the boats and the humming birds. Thank you for a very relaxing 10 days. We rarely visit the same place twice but I would not hesitate to recommend Marigot Palms and the beautiful St Lucia.

      Great holiday stay

Left on 02/28/2012 for a stay in February 2012

The view from Marigot Palms over Marigot Bay is picture postcard. It's a very relaxing way to holiday - being able to step straight from our room to the pool and having the choice of eating in (if we had wanted to) was ideal. Or there is a good choice of places to eat in the bay. Cyrus (the manager) even organised a BBQ for everyone staying there one night which was a great way to get together. We travelled with our 4 month old and had requested a cot bed - getting also a high chair, baby bouncer and baby bath tub was a really nice touch (especially as we'd had to bath our son in the sink at the last place we stayed). The only downside is the steep walk down to the bay and back if you have small children (and a pram) and the steps. It was fine with our baby but I wouldn't recommend for babies on the move - there are steep drops from the pool.

I would stay here again next time I go to Marigot Bay.

We had a great time at the Marigot Palms. From the moment we got off the plane we we're greeted by Cyrus (manager) and driven to the apartments. During the week he made sure that we had a great stay with helpful advice on where to visit and if we needed drove us to places.

The apartments are in a stunning location overlooking the bay with only a short 5 minute walk down to the marina, restaurant and bars. It was wonderful to wake up every morning to such a lovely view. We had some great other guests staying at the apartments and they made the experience even better.

Relaxing in the jewel of Marigot Bay

Left on 01/22/2012 for a stay in January 2012

From the moment we landed in St. Lucia, until the time we arrived at the airport for our departure, the team at Marigot Palms took care of us. After a pleasant ride from the airport, and a stop at the grocery store, we arrived at the house just after dark. Cyrus oriented us to the features of the house and our suite, and we collapsed into the relaxation of Marigot Bay, Marigot Palms, and the Buckingham Suite.

The apartment looks exactly as pictured on the website. The pool was delightful after spending only a little time in the hot sun. And we certainly enjoyed the fresh limes and grapefruits, picked right off the tree in the beautiful gardens.

One tip is to just enjoy sitting on the pool deck and watching the yachts come and go. When you see one you like, walk down the hill to the marina and get a close-up look. Another tip is to enjoy your own private happy hour in the tiki bar.

Steve, Anne-Marie, Cyrus, and the housekeeping and gardening team have done a fantastic job in renovating and maintaining this jewel.

We have absolutely no complaints, but if I could make any suggestion, it would be to add a small microwave to the otherwise well-stocked kitchen. It would have been handy in re-heating some of the delicious leftovers from the several restaurants in Marigot Bay.

Marigot Palms is the ideal spot for a relaxed and peaceful holiday. The views are amazing and it's only a short 5 minute walk to Marigot Bay where there is a bank, small supermarket, bakery and five or six restaurants.

We stayed in the Windsor Suite which is stylish and modern as well as comfortable and spotlessly clean. It's very well equipped with everything you could need. Excellent shower, comfortable bed and it was lovely to have air conditioning which isn't offered in many of the other holiday rentals in the area.

The pool area was immaculate and it was lovely to be able to pick fresh limes for our G and T's in the beautiful gardens!

Cyrus was the star of the show - always ready to help out with any information you might need and organising excellent, value for money trips around the island.

      An amazing Vacation

Left on 08/23/2011 for a stay in August 2011

My boyfriend and I stayed at Marigot Palms in august 2011. The manager Cyrus met us at the airport with a warm greeting after we had travelled all day. From our first interaction, we found Cyrus to be friendly and willing to go the extra mile for us. He even offered to take us to get a meal before going to the apartment. Once we arrived at Marigot Palms, the owner Steve was there to greet us even though it was almost 11:00 at night. He showed us to our apartment and informed us that there were drinks and snacks in our kitchen. I was eager to sort out all formalities; however, Steve insisted that we get some rest and handle our business in the morning. When we stepped into our apartment we were excited because the pictures that we had viewed on the internet were identical!

