Wow !!! Beatiful little cottage !!

Left on 01/06/2013 for a stay in December 2012

We stayed at the Duckling for a week after the christmas hustle and bustle and we couldnt have picked a better place to stay!! it was perfect place to relax and unwind, We took everything but the kitchen sink with us ! but there was no need to everything was there for you, even the coop is a stones throw away, the pubs are only a few minutes walk away and we highly recommend the Bay Horse and White Bear !! both do excellent food, The White Bear must be good, Jamie Oliver was eating there when we were !
If you are a couple looking for a nice comfortable romantic week away look no further than the Duckling !! We are checking our diaries now looking to book again !!!

Nice cottage with no garden and a poor view.

Left on 10/06/2012 for a stay in September 2012

This is a very nice cottage,The only thing spoiling it is there is no garden and the view is of the Co-op store. There are a lot of people walking past as there is access to the Co-op.We would however still book the cottage for a break as it does have very good deco and the seats are comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped with all you need. The pubs are within walking distance and if you like a pub where the manageress swears like a trooper go to the Bruce arrms.

      Home from home, only better!

We stayed in The Duckling in probably one of the wettest weeks of the summer - and that's saying something! We were subjected to day after day of rain so found ourselves staying in the cottage quite a lot more than we had intended to. We had planned to use it simply as a base. As it turned out we spent hours in the cottage so it was a good job that it was as good as it was. I can't fault The Duckling. It was cosy, immaculately clean and well decorated. Everything that we could possibly think of had been provided for us and plenty of things that we hadn't thought of. There were some lovely welcoming touches - a bottle of wine and a bar of chocolate as well as a welcome message on a chalk board in the kitchen. There were lots of Dvds and videos to watch, a selection of books to read and a whole rack of brochures and leaflets with information about the local area. There was also a visitor's book which proved informative as people had left their recommendations too. The locals were friendly, Masham itself is lovely (even in the rain), with a large market place, a selection of shops, a lovely church and a few good pubs. To cap it all I got home and discovered that I couldn't find my reading glasses. The owner text me and said they had been found and he posted them to me immediately. He was also very friendly and chatty on the phone when I rang before the holiday to enquire about the key and get directions. All in all a perfect holiday, apart from the weather. We would love to again and this time see Masham in the sunshine. Highly recommended.

From the wine upon arrival right down to the bubble bath, nothing was left out of this holiday rental. This is clearly a much loved home that is being opened up for the public. Everything was clean, matched and nothing was chipped or missing.

The village of Masham was charming and friendly with plenty of places to eat and drink out if you wanted. Everywhere seemed to welcome children as well.
