Come to this rental villa on Lake Maggiore, the "lakes district" of Italy, and experience the joy of finding that perfect spot on the water to enjoy your latte as you journal; the wonder of buildings and ruins stretching into antiquity; the sublime satisfaction of finding the restaurant that serves the best meal you've ever eaten... It's hard to believe that all of this could be found from one vacation villa in Piemonte-- but it is, along with the thrill of having your very own villa right on Lake Maggiore. Oh, and did we mention that you'll have your own beach, too?

[1000 m2] This Lake Maggiore villa enjoys a fantastic lakefront positi...on with its own terrace over the water and a small private beach! A wisteria-covered outdoor dining area offers a lovely, peaceful place to have lunch or dinner, while the private garden has a selection of rose bushes, magnolias, azaleas, and many other flowers. Please note that while the gardens are peaceful and private, the back of the house faces the lake road. You should expect some normal traffic noise and the sounds of people in town. There is parking for one or two small cars.

Ground Floor: A comfortable, cheerful living room welcomes you with two large windows framing the view of the garden and the lake. An adjacent dining room has seating for eight people, while the eat-in kitchen is fully equipped with a gas stove, oven, dishwasher, and washing machine.

First Floor: Upstairs you will find two bedrooms. The spacious orange room has a 180 cm king-size bed and beautiful lake views. The blue bedroom contains two 120 cm single beds. This bedroom has windows over the road, so it will experience traffic noise. The two rooms share one bathroom with a sink, toilet, bathtub, and separate shower.

Second Floor: Here a pink bedroom contains two twin beds [can be combined upon request] with large windows facing the lake. It has a bathroom with a toilet, sink, and shower.

All bedrooms in the house have fans.

On the southwestern end of Lake Maggiore in Piemonte, this villa rental is located in the lakefront village of Meina, an area that has been inhabited since the Bronze Age. After being passed from one hand to another for centuries, in the 1800's it became a holiday resort of the upper classes from Lombardia and Novara. Today, with about two thousand inhabitants, Meina offers a selection of restaurants, shops, gelateria, a market, and a bus stop within a radius of 70 to 700 meters walking distance. There is also a pizzeria just behind the villa itself. Meina also offers easy accessibility to other areas of the lake, as there is a ferry dock. The train station in Arona, a few kilometers away, offers service to Milan which takes about an hour. Lake Maggiore as a whole offers visitors spectacular gardens, historic villas and castles, and medieval churches. An impressive number of nature parks dot the area, including the enormous Parco Nazionale dell Val Grande. Mountains provide impressive backdrops to the lake scenery, and each little village with its painted houses seems like a little terrace on the water. In the center of the lake, north of Meina, you can visit the enchanting Borromeo Islands, which hold palaces and gardens. In addition to exploring the local sights [by car or boat], you can also participate in many water-based sports, including sailing, water skiing, and canoeing.

Malpensa [airport]: 45 minutes by train, 1 hour by car

Swiss border: 30 minutes by car

Stresa: 10 km

Arona [train station]: 4 km

Bus stop: 5 minutes on foot

  Wonderful. The location on the lake was outstanding. We enjoyed having morning coffee on the lake and taking sunrise pictures. The view was incredible. The house was comfortable and had all the conveniences. It would have been helpful to have written instructions on how to operate the washing machine. The location was convenient to Stresa via bus.
  
  The location and size.
  
  Road noise was a bit of a problem. The couple who had the roadside room took sleeping tablets since the noise was constant but unavoidable. I would recommend that people have ear plugs until they are used to the noise.
  
  Stresa and the islands were beautiful. Even my husband who I did not think was a museum-goer enjoyed the castles.

  Excellent. Very relaxing.
  
  The master bedroom window is perfectly sited for a beautiful view of the lake.
  
  Car noise from the road gets a little old, but shouldn't be a problem for city dwellers.
  
  The Parma Restaurant just across the road was excellent--try the Bufalina cheese pizza!

  Loved it-loved it-loved it!
  
  Being able to swim and fish; being able to walk to the excellent alimentari to purchase food to prepare for dinner or even a pre-made dinner roasted chicken, interesting vegetable medleys; great central location to other points of interest; you could easily walk to a dinner location across the street or down the street; the pizzeria across the street is actually a hotel with a good restaurant.
  
  Some street noise, but you stop hearing it after a while.
  
  The area is gorgeous - close to Stressa, a crazy drive to Bellagio, and don't EVER forget Lake Orta!