Over the course of the next 10 days, Cyrus and Steve went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Whatever our wish was, Cyrus in particular, would grant it. We enjoyed taking tours with Cyrus and sitting on the terrace and having great conversations with Steve. We loved the fact that we could walk outside of our sliding door and jump into the pool while enjoying one of the best views in St. Lucia. We did not have to worry about arriving back home and paying huge cell phone bills because a cell phone was provided for us to make local calls free our charge, of course with Cyrus on speed dial. Additionally, on a few occasions Steve would bring us bananas from the trees on the property or Cyrus would bring us mangoes, as he knew my boyfriend loved them!

Overall, our experience at Marigot Palms was amazing! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and have recommended that our friends and family visit St. Lucia and stay at Marigot Palms. The views are breathtaking and it is a great place to relax and forgot about the stresses of everyday life back home.

My wife and our 2 young children have just returned from a very enjoyable week at Marigot Palms. We are based in the Caribbean and have been to St. Lucia before. Marigot Palms lived up to our expectations in terms of location, facilities, cleanliness and standard of accommodation. The owner Steve was always there if we needed him without invading our privacy.Likewise, the manager, Cyrus was a genuinely helpful and friendly person who would go out of his way to be of assistance.

      Lovely Place

Left on 07/31/2011 for a stay in July 2011

We stayed at Marigot Palms for 11 nights during July. We were looking for somewhere quiet where we could relax and chill as well as self-cater for the majority of our stay, with the odd special dinner out. Marigot Palms was ideal for our needs.

We were in the Windsor Suite, which is clean and nicely decorated and furnished. The balcony was not very wide, but was nice to sit out on and watch the boats coming in and out of the bay. We found the road to the Palms very steep - the walk down to the bay is c5mins, but the return journey time will depend on fitness. The kitchen could do with a bit more equipment for the cook, but the shower was fab, the bed firm and we really appreciated the aircon for the hot nights. We enjoyed spending a great deal of our time by and in the pool, especially as we were the only occupants apart from the owner for most of our stay. The gardens were well kept and the gardener provides fresh bananas and limes too (fab with a cold Piton beer!).

We highly recommend Cyrus the manager/driver, who was friendly and a good driver. We were so impressed by him that we used him to drive us when we did manage to leave the pool and I would recommend this for anyone likely to be daunted by the very winding and hilly roads in St Lucia, quite a few of which have very little signage and numerous potholes.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Marigot Palms.

Left on 06/12/2011 for a stay in June 2011

My wife and I stayed at Marigot Palms for eight days starting on June 1. We had a wonderful time! We stayed in The Windsor suite and our accommodations were very nice and comfortable for two. With European styling and the comfort of air conditioning a small kitchen and a private bedroom it was everything we wanted. We elected against renting a car and chose instead to pay Cyrus (the Marigot Palms Property manager) to pick us up and take us back to the airport on our travel days. We spent our days relaxing in Marigot Palms, walking and visiting the shops and restaurants in Marigot bay, taking a kayak or sailing around the bay and close to the cost of St Lucia (on the Caribbean side of the island). The highlight of our trip was all-day sailing trips heading south along the coast of St Lucia. The cruise took us to Soufriere Bay to visit the volcano and botanical gardens. On the way back we stopped and did some snorkeling along one of the many small shore line reefs. The entire trip was arranged for us by Cyrus (Marigot Palms Property Manager) and he took care of all the details of our trip (pickup, food, activities) he even negotiated the cost of the trip on our behalf. We would like to extend a very big "Thank You” to Cyrus as he treated us like royal guest during our stay at Marigot Palms. All-in-all this was a wonderful trip, nice place and very relaxing. The kind people at Marigot Palms made this an experience that we will remember as one of our best vacations at a time when we really needed it.

