This house was very nice for it's size and age. Clean and cute. The location was amazing. Right on the water with our own little beach and dock. We rented a kayak and went out everyday. They kids played in the sand and swam from the dock. The house is small and older but well cared for and the location couldn't be beat. Would definitely rent again.

We have stayed in the Calico Cottage for a week the past two 4th of July holidays. The first year we loved it so decided to stay again. It was reasonably priced for a 4 bedroom house directly on the lake. There is also a huge yard and great dock to enjoy the outdoors.
However this year we were not too happy. Although we were aware that this home was pet friendly we were not too fond of the endless amounts of land mines in the yard that my 11 month old was fascinated with. We also were not too appreciative of the clumps and clumps of dog hair everywhere. I swept and swept and swept and still each time my son would drop his bottle it would be covered in dog hair. So frustrating. We called Coldwell Banker to let them know about these issues and also about a flood in the laundry room. They did send someone to "re-clean" the place, which was awkward in its self standing there while someone attempted to mop the floors while you are trying to make lunch for your family. Then to top off this week vacation we plan a cookout, set up a ton of yard games, kiddie pool,
chairs, etc. and two men show up to cut the grass!!! So we had to move
everything .. it was a nightmare. I promise you I did more work/cleaning in that week, I could not wait to get home to relax!

I really liked the Calico Cottage as did the rest of my family. We would proably stay there again, but I think we will need a bigger place more people want to come with us the next time we go to Deep Creek! The bedrooms are a little close together not much of a hallway, so sometimes it feels like you are on top of one another but all in it was great!

We really enjoyed staying at Calico Cottage. The yard was wonderful with small children and the privacy of the dock made it good. It was great for the children to have a small beach area and to be able to walk in the water. The house was small but it worked for us. We weren't in the house much but to sleep. We had wonderful weather. If our family grows anymore, then we won't be able to stay there.

Calico Cottage was a great place to spend a week.
Beautiful lakefront setting, huge yard, front and back.
Lots of yard activities. Rented a boat and docked at our front door.
Only downfall was bedrooms were a bit small, but we still had a great time. We would rent this home again!
