Description

Ours is a fully renovated old house with a homely feel in the UNESCO World Heritage Zone with easy access to all the tourist sites. The duplex home accommodates up to 6 persons with modern facilities. Enjoy staying by the river with a magnificent view.

This home provides modern comfort amidst the old city. Situated in the UNESCO World Heritage zone, it is 5-15 minutes walking distance from all the tourist/historical sites and Jonker Night Market on the weekends . The guesthouse accommodates 6 persons comfortably.

The pantry and dining area is equipped with a mini fridge, microwave oven, hot water boiler & toaster. Drinking water, coffee and tea is provided. The living area comes with cable TV. There is a hot/cold water shower room for the occupants of the quad (tatami style) room on the lower level. The master bedroom upstairs has a balcony with a view of the river ; the perfect place to chill out in the evenings. The ensuite hot/cold water shower and bath has a private walk-in wardrobe area. The indoor area of the house is a 'no smoking' zone (except for the outdoor balcony in the master bedroom)

We would check guests in upon arrival and collect keys upon check out. Guests would enjoy complete privacy during their stay but could call us for assistance at any time.

This part of Melaka has a quaint old charm to it. Historically, the river at the back of the house was used by boats for the spice trade. The grounds of the old Javanese Village still remains across the river. The buildings along the river used to be go downs and redistribution stores for trade. One could take a walk, jog or dine at any of the restaurants and cafe's by the scenic river. A 20 minute walk along the river brings you to a the Melakan Morten Village. Trading on this street continues as wholesalers still operate in this neighbourhood. Temple street, Jonker (Night Market) Street, Heeren Streets, Stadhuys and historical sites are within 250 metres. Two prominent shopping complexes are within 20 minutes walk.

Most sites are within walking distance unless one wishes to go out of the old town area. There are busses via Sentral Melaka Bus station to the Zoo, Butterfly Park or family water theme park or from the Stadhuys to the Portuguese Settlement waterfront for an evening seafood dinner experience. Alternatively, we could assist to make arrangements for taxis. For guests who are driving, there are on street parking bays @RM0.60 per hour based on parking tickets from 8am-6pm Mon-Fri, 8am-1pm Sat and free on Sun. There is direct bus service from KL IA/LCCT airports to Melaka Sentral bus station. Please check schedules on this and other sectors on transnasional bus website.
