Stayed several times at the fairmont Orchid before venturing out into vac rental due to growing family. Spacious townhome, nicely decorated. Helpful owner David helped us with arrangements. Central location close to Fairmont Orchid-10 min walk. Beaches, both associated with the condo, as well as hotel available. Shopping complex close by. Free parking right next to townhome!

By far, this is one of the best rental homes we have ever had the pleasure of staying out while vacationing. Our family always prefers to forego the hotel experience in exchange for a more peaceful and independent setting. From the moment we set foot into this townhome, our expectations were exceeded on every level. You can tell that the owners have taken great lengths to insure the guests comfort is of utmost importance. One of our favorite things to do was grill fresh fish every night on our personal Viking grill out on the lanai, instead of having to share a public barbeque. The ambiance is so relaxing and warm, we hardly noticed anyone else around. I can't remember the last time I have slept so well; the beds were spacious and super luxurious with top quality linens. After a long day at the beach (there is a private beach here for guests only) and sightseeing, I really looked forward to taking a bath in the jacuzzi tub! The location was superb, very accessible to all the places we wanted to visit, shopping, airport yet far enough away we truly felt "we were getting away from it all". We will definitely be making reservations here again and are recommending all our friends stay here when visiting.

I don't know why anyone stays in hotels. This condo was amazing. We stayed for 8 nights and on the last day we decided we didn't want to leave so we extended for 4 more. Unfortunately this condo wasn't available so we moved to another in the same subdivision. The first one was much better, we'd stay here again when coming back.
The owner was extremely easy to work with, the management company was fantastic and everything was in order.
Having a full kitchen, full laundry, two bedrooms, wi-fi and a short walk to the pool means never staying in a hotel again. We probably saved $1000 on food/meals by being able to cook our own. We saved a lot of hassle by being able to bring a few days of clothes and doing laundry.
Again, I don't know why anyone stays in hotels. -

This townhome is located in a great spot in the complex - across from the pool and semi private (more than most). The interior is tasteful and well equipped. The owner was very responsive, helpful, and accommodating - couldn't have been better.
There is a grocery store nearby as well as shops and restaurants.
It was our first time at Mauna Lani and we enjoyed it a lot. The beach club is like a secluded private Hawaiian paradise. Great snorkeling and all the white sand, palm trees, and amenities you could want. would love to take my kids there on a future trip.
All in all a great experience - would like to go back and rent this exact townhome again.

We rented this unit in august 2011 for a week. Excellent location, quiet unit, close but not too close to the pool and gym complex. The condo was very clean with comfortable furniture in new condition; the kitchen is large and functional, and the outdoor gas grill provided many excellent barbecue opportunities. We ate several dinners outside on the patio with its large table and comfortable chairs. Mauna Lani is located perfectly for visits all over the island. This was a great place to stay for a week and a great value!

Santa Barbara, CASpacious, clean, modern luxury condo in perfect Big Island locat
Left on 08/08/2012 for a stay in July 2012
The condo was wonderful - probably the best vacation condo we've ever stayed in on any of the Hawaiian Islands! This is a truly luxurious condo - very new in its build and design. Its beautifully and comfortably furnished with very clean, immaculate furnishings. The kitchen is large, very modern, and exceptionally well equipped with clean and appealing utensils. The pool is huge and was a big hit with our kids. The condo is quiet and very private.
The condo's location on the Mauna Lani Resort complex is stunning. By staying here, we had access to the phenomenally beautiful private beach at the Mauna Lani Beach Club, which is a great beach for families. The nearby Foodland market is a 10 minute walk and has all the fresh fruit, fish, and staples one could want without having to leave the resort area - and prices are reasonable. There is an incredible fresh juice and smoothie place (Juices 101) and a great coffee/waffles place next door to Foodland. The location was also perfectly situated to see the Big Island. It is quiet and private, yet only 30 minutes from Kona and 20 minutes from North Kohala. It's also only about a 5 minute drive to Hapuna Beach, which is probably the best beach on the Big Island - and one often named as one of the best beaches in america. The condo is on the dry side of the Big Island, so the weather is constantly perfect and there are few, if any, mosquitos (unlike on the Hilo side of the Island). It's a much more relaxing place to base yourself than the more hectic tourist town of Kona. The condo benefits from being on the grounds of the Mauna Lani resort, but having our own luxury condo was far preferable to us than staying in a resort/hotel - more private certainly and more comfortable for kids. We loved getting food from some of the nearby farmers markets in either Waimea or Kona and cooking in our own luxury kitchen! Overall, we'd give this condo a 10 on a 1 - 10 scale.

Left on 08/06/2012 for a stay in March 2012
I am a resident of Maui who is enamored with the Big Island and when I can get away for a week or two my only choice of a place to be is at the Mauna Lani Resort. The unit I always stay at is very clean, very well appointed and comfortable. It is at a great location within the resort, close to pool and workout room. More importantly the grounds are well kept and beautiful. It's so relaxing to be on the private patio and have a view of the lush tropical plants and trees that surround the this area of the resort. It's truly a peaceful and safe place to get away from it all and is within walking distance to the beach as well as a Mall with great restaurants and shops. As we say here on the islands Mauna Lani is a bit of paradise in paradise.

Portland, ORExquisite privacy within reach of everything on the Big Island
Left on 08/05/2012 for a stay in March 2012
This townhome offers calm beauty, comfort and privacy. The kitchen is beautifully equipped for those who like to cook for themselves on vacation, with a big dining room table for company and a smaller table on the lanai for intimate dining and breakfasts. The living room supports conversation or screen time (and a comfortable hideabed). The bedrooms are spacious and open to Hawaii's delicious air. Mauna Lani has a terrific snorkeling and paddling cove (great outdoor restaurant, too), but the location is easy driving distance to volcano country, Wimea and upcountry, Kailua-Kona, and local shopping, dining and night life -- with an easy return to privacy and quiet.

We were truly blessed to have stayed at this resort. There was nothing more we could have asked for. Everything was perfect. Next time, we'll stay longer to enjoy this more.