      Wonderful Marigot Palms

Left on 05/14/2011 for a stay in May 2011

We have just had a fantastic, 2-week break at Marigot Palms. The owners, Steve and ann-Marie, couldn't have been more hospitable and helpful during our stay. There were even two cold Piton beers in the fridge on our arrival and a delicious breakfast was laid on for our first morning until we had found our feet. The manager at Marigot Palms is a local and very knowledgeable and can provide airport transfers and sightseeing trips, but we opted for mainly relaxing by the pool. We wanted to make the most of this wonderful, peaceful property. Our apartment - the Windsor suite, had a magnificent view of Marigot Bay, was private, luxurious and immaculate with welcome aircon and even UK plug sockets! We cooked al fresco (using some ingredients from the lush tropical gardens - the lemons and basil were the best we've tasted) on most nights but there are a good variety of restaurants a short walk down the hill, which is well lit and safe at night (although the return is a slog after a few rum punches!). The Rainforest Hideaway is understandably considered one of the best restaurants in St Lucia and only a 2-minute (free) boat trip across the bay. The property is also a short walk to a tiny, secluded beach (Fisherman's cove) that offers great snorkeling with tropical fish off a coral reef. In short, a perfect St Lucian retreat for those wanting to escape from it all.

Marigot Palms has to be the ultimate in luxury. To start with the view is unbeatable - if you tried to picture a perfect postcard view, you would still be amazed. By day or by night, you could never grow tired of looking out across Marigot Bay. No expense has been spared in the apartments which are very tastefully decorated and the garden is well- stocked with all kinds of exotic shrubs and fruit trees. The smell of the fresh limes from the tree is firmly imprinted in my mind! In the future whenever I need to transport myself away from the British weather, I will imagine that I'm back on one of the sunloungers, looking out onto the caribbean sea. Until, that is, I can get back there!

      Great stay in Marigot Bay

Left on 04/13/2011 for a stay in March 2011

We stayed at Marigot Palms (Windsor suite) for 2 weeks in March 2011 and had a very nice relaxing time. The property was just as presented on the web site. Our suite was very clean and well appointed with modern appliances and furniture, satellite TV, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, etc. (It did lack a micro-wave). Unfortunately we did not get to meet anne Marie as she was away, and Steve was also away for most of our stay. However Cyrus ensured we were looked after, providing us with tours and transportation as requested, and also a pre-paid cell phone for local use (as there are no land line phones on site and our own cell phone would not work.) We spent most of our time on the property enjoying the weather, the pool and the great view. We dined at most of the local restaurants and highly recommend the Hurricane Hole for casual dining. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Marigot Palms and would recommend it to others.(except maybe families with small children, due to safety concerns with the infinity edge at the pool deck).

Was it St. Lucia, was it Marigot Palms, was it the fabulous service from Steve and Cyrus, or the great people we met who were also staying there? It was all of the above. Our view from the patio by the pool was surreal! I have never been so content to just relax. When we did venture out we just wanted to go back because we were already at the best spot on the island. We will defenitly return and when we do it will be like going to visit friends instead of just a vacation.

We just returned from being at this location 1 month. It definitely became our home away from home . It was most relaxing and beautiful . Every detail was exceptional including the ironed sheets, cloth napkins to the European bath fixtures. Steve, the owner, was the most wonderful host along with Cyrus, his right hand man, Alicia, Ozzie and Ben. It was quiet and serine but if you wanted activity there was plenty to do with Cyrus as your driver and guide. One of the great features was being picked up at the airport and delivered back there.

