    Additional Location Information

Elsternwick, established in 1856 and with a population of of 9,286, is 9km South East of the Melbourne CBD. Elsternwick took its name from the largest property in the district: Charles Ebden's house Elster (Elster is German for "magpie" de:Elster). The area was known as Red Bluff before this. Elsternwick is a quiet picturesque inner city suburb. However, it borders St Kilda, and so, although Elsternwick is quiet, its only 2 minutes from the hustle and bustle of St Kilda. Completely incongruous with the quiet suburban nature of the suburb, Elsternwick is the home of perhaps the best known brothel in the world, the Daily Planet, which was the first in the world to be listed on a stock exchange (theAustralian Securities Exchange). Glen Huntly Road in Elsternwick has a variety of cafés and restaurants.

Adequate for the long weekend, but value was not there

Left on 01/28/2013 for a stay in January 2013

I'll accept that it was the australia Day Long weekend, so prices were up, but I thought this property was poor value. The main bedroom was very generous, but next to the local train line...quite noisy. I had specifically asked the person I booked with about noise from the rail line and was told they had not received any complaints about it. I took them at their word...consider this a complaint! Facilities within the apartment were very good...fully equipped kitchen etc. but the biggest negative was the tiny second bedroom...this was an internal room with no window...uncomfortably warm, the only aircon available in the lounge area. My brother ended up sleeping on the couch...he was not a happy camper!. At these prices, I would have expected a meet and greet, just to show how things worked. We rented 2 apartments, the car space for one had too much furniture in it to safely park our rental car. The building looks very modern and new, but the carpet was already looking quite worn.

Overall the reviews for this apartment are good. Please note that it clearly states on our website that the bedroom has internal windows only and it also explains that it is on a train line. We regularly look at amenities of each apartment including carpets and ensure that it is kept looking as fresh as possible.

Michael and Darryl were excellent to deal with. Property was not my initial choice but was suitable. Any issues were dealt with swiftly and impressively by team. Highly recommend this organization.

Modern, comfortable & clean and close to railway

Left on 02/08/2011 for a stay in January 2011

All up a great apartment, we have stayed in Expresso apartments before. Modern and clean. Love having a coffee machine in the apartment too. The only down side of this particular apartment was the second bedroom was very small, okay for young children but not for two couples.
