We loved this place! It was just around the corner from the ski lodge and very convenient to Restaurants and stores. It wasn't located on a high mountain where you may experience difficulty with the ice and snow in getting yourself and your vehicle in and out and there was ample parking for our group. It has a great water view and the decor and amenities were also extremely nice.

8 golfers stayed at this property - - mid May. Only 3 minutes from the Wisp course. This was our second time staying here, everything was great.

We stayed at avalon Gold & Ski for New Years 2011-2012. We had been planning this ski trip for sometime, unfortunately upon our arrival we realized there was no snow. That said there were plenty of other things to do around the house. The hot tub was broken which was a bummer, but we had foosball and a dvd player to keep ourselves occupied. The kitchen is big which is great because it seemed that everyone congregated there. Although the house is in a neighborhood, the way the homes are situated it has a feeling of seclusion. It was a great vacation.

Thank you for the review. We sincerely apologize for the hot tub issue. It was beyond our control. We have since addressed the problem and the hot tub is up and working again. Give the home another shot, and we will do out best to ensure you get to use all of the amenities. Plus, we have snow now also, over 16 inches fell this week.

This was our second time renting this home. We rented the same home two years ago as well. We loved the accessibility of the wrap around porch and the main floor of the home as my sister is physically handicapped. We were disappointed that the community fishing ponds were not accessible via the walkway to the gazebo. This was blocked off with a "no trespassing" sign. However, some of us were able to fish from the bank behing the home and from the home's private boat dock. The home itself is warmly decorated and has many of the comforts of home. We loved sitting out on the porch in the mornings and evenings. The home is a short drive to the lake activities and wisp resort. We look forward to renting this home again in the winter for some snow tubing.

The house was wonderful. It had plenty of space and a perfect back yard for older visitors. The dogs loved watching the birds from the wrap-around deck and eating at home was a breeze with all the kitchen utensils provided. The location was perfect, with both Wisp and the lake just two minutes away.

Lovely property, conveniently located. First trip with our dog, so we were a little worried about what a pet friendly property would be like. No worries! No pet odor, no dog hair, just a slightly worn couch. The property was spacious and welcoming, and my boys (5 and 10) enjoyed fishing at the pond several times a day. Would rent again in a flash.

Our small golf group enjoyed our stay at Avalon Golf & Ski. Nice clean property with convenient access to the course and other surrounding attractions.
Hard water was the only minor downturn.

Very nice and workable winter home rental. works very nice since the down stairs is so secluded from the upstairs
came in late was given the wrong house Avolon that would not have acommidated our group and our rented house was already full but with the after hours help of Shelia Kramer, manager, we were able to re-locate to Avolon and she loaned us an additional bed and bedding of hers and hleped us out on the cost
Because of that we will come back again as we have in the past and will recommend you folks to our many friends that go out to western MD mainly for the fact that you made it right and you made it work
I own several vacation homes that I rent out myself and have managment companies do others so I know how hard it can be when problems arize

The house was beautiful but the well water was terrible. It left you unable to wash laundry or have clean bath water. The location is great for walks or fishing but the water issues overwhelm those pluses. The dock is great but it needs a safer walk-up to it or a wider board to connect it to the dock. The home was comfortable and clean. We were bummed when we had to be moved but we liked Golden Retreat. The house is also well located. Thank you for your concern about the well water issues.