      A Caribbean hidden Gem

Left on 03/09/2011 for a stay in February 2011

Before arriving in St Lucia, I wasn't really familiar with this Caribbean Island. From driving from the airport / other part of the Island I was amazed at the beauty/scenery and how tropical it looked. When we arrived at Marigot Bay I was truly amazed at the natural beauty and realized this is a hidden gem. Mairgot Palms was exactly what we were looking for : quiet, slightly off the beaten track, within walking distance to amenities, with a killer view. The apartments are very modern, completed to taste and extremely clean.. you could tell the owners cared deeply about their renovations from the previous owner. Steve the owner was fantastic: very attentive if there was anything we needed, took care of restaurant reservations and genuinely a very nice guy. What I liked about staying here that it didn't feel like a hotel, you could come and go and not worry about ordering food, cleaning your room first thing in the morning. You could make your own breakfast lunch etc. Mairgot Bay it's self was very beautiful and I really liked the marina's and the surrounding restaurants etc. and how cool to arrive to some of them via a 24 hour Water Taxi. Steve organized a few trips for us to the South of the Island to the fish fry; both of which were a great experience. I'd highly recommend St Lucia and in particular Marigot Palms to anyone, it was a very enjoyable experience.

      Fantastic Journey

Left on 03/08/2011 for a stay in February 2011

My parents, my husband and I stayed at Marigot Palms in February and were beyond satisfied with our stay. The picturesque setting, overlooking lush Marigot Bay, but away from the typical tourist traps, was both serene and beautiful. The four room villa was equipped with excellent amenities, large bedrooms and modern bathrooms. Mp is a quick 5 minute walk to restaurants and shops.
The most impressive thing about Marigot Palms however, was the exceptional service provided by Steve, the owner and Cyrus who helps manage the property. They provided rides to anywhere on the island, gave excellent recommendations for restaurants, and created a warm atmosphere of witty banter and relaxation. The pool and bar were fantastic areas to congregate with other guests. When I think back to my favorite places that I've traveled, it isn't the sights that stand out, it's the people like Steven and Cyrus who make them most memorable.

      Great apartment!

Left on 03/07/2011 for a stay in January 2011

We really enjoyed our stay at Marigot Palms. We arrived at the international airport and rented a jeep. The roads are pretty good on the island and we had no problems driving to Marigot Bay. The directions that Steve provided were very good. Steve was waiting to check us in and show us around. We couldn't believe how new the apartment was. Marigot Bay is very quaint and we ate at several restaurants in the area. Our favorite was Chef Mygo with the two for one drinks. We spent our week driving around the island and visiting various sights. A large modern grocery is located about 15 minutes away in the area of Cul De Sac. We visited the volcano, hot springs, beaches and more. Anse Cochon beach is located about 20 minutes away and you can park by the road and walk to the beach. We went snorkeling there and had drinks at the beach bar. On Friday we went to the street party in anse La Reye. Steve had his driver take us for a small fee so that we didn't have to deal with parking.
I really though Marigot Palms was a great central location for touring the island. We could drive to Rodney Bay in a little over 40 minutes. The volcano and waterfalls by Soufriere were only an hour to the south.
Steve was a great host and was always available for conversation and drinks.
We cooked meals in the apartment kitchen several times. We were in the Buckingham suite which features a separate bedroom and a large greatroom with a very comfortable leather sofa. The internet service worked well and we appreciated the TV with all the us channels. The view from the pool deck is right out of a post card. I was impressed that we didn't see any mosquitos at all.
In summary I would say that the place is squeaky clean and new and has a very central location. The air conditioning works very well. We would certainly return to Marigot Palms.

A perfect getaway spot for like-minded travellers

Left on 03/05/2011 for a stay in February 2011

As soon as we arrived at Marigot Palms, we knew we'd chosen well. When we asked Steve the proprietor how he and his wife planned the property, he said, "We created what we look for when we travel." Well apparently, we are like-minded travellers because my friend and I found just what we were looking for-a great view, a wonderful apartment, a quick walk to the shops and restaurants, a quiet, well-maintained villa, and accommodating hosts.

We rented the 2 bed/2 bath suite on the upper level. The kitchen is well-stocked with pots, dishes, and utensils. Day one, Steve provided us with a lovely breakfast, and then he took us to nearby grocery store where we found a good selection of reasonably priced food. Even the small store in Marigot Bay offers a good selection of staples (including wine and beer) at reasonable prices, and it is walking distance.

I've rented houses in the Caribbean before, and this was by far the most modern and comfortable. The furnishings offer a clean European sensibility. The beds are made up with crisp, white cotton sheets and duvets and the towels are fluffy, white and fresh. We felt instantly at home.

