Nice house for a weekend getaway

Left on 09/05/2012 for a stay in September 2012

Stayed here for the Labor Day weekend with a small group (total = 7) of friends. Location was nice for as as the house sat off the road. There are houses on either side of this house. It was easy to find, if you knew to look for the Caldwell Banker sign with 394 on it and we had the address in the GPS. You have to drive to get to the lake.

The ground floor had a dehumifier running, but it still had a minor musty odor. This is where the billards and ping pong tables were.

The upstairs and loft were very nice. Each had a full bathroom. The deck does not have access, except from the house. This was great for our dog (and would be good for small kids). The hot tub was on the deck by the kitchen window. The kitchen had adequate items for cooking. The kitchen table only had seats for 6 and there was another small table for 2 in the Living Room. There was an outside table with 5 chairs.

There is no a/C. Even though the temperatures were only 80, it was humid. The ceiling fans did not circulate air over the Dining Room table, so it was alittle warm. Not main floor bedrooms did not have fans. There should have been some type of floor fan available in the bedrooms. The loft bedrooms did have ceiling fans that worked well.

There is only 1 TV was worth watching in the Living Room. The others were not connected or were old tube style. No stereo worth turning on.

We had a great time and enjoyed ourselfs. I would rent this house in the late fall thru early Spring, but not when it is humid or when warm.

Pretty fun place even with it's flaws.

Left on 08/06/2012 for a stay in August 2012

8 of my friends and I recently stayed at Peace N Quiet for a week.

Pros: The house has some nice things like a pool table, ping pong, hot tub and a nice tv in the living room. The layout of the house is pretty nice to have plenty of space for the whole group to hang out while still providing places to be alone. The land it sits on is nice and feels secluded but not overly so. The house is located pretty close to a lot of fun attractions as well as a Wal-mart and other shops. Bathrooms were nice as well.

Cons: It says that it sleeps 10 but only if you have 5 couples and one couple is ok with sleeping on a really uncomfortable couch bed. For us, we had to buy an air mattress as well as have people sleeping on the couch in the basement and upstairs. There is no insulation between the upper bedrooms and the lower rooms. Just boards. It is extremely loud when someone is walking upstairs or even talking. It really limits the feeling of privacy in your own bedroom. It sounds like they are in the same room as you. The air conditioner either doesn't exist or just doesn't work. The house got very hot and there were no floor fans to help alleviate this problem. Just a few really high ceiling fans in the main room. Also, the doors leading outside of the house didn't close well and the bedroom knobs downstairs have locks but they do nothing. It is not located on the water either. The fridge is a little small so if you plan on have food and a case of beer, you may want to bring coolers and ice for the beer. It would be nice if they had an extra fridge in the basement.

As a group of late 20's, these problems existed but didn't really bother us so much that we didn't still love the place and the time we had. For the price, it's worth it. Just don't expect something super fancy and you will love it too.

      Excellent Place

Left on 02/16/2012 for a stay in February 2012

The place was just as advertised: clean, comfortable, and has a large living room/kitchen area that easily fit our group of 7. The only negative was that the driveway was covered in snow the entire time of the visit, so if you plan on visiting in winter make sure to have a 4 wheel drive vehicle.

had a nice week stay at peace and quiet..deer everyday to eat the apples in the back yard...comfortable furniture and flat screen tv..with gas fireplace made this home very much like home...wireless internet and hot tub made our stay enjoyable...our beagle also loved all the wildlife from the deck...ground hogs ...chipmunks...and the deer which visited several times a day...not always the same ones...i guess the apples made peace n quiet their favorite spot.

      Very Nice Home

Left on 09/14/2011 for a stay in September 2011

Very nice home, my family loved the home, as did I. only concern we had was with the basement- you couldnt sit on the couch in the basement because it was damp due to the dampness in the basement, and the baseboards looked like they may have been getting spots of mold...there was a musty smell, but the rest of the home was nice
