San Francisco, CaliforniaGround floor condo, noisy upstairs tenant and little manager hel
Left on 04/30/2013 for a stay in April 2013
The property description - luxurious, totally remodeled, all the high-end hotel luxuries - is a stretch. We were a bit disappointed when we arrived given the very tight parking and run-down exterior, but the condo is close to the beach and in a decent neighborhood, so on balance we were happy. Unfortunately, we woke up at 6am Saturday to the sounds of loud footsteps overhead from the upstairs tenant, which continued constantly until about 10am. Globe Homes & Condos eventually responded to our calls and offered to move us to a comparably priced unit one town away. Unfortunately, our son has asthma (Globe knew of this issue when we first rented) and the other unit has had cats (very bad for our son), so we couldn't stay there. Globe offered no other alternative and told us we would have to pay for the entire six night stay if we left. We left the unit Saturday morning and were forced to pay for all six nights despite staying for only one. All in all a very unsatisfying experience.

Dear Guest:
While we appreciate your feedback, it is also important for our readers looking at this review to understand both sides of a situation.
As we are not a hotel and do not have identical rooms, it is not in our normal abilities to offer moves to other properties. We attempted to go above and beyond in your situation because we felt it the right thing to do under circumstance.
The property you stayed in, plus the property that we had attempted to move you to are both pet friendly. We take care to clean each property after each stay to be sensitive to allergies.
In regards to reaching out to you, once we offered a comparable alternative to your current home, we received a letter from you saying you were going to leave the property. As per our lease agreement, when you vacate a property, you don't get your money back, unless we can rent those nights you left for, and are still subject to a $250.00 penalty. We did not find a renter, so you unfortunately were not able to get your funds back.
In the future, please understand that we are on your side, and want to help you be comfortable. If that property we tried to move you to was not appropriate, please give us other opportunities as we are happy to help you, because we want you to be satisfied as a guest.
If you decide to leave, you are subject to our lease agreement, but if you let us, we will go out of our way to make you feel comfortable.
Thank you so much for your feedback, and please let us know if you have any additional questions.

Carol Stream, ILA great week long family vacation enjoyed by all.
Left on 07/20/2011 for a stay in July 2011
The house was very nice. My wife and I and our 15 and 12 year old daughters stayed there. Only 50 yards or so from the beach and ocean. Weather was between 75 and 82 the entire time. No humidity and we only saw one fly. We did the Hollywood, Rodeo Drive and stars homes tour in one day which should be done at two seperate times. Turned out to be an eight hour day. The C.S.I. crime scene tour is only about two months old but is well worth the money. Policeman we had on the tour (Craig) was great. Venice beach and all of its small shops on the strip are great for shopping as well as shops by the house. Parking in back is tight but manageable.Went dolphin and whale watching at New Port Beach. About and hour ride but we all really enjoyed it. My wife and 15 year old daughter also went parasailing there. They both enjoyed it. All in all a great family vacation. We were looking into hotels in the area and the cost of adjoining rooms for us 4 was only about $200 cheaper than the house and with the house you can go out a buy some food for breakfast and lunches and save some $ on dining out all the time for tours. Both my daughters want to go back next year. We will see deponding on $$.