Normally, when I read, "we provide tours,? I'm skeptical, but all I can say is "Trust in Cyrus.? Cyrus is a trusted employee from the island, and he'll provide you with the experience you are looking for without being intrusive. He's an expert in getting you ahead of the cruise ship mobs, so it's good to leave your inner control freak on the plane and let Cyrus run the show. After a few trips with Cyrus, you'll feel like you are visiting with relatives.

Steve is more than willing to hold court at the Tikki Bar and swap stories, but if you are looking for quiet time and privacy, you will also find it here. My travel companion dubbed Marigot Palms as having the best view of the Bay. If you are a like-minded traveller who wants to escape the tourist crowds and all-inclusive hotels, you won't be disappointed.

My husband and I stayed at Marigot Palms for 5 days on our 1st trip to St Lucia and it was truly marvelous! Steve, the owner treated us royally and his staff, in particular Cyrus, is a genuinely great guy who drove us around with 1st class style. Everyone was sincere, friendly and aiming to please. The cliff-side views were truly magnificent, and the accomodation was fresh & lovely. Its amazing how truly relaxing, interesting and enjoyable it is to just stare out at Marigot Bay, while watching the sailboats and yachts come in & out - a whole day can 'sail away'. We really hope to go back to Marigot Palms sometime soon and thoroughly enjoyed our stay - we were sad to leave but look forward to returning. St Lucia was our best vacation ever & I'd highly recommend Marigot Palms for its views, accomodation and 1st class hospitality & service - it was just perfect! Thank you!

From the moment my husband and I arrived, we were treated like royalty. Steve and Cyrus portrayed the highest degree of hospitality that we have not experienced elsewhere on our travels. The apartment we rented was spacious and very clean with all the amenities needed for our 10 day stay. There was always a beautiful breeze and plenty of sunshine at Marigot Palms to ward away the winter blues.

What will be most memorable from our stay is the amazing views all day and all night of Marigot Bay and the comradery with other guests and our kind and witty host Steve.

We enjoyed several local restaurants, snorkling daily in Fisherman's Cove just a 5 minute walk away, the comfortable and leisurely trek up and down the hills to the waterfront, and a daylong tour led by Cyrus and with other Marigot Palm guests to the Botanical gardens, a Cocoa plantation, Rum factory, and lunch in Soufriere. Thanks Cyrus!

The property at Marigot Palms is very well kept with orange, lime, coconut, and grapefruit trees amongst other beautiful tropical plants. The pool and surrounding patio area and tiki bar were great places to relax and socialize wih other guests and our host Steve.

We hope to return to Marigot Palms in the future. Merci Beaucoup for a wonderful holiday! Thanks a million Steve!

A relaxing place to stay with an amazing view of Marigot Bay!

Left on 02/08/2011 for a stay in January 2011

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Marigot Palms. After a long journey w/ little sleep, and lost luggage, we were met at the airport by Cyrus who drove us to MP. Upon arriving at MP, Steve met us with a warm smile. He made us feel very welcomed. He showed us to our beautiful and extremely clean apt. After a quick shower and change into our swimsuits (we packed these in our carryon, thankfully!) we made our way to the pool to relax. Steve was more than accommodating by offering us drinks and a dinner reservation at a local restaurant. Though it is only a quick 6 min walk down to the Village, Steve offered to drive us. He also offered to pick us up after dinner, but we opted to walk back up the hill after dinner, which even though it was dark was no problem. We stayed at MP for one week and each day was relaxing and fun. We met and made friends with all the other guests at MP. Many nights all eight guests would sit out on the poolside deck; have a cocktail and talk, laugh and joke. We always invited Steve to join in as he became more than a host, he became a friend. Even though there were six other people staying at the apts, we still felt like we were on our own and could relax. Steve was always helpful and available for setting up activities for us. We also hired Cyrus for a day to drive us around the island. Cyrus has lived in St. Lucia his entire life and knows the island as well as its people. We were very comfortable with him and enjoyed our time with him. We could not have asked for a better personal guide for the day. I definitely recommend MP as a place to spend your vacation in St. Lucia. The location is perfect! After seeing Castries, Rodney Bay and Soufriere, we were always so happy to be "home" in Marigot Bay. It is one of the most beautiful places on the island and MP overlooks this little piece of paradise. Thank you, Steve for making our vacation one we will always remember and treasure. You and Marigot Palms exceeded our expectations!

