Description from the manager

This is a great family cabin within walking distance to downtown and Payette Lake. It has 4 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms and can sleep up to 16 people. Dogs under 50 lbs are welcome too. (As long as they are on their best behavior!) It is adjacent to a large vacant field, making it great for snowshoes and cross-country skiing. Enjoy lots of privacy and nice views from back decks. There is room to park RV's and snow mobile trailers. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need for your family meals together. Off the dining room is a large patio with BBQ grill. Upstairs is a bedroom with a queen bed and twin/twin bunk beds, a full bat...Read more

      Tasteful decor and clean

Left on 09/08/2012 for a stay in July 2012

Decor was very homey and in good taste. Felt like home. Took my 95 year old aunt and other than the king bed being a bit high for her to get in without assistance, it was handicap useable. She needed a bit of help to get up front stairs but once on the main floor things were good. Very peaceful. only thing lacking was being lakefront.

      Loved it!

Left on 08/30/2012 for a stay in August 2012

We had 16 members of our family at the cabin. Although cozy for that many, it was a perfect spot for us. I have already reserved the location for a girls weekend. The cabin is beautiful and in a great location!

      Great Place!

Left on 07/31/2012 for a stay in July 2012

This is a very nice house with a great set-up. Bunk bed room, queen room and sleeper sofa downstairs. Queen and sleeper sofa on the main floor. Queen, bunk beds in the master upstairs and a sleeper sofa on the landing. The back deck was where we spent most of our time as there is a field behind the house and you can not see another house. Very cool to be in the middle of town and feel like you're in the woods.

Beautiful Cabin - Needs Bigger Water Heater

Left on 07/06/2012 for a stay in July 2012

The house was very clean and beautifully decorated. There were plenty of dishes and kitchen equipment for a large group. There were plenty of beds that were comfortable. It was close to downtown and an easy walk to the lake. Even with careful management, we didn't all get hot showers. But otherwise everything was lovely.

The whole trip was great, and that was definitely centered around the cabin. My only recommendation would be to have an option for music on the main levels. Otherwise, fantastic!

Stedman Cabin - Winter Carnival 2012 stay

Left on 02/01/2012 for a stay in January 2012

We needed to sleep 12 guys who were up for a long weekend of skiing and Winter Carnival fun. This cabin worked out very well for us. Location is very convenient to downtown. Kitchen and living room area are on the small side, but we managed just fine for the couple of days everyone was here.

      Vacation stay

Left on 09/08/2011 for a stay in September 2011

House was great for accomodating two families, and room for a 5th wheel trailer. House was well stocked and had all the amenities a family would need. Negatives, the trash was almost full, and there were trash bags in the garage that hadn't been taken
out. No propane in the BBQ grill. Lots of bees, one of the kids got stung 10 times right when we got there, needless to say we had to take the lil guy to the hospital to make sure he wasn't allergic...overall it was a nice place.

      Great Family Reunion Site

Left on 08/07/2011 for a stay in August 2011

This property is extremely well appointed. Everything we needed was there. The laundry room with storage gave us additional convenience. It is a beautiful site. Although we spent most of each day at the lake, evenings were very comfy with the huge deck as well as the large living room. We had a wonderful time. My only complaint was the lack of attention to the cleaning. I know the owners collect a cleaning fee but wonder if the cleaning folks should be a little more thorough. Not bad, just not the standard I would expect for the price.

Great Time at the Stedman Cabin

Left on 07/30/2011 for a stay in July 2011

This was our first experience renting a vacation home and everyone in our large party agreed that this is the only way to vacation from now on. The three levels enabled us to spread out and be very comfortable. The location was good and the beds were topnotch!

A great cabin to make 14 people comfortable

Left on 07/26/2011 for a stay in July 2011

The size of the cabin is misleading from the front/outside. It has a bunch of rooms and 3 stories. We were able to feed and entertain 14 people comfortably. The cabin looks like it has been remodelled recently with upgraded furniture. The lighter carpets had some wearing and a little bit of dark marks - you should note this when you get to the cabin so your rental company is aware. We noticed a dent on the upstairs door and some paint wear in the kitchen when we arrived. Alas, I was impressed at the ease of the checkin process. The key is essentially waiting for you at the door. It's walking distance to hwy 55 and you have the choice of the Mill and a couple other places for eating. It says, "walking distance to downtown," but it's a 25-30 minute foot walk to get to the downtown spots. Overall, a great cabin. I'd definitely do it again!

I would provide a warning to keep trash can inside garage, picking up after bears is no fun for the teens. Cabin and deck were wonderful, enjoyed the stay, nice quiet street, convenient to everything

Would stay again in a minute!

Left on 07/19/2011 for a stay in July 2011

We loved the Stedman Cabin! We were 6 adults and 7 kids and we fit perfectly with extra space! The beds are out of this world - maybe the best part of the whole experience. We also loved how stocked the kitchen was for cooking great big family meals. Loved the view from the back porch, and found it super easy to walk in and get ice cream at the Ice Cream Alley every night! Just had a super time and would recommend it to anybody staying in McCall.

A great place for a retreat

Left on 09/14/2010 for a stay in September 2010

There were 15 ladies who rented the cabin for a women's retreat. We found the place to be clean, and the furnishings to be wonderful. The door to the bathroom in the upstairs bedroom was off the runner and it made it difficult to close, and very noisy. That is the only thing we found that was a problem of any sort, but we handled taht fine. The kitchen was well stocked with things we needed. We got a lot of good comments from the ladies. They liked the house very much.

It was very hot and we definitely could have used air conditioning. If not full air conditioning then fan in the master bedroom. Otherwise you receive glowing comments.
