No need to search any further. Richard and Nina provided us a relaxing and 5 star retreat villa with all the amenities you could ask for. The house, onsite pools and fitness center were outstanding, but the highlight was spending time at the private and secure beach club. The club's lifeguarded beach/ocean-front was like swimming in a real-life aquarium. No need to spend additional resources on a chartered snorkeling/scuba diving excursion. This being our 4th visit to the Big Island, the location was just right for travels in any direction to the attractions...just book your trip with Kulalani 2006.

Victoria, CanadaBeautiful villa, great location

We stayed at this Villa for one week with my husbands parents and our 20 month old and our stay was wonderful. The place itself was immaculate and had everything we needed (laundry, full kitchen with every possible appliance you could think of, including a margarita maker!, two bathrooms, two bedrooms, etc etc). It was very quiet which was great for our 20 month old. The proximity to the pool was wonderful and also the access to the beach club was great for our 20 month old as it was a calm beach perfect for children. It was also a 3 minutes drive to a very nice grocery store which was extremely convenient as we cooked most meals ourselves. They had coolers, kids toys, boogie boards, snorkel gear, umbrellas which made beach trips very easy and meant we didn't need to buy or rent any of that stuff when we arrived. The owners were extremely responsive to questions we had about the villa and were very professional. I would highly recommend this villa.

Sydney, AustraliaGorgeous Condo

Kulalani, is a gorgeous condo, very well maintained and very clean. The pictures are very accurate of the condo.
Booking this condo was easy and the owners were very informative. Check out was also easy and the deposit promptly refunded.
Our family consists of two young children aged 7 and 4, and because of the attention to detail within the condo, we did feel a little on edge with the kids, but fortunately had no problems. We stayed only 6 nights, so did not get to use all that was on offer to us. The kitchen does indeed have almost ever appliance you could wish for and there is a great BBQ on the balcony area.
The highlight for us was the location with regard to the pool and fitness centre, it is literally right next door and so was perfect for our young family. The beach club which you have access to was an easy 5 minute drive (or 20minute run for me) is a cute beach and the condo has indeed every possible beach accessory for a great trip. The kids in particular loved the buckets and boggie boards.
The supermarket is a 5-10 minute walk and the shops at the queens and kings market further down the road have some cute shops to look at.
Definetly book in for the sunday brunch at Manua Kea and then go to the beach afterwards, it is a nice beach (but you need to ask for a beach pass at the entry gate). Sunset at KPC resturant at the hilton is a lovely way to spend the evening. -

From booking the resort to checking in and checking out, it was all a breeze.
What a fantastic property. Amazing location within the resort complex with immediate gate access to the gardens (pools and fitness center). The townhouse is beautifully appointed, was clean and very comfortable. We especially liked that there were plenty of spices, cleaning products, barbeque and top notch appliances. You literally have everything you would need. Beds were very comfortable, lots of pillows also available.
We really liked how close you are situated to so many great outdoor sight touring areas. Our favourite was the beach at Mauna Kea with great waves and amazing sand. Only drawback was limited beach access parking available.
We also really enjoyed Hapuna Beach but found there to be more currents in the ocean and these darn hard thorns in the sand. Not as clean as the next door Mauna Kea, but was still great. Both beaches are approx 10 minutes from the townhouse.
We did go to the beach club a couple times, but for short stints, we preferred the waves and beach at Hapuna and Mauna Kea.
The convenience of the supermarket down the street was another big bonus.
Not great shopping in the area for clothing, etc but we did venture to Kona a couple times and hit Target, Ross and Costco was excellent. Costco has the best prices around for food and alcohol.
We did go to the tourist zone in Kona, was ok, but a bit tacky.
When you go, you should definitely take the 2 hour helicopter tour with Blue Hawaiin Helicopter and tour the volcanoes and lush valleys on the Hilo side of the island. As well, there were brochures on the desk at the front door for a yacht company called Unbelievable, and it was. We chartered the boat for 4 hours of whale watching and we had an amazing time with my parents and wife. Just the 4 of us on a 52 foot yacht.
Overall I would highly recommend renting this property, you would not be disappointed.

Our stay at in unit 2006 at Kulalani was one of the few travel experiences we've had where everything about the accommodation was as good or better than advertised. Nina and Richard have done a fantastic job outfitting their unit so their guests can just relax and enjoy the wonderful surroundings.
A few of the highlights:
- unit is ideally situated in the complex (near the pools / hot tub / workout room
- both the unit and the common areas are in excellent shape and are well maintained
- unit is outfitted with every amenity including many unexpected touches like coolers, freezer packs and Rubbermaid containers for picnics, lawn chairs, umbrellas and boogie boards for the beach, etc.
- Beach Club is terrific (not too busy, good restaurant, excellent snorkeling)
We would go back to Kulalani 2006 in a heartbeat!