My spouse and I just returned from a fabulous two week stay at Marigot Palms and it was so hard to leave. We travel often and have used Vrbo for our accomodations in the past and by far, Marigot Palms was second to none. Not only did we have a five star accomodation, the owner was what helped make our trip to scenic Marigot Bay so special. From the moment we arrived to our sad departure we were treated as though we were family. They went "above and beyond" to make sure we were comfortable and happy every day. In fact we became friends and we hope our paths cross again very soon. The suites were all full and there was an atmosphere of total comfort and a true family atmosphere all round. We are owners of a vacation home ourselves so our standards are very high. Hats off to Steve and anne Marie Blackwood for creating a wonderful place to stay. It certainly is one we will want to revisit.

We went to St Lucia for New Years and the first week of January. It was a wonderful experience staying at the Marigot Palms. They are situated in a very nice area, close enough to walk to the bay and shops. They are also situated on the side of the bay where you do not need to take a water taxi or lift. This was very convenient for us. The owners, Steve and Marie-Ann were very hospitable. They welcomed us with open arms into their home, and made our stay very relaxing. It was our first time visiting St. Lucia and we were totally blown away. We had more of a personal relationship that you don't find in an ordinary hotel, the owners genuinely cared about us and made us feel at home. The accommodations were luxurious, we stayed in the Clarance suite, right next to the swimming pool. We had a modern kitchen, which we used regularly to cook our own meals. Our driver Cyrus was excellent. We arranged several tours with him and they were all worth it. We were able to do zip lining, visit Rodney beach, and tour south of island (pitons, volcano, Soufriere). He took us to places where locals ate which was really wonderful, we got a good sense of the St Lucian culture and their people. We truly enjoyed our stay, and were amazed with the beautiful villa at Marigot Palms. It is even more beautiful in person than in the pictures! The terrace and view are truly magnificent, the best view in all of Marigot Bay. Highly recommended! We love the island of St Lucia and we will definitely think of visiting again.

I can't even begin to tell you how wonderful our trip to St. Lucia was! Despite a little rain here and there, the time we had relaxing and admiring the gorgeous rainforest from our lovely terrace was breathtaking! We felt at home instantly with Steve & Anne-Marie (the owners) there to guide and advise on anything we needed. They are such wonderful and good-hearted people. We felt like we knew them for years. The tiki bar near the pool was a great area where at the end of each day after dinner we would gather and have such nice conversations and drinks and even cigars too! We loved the Windsor suite. All very clean and modern. The TV and wi-fi were excellent. We were very comfortable from the moment we arrived. There isn't a negative thing we can personally say about this place and me and my partner have traveled all over. We highly recommend Marigot Palms!!! If you're seeking privacy and to get away from all those touristy areas yet wanting to have a nice vacation in paradise then this is the place for you! And while you're there, be sure to check out the Rain Forest restaurant (top-knotch service) and take a nice sailing day trip around the island. We will be back for sure to see our new friends (Steve, Anne-Marie & Cyrus) again in the near future! We loved Marigot Bay!

