Washington D.C.Great winter fun -
Left on 02/09/2011 for a stay in January 2011
We had a great time, being on the lake, close to wisp restaraunts, and entertainment. However we were disappointed with the house, since we were lead to believe it was a 4 bedroom house when in fact it was only 3 with a loft. Therefore one couple had absolutley no privacy which would be fine with family but with a group of friends very uncomfortable. Not to mention the beds in the loft were horrendous and the girl who stayed in one of them had to see a dr due to serious back pain!

Monaca, PACozy family getaway with all the comforts of home surrounding yo

We frequently stay at Landmark Village #1 due to the proximity to the restaurants and shops. We also enjoy the lake front property for taking leisurely walks and the view. The hot tub is an extra bonus--even our 95 year grandmother enjoys it! The compactness of the home yet having everything you need: plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, a family room and kitchen area are not spread out so much that people go off on their own.

The major drawback on this house was the road noise. No one told us the house was so close to a major highway. There was no central air which was also a problem.

PittsburghMemorial Day Weekend Stay
Left on 06/09/2010 for a stay in May 2010
Overall, the stay was nice. I traveled in a group of 8 which fit comfortably in the house. The loft, which had two single beds, was a tight squeeze for two adults, but we made it work with little issue. We had two separate issues with the hot tub, but Railey had technicians repair both problems in a very timely fashion. The location of the house, which was right off the main bridge, was not as remote as I would have liked, but that's what you get reserve a spot so close to the vacation weekend. Railey Mtn. Lake Vacations provided great service, both leading up to and during our stay and will certainly be reserving with them for this weekend next year.

For the weekend rental price - the house was OK... BUT we read through the books.. and just about every entry had the same - hot tub is not hot! and guess what .. it wasn't! I would not advertise this house as having a hot tub - and also.. it had not even been serviced with chemicals since who knows when!

gaithersburg, marylandLandmark #1 - review
Left on 02/11/2010 for a stay in February 2010
Our stay at the Landmark #1 was overall very nice.
The location was about three miles away from the
WISP ski resort and in close proximity of a major
road. The rooms were cozy and the overall place
had a lot of charm. We did have two issues however.
We arrived February 5th with the intention of
leaving early the next morning to go to the WISP
ski resort. That evening it continued to snow
heavily. Saturday morning, it was not possible to
leave at 8am since the driveway had not been
shoveled. This set us back about 2 hours. When we
returned from skiing later on Saturday, the
driveway was finally cleared for us. The second
issue we had was the hot tub. The temperature of
the hot tub would quickly drop to the low 90's when
we got in, and would not increase despite turning
up the heat. Aside from these two inconveniences,
we enjoyed our stay. -

Washington DC areaA bit neglected
Left on 01/06/2010 for a stay in December 2009
We stayed with another family for two nights. The home had more beds than we expected, and the layout was good for two families. The second floor was very hot and it was hard to regulate the temperature there; one of the bedspreads was dirty; the wood outside was all wet so not useful the first night. Some of the glasses and pots and pans were not very clean--in general, it felt like the place had not been used much.
