Local Area Notes
Brunswick, one of Melbourne's oldest suburbs, is a multicultural suburb with Victorian architecture and narrow streets that welcomes all kinds of people. You will find families, professionals and those with an alternative view on life which is what makes it such an interesting place.
Brunswick offers an interesting selection of colourful stores, cafes, restaurants and bars, and a lively music scene. For galleries and some more trendy cafes visit Lygon Street in East Brunswick, a short stroll away.
Due to the many ethnic and professional groups that live here side by side, Brunswick is a great place to visit for its bohemian lifestyles, chicness, grunge and culture. The area is among the best-served by public transport in Melbourne. Brunswick itself is relatively flat and is ideal for cycling.

Loved the location - everything we needed was only minutes away by foot. The huge park next door was our dog's favourite. The apartment itself is setup with a lot of attention to detail and Chris was a caring host from first contact to after we had left.

Don't be put off by the suburban look from the outside. Inside it's stylish and very comfortable. Really comfy beds & a well equipped kitchen. For us it was in a good location, and extremely well priced for what it offered.

Left on 01/21/2012 for a stay in January 2012
We stayed in the Southbank apartment owned by Staycentral and found it to be beautiful and located very close to CBD, including the australian Open. Other important positive points: free internet, in-apartment laundry, and included parking space, which makes for a much better and easier trip! The owner communicated well and even called to check in early in our stay to make sure we didn't need anything. Only criticism is that bedroom is a little small for two people, all their stuff and the king sized bed-we ended up leaving our suitcases in the living room.

We have stayed in 3 of Stay Centrals apartments on half a dozen occasions, and will be going back again twice this year. They always are well presented, clean, very comfortable and with easy access to Melbourne and all it's appeal. I would thoroughly recommend them to anyone who wants a weekend, or in our case, a couple of months away from home.

I stayed in this beautiful, perfectly located apartment in October for 5 days and loved it! Great for family, couples and friends. The apartment has everything in it so no need to drag a bunch of stuff with you. I will be back again for my next Melbourne trip.

Left on 10/26/2011 for a stay in October 2011
Me and my sister arrived in Melbourne and took a cab straight to Sydney Road to enjoy our stay! It took us a hour to get to our key as the code was wrong but that was the only negative thing on our whole stay. Mr McDonald was quick to fix the error and very helpful. A perfect host. The apartment is clean and there are everything you need. Tram is located conveniently right outside the apartment and 7/11 next door. I most certainly will be back for another stay again.

We, a party of 5 stayed in this 2 bed room apt in Melborne. The apt was on ground floor and quite dark most of the times. Biggest hassle was the bathroom. Whenever u take a shower, water would spill to the floor. There was no full shower curtain installed. Since we stayed for about 10 days, we expected that somebody would come regularly to clean the facility and add supplies. However we had to request cleaning after 5 days. One day I had to go to nearby 711 as bathroom had no more tissues left.

StayCentral Melbourne Serviced Apartments
Owner
It's a shame that someone's expectations are not fulfilled when they stay somewhere. This is why we go to a lot of trouble to clearly explain the arrangements and the services provided by StayCentral. We also provide extensive photography for each of our apartments, and guarantee 100% that the apartment actuall looks the way it is portrayed on our website.
It is sometimes difficult in older style buildings in well-lit areas, to find a compromise between allowing light into the apartment during the day, and blocking out light and noise during the night, when people want a quiet nights sleep. To this end, we installed expensive block out drapes, sheers for the daytime, thick 11mm laminated noise-insulating glass in both bedrooms, as well as extensive lighting. It's unfortunate that the guest didn't like the combination on this occasion.
The folding shower screen is stock standard for many bathrooms in Melbourne. When opened out, it gives more than enough screening for a shower. The problem the guest complained about occurred because he allowed the screen to open out past the edge of the bath. Naturally, the water ran down onto the floor instead of into the bath. We have since fixed this potential problem by modifying the bottom edge of the screen, so that it can't go past the edge of the bath.
It was clearly explained on the website and in the information sent (to the people who booked the apartment for the guest) that interim cleans were provided for stays longer than eight days, and a note about this, (with the scheduled cleaning date), was left for the guest on arrival. I can only assume that this was not conveyed to the guest by the person who made the booking.
An initial supply of consumables was provided on arrival. Again, I suspect the person who made the booking didn't tell the guest that this is to set them up for a comfortable arrival, so they don't need to go shopping for basics the minute they arrive. Some of these consumables last quite some time. Others may only last a few days, depending on usage.
StayCentral goes to great lengths to make their guests feel at home; before they arrive, and during their stay. It is disappointing to see one unusual complaint amongst a sea of great reviews, but I am sure that on balance, our prospective guests will form their opinion based on all of the reviews; not just one.
If travellers care to look at our website or Google Places, they will see a swathe of great reviews across our entire group of properties. We know that if guests enjoy their stay, that they, and their friends, will return many more times; and many of our holiday makers and corporate guests do just that. -

Thanks to Chris and his "home" sense, we had a wonderful stay in the apartment. Very comfortable, all the necessary (and more!) essentials to make the place feel like it really was our home. Wonderful communication from start to finish, and the location was just so perfect, it made the stay in Melbourne all the more better. Chris really goes the extra mile to ensure his guests are looked after - would definitely stay there again and have already recommended to friends. Many thanks for a fabulous 10 days!

We came to Melbourne to visit my daughter who lives in Brunswick West so we picked the Brunswick Vibe. The location was perfect being next to shops, a beautiful park, and the main tram line to the City Center. The apartment was clean, and modern. We rented a car but seldom used it because of the tram lines.

Brunswick Vibe was a great location - convenient to shops, city and freeways.
The unit was very clean, felt fresh and modern.
We loved that home was cool with the air conditioning and close to all types of transport and the city. We did not like that our 4WD could not fit into the designated parking area and that we had to risk the car security by leaving it parked on a major road. If you have a very small car, then the parking situation would not be a problem. -

This was a very lovely place close to everything. We stayed for one week and enjoyed all conveniences that the owner and others mentioned. Most of all, a very nice park was just across a street. We walked around the park after dinner and we loved it. We are tennis players and the Royal Park tennis club was also 50m away too.

The Vibe was a great surprise during a hectic work schedule. Comfortable with everything you need - well equipped kitchen with 6 of everything, spacious bedrooms, ample room to set up the mini office and not trip over each other! Tram stop to city right outside, restaurants and supermarket about 100metres down the road, secure off street parking (for no extra charge). Surprised how quiet it was and how close to the city. Would definitely stay again.