      Nightmare at Marigot palms

Left on 12/29/2010 for a stay in December 2010

On December 22, 2010, my wife and I found ourselves at the mercy of Steve and anne Marie, the owners of Marigot Palms, a bed and breakfast-type accommodation in Marigot Bay. It was just our third day in St. Lucia and at Marigot Bay. The night before, a bad meal at a local restaurant left me with a severe food poisoning. I threw up the entire night. It was so miserable. Then dinner time came. I was still too weak to make a 20 min walk, down and back up the hill, to a restaurant. When we asked Steve and anne Marie if we could use their stove for 10 min to make pasta, they declined. It was pitch-dark. We were on a steep, muddy hill, with no car, no phone, and no access to food, in a foreign country. So, I asked the newly arrived guests if my wife could use the stove in their room (as their accommodations came with a kitchen) and they gladly obliged. Next thing I knew, Steve and anne Marie appeared outside my room. To my shock, they asked my wife and me to leave their hotel. Steve was wiggling his finger half an inch from my face, as I remained seated, forcefully emphasizing that we did not have a stove in the room because it cost only $190/night while the other guests had paid $300/night for theirs, with a stove. Here was the rub: it must have been truly embarrassing for the owners of Marigot Palms when we asked the other guests to use the stove. But we were not to be belittled by Steve and anne Marie, who left us, to our great dismay and humiliation, asking other guests for kitchen privileges. In short, I had an iTouch with an internet connection and, in the dead of night, I arranged for another hotel to pick us up outside Marigot Palms. Upon return, I emailed Steve asking for the balance of our payment, as we were thrown out after 2 nights. We had prepaid 50% of the payment. In response, Steve sent an invoice for the remaining balance and a bill for the towels (which my wife used to wipe the floor when I threw in the night) and cleaning service.

Marigot Palms Luxury Caribbean Apartment Suites, prides itself in being the premier accommodation choice for discerning travellers to St Lucia. Our aim is to provide all our guests privacy, in luxury surroundings, while still being available to see to their needs.

It was very unfortunate that you contracted food poisoning from a restaurant, (not Marigot Palms, due to the fact we do not provide cooking facilities in your chosen apartment).

We offered to call a doctor to assist you, which you declined.

Whilst we can sympathise with you during your illness, we can not tolerate our newly arrived guests being harassed or embarrassed into cooking for you.
We also do not tolerate our staff and management being verbally abused.
We provide a 24hr house keeping service, on site, whose services you also declined. We did not appreciate our towels or bed linen being used as floor cleaners.

As you are fully aware, and this was explained to you in detail, unless you calmed down we would have to ask you to vacate your room and leave the premises.

This, you did, at 9:30PM, without settling your room bill !!

We found Marigot Palms on another vacation homes website and fell in love with the description of the accommodation and location. The apartment we rented for the week (The Windsor) and Marigot Palms in general surpassed the photos on the website. We wanted a place that was pretty central on the island as we had a rental car and wanted to explore the island. Our other criteria was for something modern, luxurious and self contained. Marigot Palms definitely fit the bill. The apartments are just as short walk to the local shops and restaurants which was extremely convenient when we didn't feel like eating out. You also had the convenience of a lot of the hotel facilities e.g. spas from the nearby resorts.
The owners, Steve and anne-Marie were fantastic. They stayed up to greet us when we first arrived even though it was close to 11.30pm. They provided us with a complimentary continental breakfast the next day and then Cyrus, their driver drove us back to the airport the next day so we could pick up our rental car. They were extremely helpful and were always there if you needed anything.
The apartment had spectacular views of Marigot Bay. We often found ourselves often having breakfast on the balcony and just admiring the views. After a day out sightseeing, it was great to come back to the apartment and just chill out and work on our tans by the pool.
Marigot Palms is the ideal holiday location. It's in a fantastic spot; great value for money and the self contained apartments allows you the luxury of either eating out or in. The owners were so easy to deal with which always makes the whole experience so much better. Marigot Palms is your own piece of paradise while you're there.

