Cairo, EgyptHome away from Home
Left on 04/17/2013 for a stay in April 2013
First I would like to say that Derek was and has been very professional, and prompt about everything. He responded to my request within 48 hours by email, and phone. We were then able to talk and become a little bit more comfortable with one another. The arrangements were made and (my wife and I) then meet his sister in-law there in Marrakech at the apartment to view and finish the business transactions. The apartment was clean and looked exactly like the photos when the keys were handed over to us. My wife is Moroccan and I speak arabic so this was "Perfect" for us, as all of the local shops are nearby. This was truly "our home away from home" for the week that we were there. If you need to exchange money there is a bank branch located on the ground level of building on the main street. A large supermarket "Acima" about 3 blocks away. If you want to eat in or grab a few snacks just to stay within the budget. Everything that you need is nearby. We rented a car and were able to park it in the covered garage under the building (very convenience after a long day from the car to the lift to the apt.) I really thought that the apartment was just perfect for us; we were able to sit out on the terrace and just enjoy the evenings and the Moroccan night’s cool breeze. I simply adored the Moroccan style lighting that you will find throughout the apartment and on the terrace, it is very, very relaxing. It truly is an abeyance of (Marrakech) Morocco that you have to be there to understand. It's great! Even though we encountered one or two inconveniences with the apartment, this was just another way for Derek to show us how professional and courteous he truly is. This only confirmed the good impression that I had previously formed about him. And it left me with the confirmation of where we will stay the next time we are in Marrakech (God-willing) or any of our family or friends.

LondonThe Perfect Winter Vacation!
Left on 01/10/2013 for a stay in December 2012
This apartment 15 mins taxi ride from the centre of Marrakech was the perfect home away from home.
It had spacious rooms which were well stocked with everything you need, but by far, the best part of the accommodation was the large patio/balcony with table and chairs to just relax in while enjoying the smells, sites and sounds of the city including the atlas mountains. Every day was sunny and warm so this patio was well used for dinner.
The owner was very helpful before and during the trip and had family members meet us and be there for any issues (like how to work the DVD player).
There are many cafes, stores, banks etc right on your door step, everyone was exceptionally friendly and helpful. In addition, the apartment was the best value for money we could find.

Left on 12/28/2012 for a stay in September 2012
After staying in many apartments across Morocco, this was a wonderful surprise. We were welcomed on arrival and given easy parking in garage for our car. The apartment was spacious, well decorated, attention to detail, wardrobes, bedside tables, lamps and comfortable lounge. Plenty of utensils in the kitchen but not much work top space for cooking preparations. However, the roof terrace was stunning and eating out on the roof made our stay truly magical! Derek was on hand in UK by phone and email and kept us well informed. We would definitely return again.

Hudson, WiGreat apartment in Marrakesh neighborhood
Left on 11/17/2011 for a stay in October 2011
The apartment was indeed fantastic and very much as the pictures show it. It was spacious, comfortable, quiet and had all the amenities we needed. It is located in a neighborhood a solid 15 minute cab ride (once in the cab) from the medina. A short walk away is a large grocery store, and just across the street is a Wi-Fi cafe. Though we could find street or fast food places nearby, we never did find a local restaurant to sit down for a nice meal.
Though we liked the apartment we felt a bit isolated. It was not easy to go in and out of the center more than once a day, because of the hassle and varying costs of cabs and the additional time to go back and forth. If you are looking for a place where you can come and go throughout the day to the tourist, night, and shopping spots of Marrakesh, this is not an ideal location for that. If you want to see and experience daily life of the Moroccans, and to get away from the feel of being a tourist, this offers a great opportunity to do so.
The owner quickly responded to inquiries and was easy to work with. He is not an on-site landlord however, and though he had a designated liaison, they were not readily available.
We felt the apartment was a great value if it meets your individual needs. -

Was in Morocco visiting family in May 2011. The apartment was clean and tidy and thankfully, air-conditioned ! The weather was at times intolerably hot. The property is in a busy residential area but did not effect the ability to get a good nights sleep. A member of our party was initially quite distressed by the difference in culture and especially the poor treatment of, in the main mules/donkeys but became more accustomed as the week went by.
A couple of things would have been useful - patio umbrellas and sun loungers on the terrace.
There is a vast array of local shops inc the acima supermarket which was fine other than for those of us who may be wanting a bottle of wine on the terrace but this is easiy resolved by a visit to the acima in New Gueliz which is close by. Grand taxis are few in the local area but Petit Taxis (max 3 passengers by law) are many, always insist that the meter is turned on ! There is still much discussion regarding the final price but makes the experience all the more fun !
Used the bus service a few times which was fine but given the cost of taxi travel found this method of getting around more convenient.
We had a couple of days where there was no water for a few hours but was no major problem and did not manage to work the tv/dvd (female party) but again was armed with reading material so not a problem.
The location of the apartment was perfectly safe but would not recommend females alone in central Marrakech after dark, which would be the case in many cities of the world.
I personally would return, really friendly people, and if you love coffee as I do, seventh heaven !
Our return flights were not until early evening and Derek was kind enough to allow us to leave our luggage in the apartment until later that day, (obviously if people had been checking in this would not have been possible) which was much appreciated.

London, EnglandSpacious, comfortable apartment with amazing balcony
Left on 02/01/2011 for a stay in January 2011
Just stayed here for 4 nights and had a wonderful time. The apartment is has everything you could need and is very clean and comfortable. The owner, Derek, was endlessly helpful before we came, and on our arrival his neighbours couldn't have been more friendly. We had lots of meals and relaxation on the balcony, and although the apartment is a little out of town, it was very easy to get a taxi in, and nice to have a little haven to chill out after exploring the town

Newcastle upon TyneFantastic apartment for both couples and families.
Left on 01/10/2011 for a stay in January 2011
The apartment was absolutely fantastic. All possible amenities were available in the apartment. The apartment was clean, with fresh linen on the beds and towels. The apartment is ideal for both couples and families. Located close to two large supermarkets, in addition to a number of local convenience stores on the doorstep of the apartment building. The apartment is on the top floor of the building and has a very large terrace with dining table, which is great for breakfast in the sun. The local area is busy, however, noise is not a problem. The apartment has car parking, and is only a 15 minute drive to the hustle and bustle of downtown Marrakech. Dealing with the landlord was very simple, professional and friendly. I would thoroughly recommend this apartment to anyone wishing to stay in Marrakech.

This is a very clean and modern apartment located in the suburb of Massira. There are lots of buses to the centre ville. A petit taxi to the centre ville will cost between 40 and 70 dirhams. We were met by the very friendly owner. I was very glad of movie channel on TV. There is a lovely view of the atlas mountains from the enormous terrace. The beds were very comfortable. We also used the underground parking to park our rental car.
