      Great girls getaway

Left on 04/21/2013 for a stay in February 2013

Rented several cottages so we had our own private compound. The cottages are well appointed and stylishly decorated. It was so relaxing to be right on the water, watch dolphins frolicking and hear soft calypso emanating from Bert's Bar. The owners are so nice, probably because they're dog people. We had a great girls getaway and my dog was able roam freely (and safely) within the gate. We will definitely return.

Great Cottage to get away with pleasant surprises around every c

Left on 06/01/2012 for a stay in May 2012

Staying at the Yellowdog Cottage was an awesome experience. My wife and I visited for a few days; me for a little fishing and the wife for a little shopping. The cottage location provided both and a few unexpected great surprises. The atmosphere of Matlacha is very relaxing , the locals are interesting and the surrounding restaurants are awesome. What made the visit over the top was the Seiberts who own the Yellowdog. They ensured we understood all the amentias , guidance on the area and treated us like one of the family. The cottage was clean, well prepared and exactly as the Seiberts described. We are looking forward when we can get away again to make the trip from Tampa down to the Yellowdog Cottages.

      Wonderful Weekend

Left on 02/20/2012 for a stay in February 2012

Had a wonderful weekend on Matlacha. The cottage was so cute! It was clean and inviting. We looked forward to returning every evening after a full day of exploring Matlacha and Pine Island and eating at the area restaurants. We didn't leave the area for 3 days, just had fun. The cottage was completely furnished with everything you need, including a small heater, which we needed because it went down to 45 one night. The view from the pier was so beautiful, just sat with a drink and enjoyed watching the dolphins, birds and fish, while enjoying the sunshine. We plan on going back again, we loved it!

Romantic Getaway in an Idyllic Setting

Left on 10/24/2011 for a stay in October 2011

When my husband & I needed to get away for some much needed R&R; with a touch of romance, our weekend at Yellowdog fit the bill perfectly! Once we stepped through Yellowdog's gate, we immediately started to relax. Owners Chris & Linda Seibert (accompanied by their 'smiling' golden retriever, Tiki) acclimated us to the property & provided us with suggestions for local restaurants/activities to enjoy during our stay. We had reserved the Redfish Cottage & found it to be remarkably spacious, comfortable & beautifully decorated. The unobstructed view of the bay & its mangrove forests were a romantic backdrop for sunset cocktails on our waterfront back porch. The highlight of our trip was the next morning: breakfast on the waterfront deck followed by a leisurely paddle board trip through the mangrove maze next to Yellowdog. There were dolphins feeding in the shallows, Ospreys overhead and not a soul in sight. What an amazing (and surpisingly easy) way to enjoy the beauty of Matlacha!
We didn't have to move our car the entire weekend. We walked to local restaurants (Andy's & Bert's), made a few purchases from Yellowdog's chic boutique & strolled through their impressive gallery filled with works from local artists.
Many thanks to the Sieberts for all they did to ensure our comfort & happiness during our stay! We look forward to returning to Yellowdog & exploring Matlacha by boat.

Hidden Gem on the Southwest Florida Coast

Left on 10/13/2011 for a stay in September 2011

Driving by, you'd never guess the experience that awaits you inside the privacy gate of Yellowdog -- the nicest cottages in the area, peaceful relaxing atmosphere, private boat dock, chic boutique, and fine art photography gallery, all in a sheltered enclave. The Redfish cottage is the ideal place to stay, with amazingly comfortable bed, upscale furnishings, and Key West style charm. We enjoyed the Hdtv, photography on the walls, comfortable furnishings, and beautiful colors, just the perfect place for a weekend away or as home base for enjoying the immediate area for boating and fishing (co-owner Chris Seibert has a fun charter fishing and sightseeing boat right there at the dock), best fishing on the coast near the Pine Island bridge, great food at a handful of local dining places, and close access for day trips to Sanibel-Captiva Islands, golf courses, etc. Great place for your fishing weekends, vacations, and romantic relaxing gettaways. (PS -- Cafe opening soon inside Yellowdog) Call Linda Seibert and put yourself in her hands for a perfect vacation.