After renting the Buckingham apartment at Marigot Palms in October 2010, my husband and I hope to return to this spot in the future. Everything exceeded our expectations. This property is spectacular! We came here for our honeymoon and truly couldn't have picked a better location! Our congenial email exchanges with Steve Blackwood, the property owner, set the tone for a great stay. Upon arriving we were greeted by a generous coffee, tea, snacks, champagne welcome basket and spotless interior. The grounds replete with greenery, breathtaking view of the bay, fruit trees from which you are welcome to snip samples. While in St. Lucia we did tons of snorkeling, sailling, scuba diving, ziplining, took a boat trip to Martinique, dined at fine restaurants, went to Fish Festival ... and after every our little adventure we were so happy to head back to our secluded oasis at Marigot Palms and take a dip in the pool and just relax. Having a place to ourselves, a true home away from home - not just a room, was key for us. I love to cook, so we loved having kitchen where we could occasionaly cook breakfast or dinner if we didn't fell like going out. Everything we needed was right there, short 5 minute walk to a coffee shop, supermarket, restaurants, other resorts where you could, for a little fee, use the gym or get a massage, meet other people - mostly couples on their honeymoons. We recommend this place to anyone - you can relax, enjoy the peacefulness and beauty of Marigot Bay or you can go and explore the island and enjoy all the water sports and adventure this place has to offer. Our guide and driver Cyrus was extremely helpful in getting us to places and explaining things. We appreciate all the hospitality we received. What a great honeymoon! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us!

St. Lucia's best kept secret - Marigot Palms awesome experience

Left on 10/10/2010 for a stay in May 2010

This was my second visit to Marigot Palms and it is always a delightful experience. I am always greeted with a very warm and friendly reception by the owners. I am a widow and I truly feel at home whenever I visit Marigot Palms.

My first visit to Marigot Palms was also my first visit to the Island of St. Lucia and my visit was very structured with planned sightseeing trips all over the island. My day trips were fantastic but I felt as if I cheated myself of not being able to enjoy the beautiful relaxed atmosphere and magnificent view of the surroundings of Marigot Palms and I thought to myself I should return.

This, my second trip, I spent 7 glorious days starting with my early morning swim and breakfast under the gazebo. A couple of days I strolled through the seaside town of Marigot Bay which is within walking distance of Marigot Palms, had lunch and just admired the quiet and ease of movement by sea and land around me, it was quite an enjoyable experience. One day I had a relaxed unplanned scenic ride to the foot of the Pitons which was wonderful. The other days were spent enjoying the atmosphere of Marigot Palms with its manicure lawn, fruit trees and beautiful flowering plants. I cannot forget the awesome feeling waking up in the mornings with the magnificent view through the big glass doors of my suite. I also enjoyed sitting hours on the upper balcony feeling extremely relaxed admiring the spectacular view of the sea, boats and lush greenery of the mountain.

Thanks to the over and above hospitality that is always offered at Marigot Palms I had a wonderful vacation, and again, I told myself I will return.

This was an outstanding trip!!! I was a bit nervous staying away from the big familiar names, but I don't think I could have picked a better place to enjoy for a week in paradise. The views are breathtaking! The property is less than a 5 min walk to the beach, grocery shopping, restaurant, bank, etc.

I called ahead and arranged to be picked up from the airport. About 20 min (I think) drive of rainforest and beautiful scenery to the property. The owners of the property live there and are incredibly friendly and helpful. They set up a private boat tour for us, and had lots of tips and advice for us. They also set up inexpensive rides for us to tour the island including the famous Piton Mountains, and the La Soufriere Drive-In Volcano (both a must to see while you're there). There is also a big neighborhood party every Friday evening (Fish Fry) in anse La Raye (a must), where the locals have music, food, and souveniers for the tourists. The locals are so extremely friendly and nobody bothers you to buy things like other islands.

The rooms are huge, have a full kitchen, separate living area and bedroom (separated by a door) and have a fantastic view of Marigot Bay. Great value! We spent lots of time relaxing on the deck just sipping wine and watching the million dollar yachts float by...

A nice unexpected bonus and convenience and I dont know if they normally offer this, (we were the only people on the property at the time) but they served a fantastic breakfast with scrambled eggs, toast, bacon and a great selection of fruit most of which was grown on the property!

We will return, and hope to start an annual tradition! Loved it, and cant wait to go back!!
