Great condo for a family getaway

Left on 04/25/2013 for a stay in April 2013

Excellent location. Loved the private beach which turned out to be a good snorkeling site. Very close to market and stores. Condo was very clean and included all the amenities including tons of towels, sheets, blankets. A couple of things were not working but overall I would recommend this to everyone. We did not golf but its very close to the golf course. Also 10 mins from the Hilton waikaloa resort which has lots of activities for kids

      Nice unit with some issues

Left on 02/04/2013 for a stay in January 2013

I really like Village Unit 604. The location of the unit, floor plan and furnishing are perfect for either 3 couples or a family. I suggest that the housekeepers be trained to check the lights, bathroom exhaust fans, etc so that renters don't have to call for service. The exhaust fan in the bath for the queen-bedded room didn't work and I don't think it was repaired while we were there even though I called for service. Also, the unit has ants. Suggest that regular visits by an exterminator be scheduled. Several light were not working by the time we left and I left a note for the cleaners.

The perfect place for a peaceful and relaxing vacation experienc

Left on 01/17/2013 for a stay in December 2012

Our stay at this village,,from December 16 to January 1, made our trip to the Big Island one we will never forget. The gated community was quiet with well-maintained grounds. The grounds workers were very friendly. The condo itself was perfect for our family of 6 adults and two grandchildren aged 7 and 4. The personnel at abbey Homes were available if we had any questions. The condo was clean, spacious, beautifully decorated and well-equipped. All we had to do was buy our groceries. The huge granite kitchen, like the rest of the condo, was like being at home where 6 adults could be preparing a meal or milling about and no one felt cramped. During our entire stay we ate out once preparing the rest of our meals mostly on the patio BBQ. We never ate at the dining room table...even our Christmas dinner was on the patio! We could walk to the grocery store to pick up essentials but the drive into Kona to Costco, Target, the Market served us well. The markets in Waimea were great as well. The short drive to the beach was wonderful with opportunities to relax under the cabanas, swim and snorkel in the ocean, suntan, build sandcastles, etc. The grandkids loved the pool in our resort. We loved our early morning walks. The golfing was great. We so enjoyed the hike down to the black beach at Pololu and would do it again. The day we swam with the dolphins on our grandson's 7th birthday was incredible! It sounds strange but it was difficult for my husband and me to leave the rest of our family on December 29 to join my fellow consultants on the Pride of america cruise. It was a relaxing vacation and what we got was a gem. We will be back to this island to continue to explore what it has to offer! Thank you abbey Homes for showing us that what we got was exactly as your pictures featured!

A lovely home-away-from-home on the Kohala Coast of the Big Isla

Left on 08/15/2012 for a stay in August 2012

This was our second time to stay in this expertly maintained and beautifully furnished condo. It has all the comforts of home and then some... plenty of space to spread out, gourmet kitchen and peaceful setting. There's a great little grocery store close by, a private beach with an excellent Hawaiian bistro (Napua) for an easy lunch break or mai tai after snorkeling, Mauna Lani spa and resort golf right around the corner. There's ample shopping and restaurants within a 10-20 minute drive from the condo. We had a great time.

      Beautifully furnished

Left on 12/27/2011 for a stay in December 2011

The house was perfect for our family (there was 7 of us). Very spacious and plenty of room for everyone. The house was beautifully furnished, well maintained and clean. The kitchen was well equipped so we had a lot of our meals at home. We were also able to connect our cameras and laptops to the home theatre system to share pictures & videos with the family. We had no problems connecting to the free wifi connection, which was very efficient and fast. We spent a day at the Beach Club which was only minutes drive away from the house. The house provides Snorkeling gear, boogie boards, beach chairs etc so we were all prepared for the beach. Location wise, Mauna Lani is about 30 mins drive from Kailua Kona (the town). Overall, we had a great stay at the house and wished we booked ourselves for a longer period. Thank you abbey Vacation Rentals for the prompt and efficient assistance from the very beginning. We would highly recommend this place to anyone.

      Best family vacation ever!

Left on 07/29/2011 for a stay in July 2011

I treated my family to a week on the Big Island, with this Mauna Lani condo as our 'home base.' We had 5 adults and two 2-year olds. The condo was perfect for us in every way. Plenty of room, lots of stuff for the beach, and the kitchen was used extensively! We hardly ever ate out. Abbey was great, as was Dorkel Rentals (we rented cribs, etc.). Definitely recommended for a family.

Spacious, clean, comfortable, private, and quiet vacation retreat

Left on 03/30/2011 for a stay in March 2011

Everything was as advertised and staff was very helpful when called upon (once). No glitches. Excellent internet service.

The location is conveniently close to shops and grocery store but not close to the beach - however, we knew that before we arrived.

Very comfortable home in a beautiful, relaxing setting.

Left on 12/15/2010 for a stay in December 2010

We totally enjoyed our stay. The home was very well kept, beautifully decorated, comfortable with a well-designed floor plan. The grounds were very nice. Convenient to golf, the beaches (Hapuna beach was great), Mauna Lani Resort's spa and fitness center. I love to cook so having an expansive kitchen with great appliances and a lanai for dining alfresco was a real plus. The house was also very convenient to local restaurants (Napua at the beach club was very good) and a very clean and well stocked grocery store at the nearby Foodland @ Mauna Lani.

      beautiful house, great vacation

Left on 06/23/2010 for a stay in June 2010

We went to Big Island with my parents(both in the 70's) and had a great time there. The house was beautiful and spacious just like the pictures in the website, and the view from the lanai was better than I thought. We enjoyed the gougeous sunset the first day, so we ate there and actually ended up spending most of our evenings there because of the gorgeous view. The location was very convenient, next to the shopping center with a grocery store which had pretty good food. Abbey Vacation Rental was also very useful. When I had questions before the trip, they gladly answered them. At first, we had problems with the internet and the TV so we called the people at abbey and they kindly sent us some people to fix our problems.
Overall it was a very good vacation for us and we would like to come back again.

Great place could use a few adjustments

Left on 06/09/2010 for a stay in June 2010

Ac was not working when we got there, made a call and got great assistance to remedy the problem but still had to have a repair guy come and assist. The circuit breakers were turned off and it took close to 3 hours for the house to get to the desired temp. It would have been helpful if someone from the management company had turned on the circuit breakers prior to our arrival and "pre-cooled" the unit as it was very warm for a awhile. Other than that the place is great and very useful for our purposes

      Lovely, relaxing, elegant... PERFECT!

Left on 03/16/2010 for a stay in February 2010

We so enjoyed our week at this Mauna Lani townhome! The decor was
absolutely beautiful, the kitchen and outdoor grill were awesome, living area
spacious and comfy, and the bedrooms and baths were stunning. I was
almost reluctant to leave for our daily activities because it was so much fun
just to nest there! Having the full-size washer and dryer was great.
The beach club was so private, set in a beautiful cove with nice cabana-
covered chairs for shade and a cute restaurant for drinks and snacks. We
enjoyed snorkeling there and just relaxing with a good book, watching the
      whales in the distance.
The staff was wonderful--we had trouble figuring out how to work the TV
surround sound, and they were over immediately to help us out. They were
even kind enough to send me an earring I'd left in our rush to the airport,
which I truly appreciated. (I really, really like those earrings!)
So nice to have the little grocery store next door, full of fun prepared foods
and everything you could need for an elegant or simple meal. We would
definitely stay there again... in fact, the sooner, the better.
