Fruitland, ID, United StatesGreat weekend
Left on 09/04/2012 for a stay in September 2012
Could not have had a more relaxing weekend. Close to lake kids could walk right to it on dead end road not having to worry about traffic. Everything you needed in all rooms. Don't have dish at home so took a while to learn the TV.

Left on 08/27/2012 for a stay in August 2012
PROS: Close to Ponderosa Park, the beach, and the city, easy walk to each. Fenced yard. Clean kitchen and bathrooms. Comfortable seating in living room
CONS: Carpet in living room quite dirty with large stains, bedroom some staining; When we arrived, a part of the fence that was a very large gate was halfway off broken hinges and left large gaps where dogs could get out. Lifting it up straight and tying it with rope fixed the problem. As others have mentioned, lots of traffic and noise since it is very close to road at a busy intersection. Muddy area just as you walk onto backyard is a problem when trying to keep flooring clean. -

missoula, mt, United StatesPonderosa Cottage was tip top.
Left on 08/15/2012 for a stay in August 2012
The cottage was equipped with everything one would need to cook a gourmet dinner and serve it as you would in one's own kitchen. The bathrooms and laundry room also didn't lack for anything. The whole cottage was clean and cheerful. The negatives were minor: Since the weather was very warm, the house did get stuffy. We did open all the doors and windows all night which helped. However, the Aspen condos do not have air conditioning either, so maybe it isn't so important in McCall. The lawn sprinklers did operate every morning for a very long period of time, which also was a minor inconvenience. But overall, the whole experience was very good. We were positively impressed. It was very comfortable and a great home away from home. I would definitely recommend it to everyone. We had originally planned to stay at the Aspens as that was where our family reunion was, but they do not allow pets, so we searched around for a pet-friendly condo and found Ponderosa Cottage. It was a matter of either take the pet, or stay home. Leaving the pet was not an option. Thanks so much!

Roseville, CA, United StatesNoisy & Dirty Floors
Left on 07/31/2012 for a stay in July 2012
Owner was very nice, accommodating, and responsive. Property was disappointing due to 1) location (very busy intersection thus, lots of car, truck, motorcycle, and pedestrian noise). (2) Linens, dishes, bathrooms were clean. However, carpets and laminate floors were very dirty. Within 5 minutes of arrival, our crawling 10 month old and 3 year old were black from dirt.

This cabin is FANTASTIC! It has everything you need right down to the spices in the kitchen! We had a wonderful time relaxing at this home. It is a prefect location for your summer vacations with the beach and a dock slip just a block down from the house, it made for a much more relaxing vacation (and we are considering using it for winter vacation too). It was me, my hubby and 2 children, we had several different sets of friends come visit for the day and they were very impressed with the location and rate and are considering themselves renting the house. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back for more, if there were any open dates on the calendar this summer we would be trying to squeeze in another trip. Also, customer service was GREAT!! The TV on the 6th night stopped working, but the owner has a local manager that had a person there replacing the TV same day which I was SUPER impressed by. And on that note I was very impressed to find that there was DirectTV with a DVR... VERY NICE! Thanks so much! We will be back for many more vacations!

The unit was a great location for our stay. However, it was not ready at 3:00 PM, but 20 minutes late. Trash container was full, and pick-up not until 3 days later. Back door need new lock or repair.Reservation agent neglected one of our requests. General experience was positive.

The location of this property is its finest quality. Only a block from the entrance to Ponderosa State Park, it is ideally located for water access to the lake and hiking trails.
We took our dog and had a great time. The house was clean -- a little worn down, but certainly a place we felt comfortable. -

San Marino, CANice property, very convenient, super clean.
Left on 09/06/2011 for a stay in August 2011
I stayed here with my girlfriend for a few days, and it was a very nice little cabin. We had access to the boat dock which was convenient for drop off and pick up of others. The house was in fine shape and had all the necessary supplies for general cooking.
There is a garage where you can either park your car or park bicycles. It's a relaxing location, and although right on the main road to the Ponderosa campground, we never noticed any perceptible road noise. Quite quiet and peaceful. We also liked the very
short walk to town, or the convenience store a few hundred meters away. The cabin also had a laundry facility by the kitchen in case you need to wash a few clothes or towels. Overall thumbs up. -

I think people should know how close it is to the road - the long drive implies that the cottage is a good distance from the street but the traffic noise was huge! Other than that it was all good.

The description says two car garage. However, there was a Ford Explorer in the garage taking up a space. We came in two cars. The weather was below zero at night and we had to start our car before bed and first thing in the morning to avoid freeze ups.

The house is a very short walk to the lake and a very short walk to Ponderosa State Park, which unfortunately puts it on a busy street corner. The outside of the house could use a good de-spidering and the sprinklers ran so long the back yard was a swamp, but the inside of the house was in good condition and we had a very comfortable stay.

Kuna, IDQuick Pros/Cons to Ponderosa Cottage
Left on 07/22/2010 for a stay in July 2010
Cons: Right on the corner of a busy intersection. 50ft driveway would be challenging to park an RV in. House was older than expected (but well kept)
Pros: VERY close to Ponderosa state park (walking distance to some campsites). Plenty of dishes/pots/pans. Excellent hot water supply. Nice little enclosed back yard for kids to play in.
Summary - definitely would consider staying there again. -

Left on 07/20/2009 for a stay in July 2009
The house itself was very clean and cute, everything was brand new. However their were a few things that we did not like, such as the location, the house sits at an intersection that was very busy, theirfore very noisy pretty much all day, how we read the description of the location of the property was that it was right on the water, which, we discovered was much further away, within walking distance but not at all close. Also, to our surprise, Friday morning, a worker showed up to work on pipes under the house, we had no idea of this until he knocked on the door to let us know he would be shutting off the water for a while, although we did not mind this, a heads up would have been much appreciated, other then that it was a pleasant experience.
