My family of four and my brother's family of five have vacationed together in Deep Creek Lake for about 15 years straight now. We had a place that we have stayed in for about 8 years or so but that was taken this year so we chose Wilderness Lodge. This place was perfect for us with the two master suites/master baths. We loved hanging out and catching the views on the two huge decks and loved the short walk to the lake. Our old place was getting a little cramped due to our five kids becoming young teens but this place gave us plenty of room. We never felt crowded. The house was clean and well maitained and couldn't really say anything negative about it. Loved the large kitchen and dining room. The only thing we would have liked is to have our own private pier rather than have to share with others. Great vacation!!!
Poor Servicing of Property

I have rented from you and L&F in the past and have always had great experiences. This time was different. I knew the home had a steep drive so I called the day prior to our arrival to ensure it had been plowed which I was assured it had been. We arrived at 5pm and there was 3 feet of snow in the drive and 6 foot drifts in front of the house. You said a plow would be there in 30-45 min and we finally got into the house at 10pm. The plow said it needed to come back and finish the next day because the turns were still too tight, but they never showed. 2 people showed up to help my husband shovel 6 feet of snow drift to get to the front door after the plow left. There were no hand, face or kitchen towels in the house, nor were there linens for the pull out couch, trundle bed or pillow cases. It was too late to call that evening, so I let you know at 9am when you opened. Those finally arrived after 5pm. Lastly, the carpets had never been vacuumed. There was old popcorn kernels and sox lint all over. I know it was a challenging weekend for you with all of the snow, but I still consider the service to have been unacceptable.
A great Surprise

We did not originally rent Wilderness Lodge. But because of the health of one of my family members, we did have to change reservations. Railey was just so gracious to help us solve our problem. Wilderness Lodge was offered and we could not have had a nicer vacation with extended family. The house was very clean, and accomadated many members of our family. We spent lots of time on the dock and back decks but it is close enough to many community things that we felt we could drive to many activities. We definately liked this house and our vacation. The bottom floor seemed a bit damp at times but this was not really much of a problem.
it was amazing!

I rented this house for a second time. First impression was unbelievable. Size of the house,
hot tab, fireplace, huge windows with gorgeous view, fireplace outside (we enjoyed so much baking potatoes in the fire at night), colorful leaves, lake with sun blinks, renting boat for 2 hours, mountain coaster with hunted house and many other things.. .
I feel so exited to tell my friends about this vacation, that everybody wants to go there too.
But house was not prepared for our visit.
No hot water, cold hot tub, sauna not working. Also would be nice if maintenance people call every day asking if there anything we need. Like clean towels. Or floor has be vacuumed.. Small things like that would make our vacation even more enjoyable. For the money we payed, I think it is O.K. to ask for some extra attention.
Anyway, it is a beautiful place. I want to come back there again. And I would recommend it to my friends.
Hoot of a good time

We have been coming to McHenry every year for the past 8 years. It is always a great time but this year the house definitely suited your group. It was a perfect getaway.
